Best Italian Restaurants in Lake Grove

The food was excellent - the meatball appetizer was delicious, the eggplant parmigiana was cooked to perfection, the side order of spaghetti was al dente and the sauces on each dish were light and beautifully prepared - fine quality ingredients - the chef knows what he/she is doing and I say all this being of Italian descent. The pistachio gelato was as good as the gelato in Italy and the tiramisu was the best I've ever had. The service was wonderful as well - our waitress was very accommodating, unobtrusive, very polite and sweet. The restaurant was quiet - late afternoon is a great time to go there for a quieter, more relaxed experience. I was celebrating my birthday with my husband and we couldn't have had a better time! We have been here before and will definitely be back.

It takes too long to get your order in. Need more waiters or cooks. I don’t know which. But they do well once they get the order in. Be prepared to stay for a leisurely meal. The food is very good. It’s always crowded at dinner hour.

Delicious meal! We had the buratta and eggplant appetizer, pear Gorgonzola and a chopped salads, shrimp parm and ravioli and meatballs- all were delicious! SPH is moderately priced and the ambiance was inviting. We will definitely be back!

Staff is very attentive. The food is amazing! We went at Christmas time and it was decorated so nicely. Felt like we were eating at a friend’s house. Excellent and I highly recommend. 

One of the best authentic Italian restaurants I have been to in the US. My husband and I were here to celebrate our anniversary and the staff was so wonderful! The food and wine are superb! We had the sea scallops with blueberry chutney and guanciale for appetizers followed by the ribeye with herb butter and the roast pork chop for our entrees. The meat was tender and so flavorful, courtesy of the wood fire grill! I’m not a big steak person, but even I was in love with the succulent ribeye! For dessert we had the chocolate soufflé which was delicious! They have an extensive Italian wine collection as well as a great cocktail and spirits menu. Overall, it was an amazing experience and we will definitely visit again! ☺️
