- OOctavio JorgeVIPLondon •3 reviews4.0Dined 3 days agoVacanza Romana is a very unique place. It has true pasta made right there with real italian flour, fresh ingredients and friendly service. Flavours are very good, wine list has an extensive new world (specially California) variety, not expensive at all. Proof of that is that they have some wines by the glass that other places sell by the bottle at a much higher price. Nice set up, yet not prepared for hot warm summer days. I believe it needs more isolation, double pane windows or Low-E film and an additional two or three AC units. The beauty of having the kitchen (pristine looking, meticulously clean) right in the middle of everyone makes you feel you are at a real trattoria, downside is the heat, but a workable dowside as the costumer can either pick a better time or they can just add more AC. Pomodoro Sauce, excellent. Steak, thick, well cooked in the perfect temperature. Oysters with a grapefruit campari mignonette gives it a serious yet fun twist to fresh-on-the-shell kumamoto oysters, perfect size. Ribeye Carpaccio was good, needed a bit more of the vinagrette (oil and balsamic vinegar) in the arugula and needed to be a bit more chilled as carpaccio is at its best under 45 degrees fahrenheit. Chicken Parmiggiana and the porkchop were good and vast! Al sides and garnishes were very good and right with the perfect seasoning, a bit lower on salt, however making it so healthy cause of low sodium. Only the times were a bit off... too long for wine (which by the way was good but warm), too long for dessert wine, too long for coffee. Just a matter of working their serving logistics a bit more sequenced. Would I go back? Absolutely, will do so but will call ahead to have my wine on the perfect temperature I like, the carpaccio chilled and pre-order so we don´t take longer than we should (large family, three little kids) as other than dinner and drinks, restaurants want (better said need) table rotation and ticket increase as part of their model. Thumbs up for this gem!More infoVacanza RomanaPrice: Moderate• Italian• El Dorado Hills•4.4
- RRobJacksonville / Northeast Florida •53 reviews4.0Dined 6 days agoFirst off, let me say that the one very bright spot about this restaurant is the outstanding staff. From the moment we walked in to the time we left they were the best. The maître d' was very pleasant, professional and took the time with us as out of towners to seat us, explain things and even chat a bit. He also authorized a free dessert at the end of our meal that was absolutely delish. Our waitress, Emily, was just outstanding. We wanted to chill before ordering and have a couple cocktails and she managed that whole time very well, always checking back to see when we were ready to order. Water glasses never go empty and dirty dishes never sit in front of you because they have bus boys that handle those chores. and are always on the spot. The menu is not inexpensive and has a nice variety although not much in the way of beef for you carnivores. There are a couple beef items on them menu but one was not available when we were there. Cocktails were excellent. We started with the CALAMARETTI FRITTI and it was quite tasty. My wife had the INSALATA DI PERE which she very much enjoyed and I ordered the POLLO AI FUNGHI, a spin on chicken marsala. The only issue with the dish was that the sauce was quite greasy/heavy in my honest opinion and it detracted from the overall finish because after awhile it was hard to keep going. It was tasty but eventually it weighed on you. The Tiramisu which came as a surprise was out of this world. Take my review on my dish with a grain of salt as I am quite the food snob. I would go back and maybe try another dish next time.More infoIl Fornaio - RosevillePrice: Moderate• Italian• Roseville•4.6

Asked to move to a booth. There were several available but hostess very displeased no smile. We thanked her but no. We had out of town family and the whole party thought she was rude.More infoThe Old Spaghetti Factory - Rancho CordovaPrice: Moderate• Italian• Rancho Cordova•4.7
