Best Italian Restaurants in Capitol Hill / First Hill

The food at Artusi is always excellent. I love that they don’t have a huge number of dishes — the menu is very well curated, every plate is spectacular, and the portions are perfect. The service is outstanding, and the wine recommendations are truly exceptional. From the moment we walked in until we finished with a delicious Italian coffee, everything was wonderful.

Everything was delicious. We happened to go during happy hour & the menu is well worth it. We got the baguette & olive oil and the salad to start. Then the lasagna & tagliatelle, ending with the tiramisu. Everything was delicious. The bartender cranked out some good drinks too. Highly recommend.

I have been here twice before and this place never lets me down. Partner and I chose Spinasse for our 1 year anniversary (!) and Heather took great care of us. the food was stunning as always (if you have heard me talk about this place you will know I have been evangelizing about the amuse bouche to anyone with ears to listen because it literally blows my mind how good it is) and my espresso martini was appropriately strong. there was legitimately not a bad bite in the entire meal. if you go you HAVE to get the sage butter tajarin (it sounds so simple but it's incredibly good. I can't even describe) and the mascarpone artichokes. I got a weird look describing the latter to my roommate but I can't explain it, it's just one of those things you have to try for yourself also for dessert we got the goat milk gelato which is a stroke of genius. this dish had me enjoying a blueberry for the first time in my adult life. it was so good I think ordering it ruined my life because I don't know if I will ever get to try it again. whoever came up with this recipe should be nominated for a nobel peace prize. I wish I could write like twenty essays for the new yorker about how perfect that dessert was. also the ambiance of the space was great. our table was in the middle of the room which I didn't love but the rest of the space is laid out very ergonomically. whoever they put on aux was killing it as always. I am only a little embarrassed to say I did an under-the-table shazam at multiple points during my meal. Heather's service was fast and very personable, and there were a lot of very minor thoughtful touches that lubricated the entire experience, like the candle they brought us with dessert for our anniversary, and having the kitchen course out the menu for you. Spinasse was fantastic as always. if one could marry a restaurant I would propose yesterday. 10/10

Everything we heard about Pink door is true ! Fabulous!

We had a great time because the waitress was amazing & sadly I can't remember her name. Having been a customer service manager she rocked the whole night! We learned the reason behind the statue of St. Gennaro & that the owner's from Naples! Brought back wonderful memories including my visit to see St Gennaro's blood. Unfortunately I didn't see it liquify. Such a memorable night! Thank you!
