Best Gastro Pubs in Mile End

This is my first visit to London, and I booked our reservation at Old Queen’s Head after I read some reviews on Reddit. This place absolutely exceeded our expectations. The roast was FANTASTIC. I didn’t expect it to be bad, but I also didn’t expect it to be THAT good. The pub itself is VERY cool: gorgeous dining rooms that still felt vaguely home-y, karaoke and private rooms on the top floor, outdoor seating, all that. Service also exceeded our expectations! I never follow up on OpenTable to leave reviews, but Reese gave us the most genuinely warm and enjoyable service. He’s a witty guy, he’s funny, and he checked on us JUST enough where we didn’t feel annoyed (with too many table touches) nor forgotten (without enough touches). Just perfect. Thank you, thank you. I will most certainly be back during my next London trip 🙏🏼

Lovely pub lunch on a friday afternoon. Good service and food

I'd passed The Victoria many times but annoyingly after living in the area for five years last Saturday was the first time that I've been! We loved everything about the place! The menu was inviting, and did not disappoint once we tasted it. The staff were endlessly helpful and cheerful. The garden is a secret delight and we were so impressed with the vibe of the place. It'll definitely become a local fave for us.

Service and food very good. Unfortunately, it was a hot day and the air-con didn't work so it was uncomfortable and we left earlier than we would have done if it had been cooler. Also, very limited choice of draught beers and no cask ales.

Good venue and nice outside if you get the weather. Menu is good but not all dishes were available.
