Best French Restaurants in Croydon

We hadn't been in some time so it was a real pleasure to find Chez Bruce at the top of its game as ever: food cooked to perfection, interestingly blended flavours, beautifully presented. While sophisticated, there is no over the top fuss with friendly but discreet service. It was a great birthday treat for my husband. And a plus for us - no piped music. This was lunchtime and moderately busy. Some might prefer more of a buzz.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Bordelaise. The restaurant is small but warm and welcoming, with a lovely ambience, particularly on a cold evening. The staff were courteous and friendly. The food was delicious - the steaks in particular were cooked beautifully, and were excellent value for money.

A really nice experience in Wimbledon tennis week - nice food, great window table. They forgot my potatoes on the set menu but were pretty charming trying to rectify it. It was such a hectic party night with the whole of Wimbledon out that I can’t blame them. It was fun!
