Welcome to The Red Lion Bishopgate!On the banks of the River Wensum and a stone's throw from Norwich Cathedral. We serve fresh, locally sourced food all day, everyday. Our head chef Tom has created a menu suitable for everyone, including gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options. We serve a delicious Sunday roast every weekend.Brunch is also available every weekend 10:00am-12 noon. Please see below our food serving times:Monday - Thursday: 12:00-20:00Friday & Saturday: 12:00-21:00Sunday: 12:30-19:00 with a choice of roasts and bar classics.We always leave some tables free, so if you can't make a booking just pop in to see if you can grab a table! Large car park for customers.Please note, your booking is allocated for 2 hours. Tables in the garden are rain proof and we do have heating, but may not be suitable in heavy rain.     Wow, what a beautiful meal we had, I opted for the 3 course ( you have to purchase a roast to take advance) £27 for a 3 course meal. What a great deal. The food was amazing. Starter I had potted cromer crab with asparagus ice cream ( what a great flavour) with soda bread and crispy batter saphire.Then the lamb roast. Wow, the flavours. And lemon meringue cheese cake for dessert. My other half had the onglet steak. Fantastic. Great food, lovely atmosphere. Highly underrated and wasn't busy at all. Get there, support them, and enjoy. I've been to 1 or 2 nice restaurant establishments over the last couple of years. Some pretty pricey for what you get and the food in other places from today's standards at The Chequers have been very mediocre. Many thanks to the talented chef

    Excellent Sunday dinner. Numerous different vegetables served, good quality meat and all very well cooked. Good quality wine available. Great service and nice environment. Would definitely recommend.
