- KKendraGoldSeattle / Eastern Washington •12 reviews5.0Dined 6 days agoCompere Lapin delivered a dining experience that was worth every bit of the wait. I have been trying to get a reservation here for the past three years, ever since learning about Chef Nina Compton in early 2020, just a month before the COVID shutdown, during a Black History Month event in Seattle alongside Chef Edouardo Jordan of JuneBaby. Both are James Beard Award–winning chefs, and that moment stayed with me. Securing a solo seat on this trip felt rare, and it absolutely lived up to the anticipation. I chose the “just feed me” tasting option, which was the perfect way to experience the range of the menu. Each dish was thoughtfully composed, balanced, and full of flavor. What stood out most was the cultural reverence woven throughout the meal, a seamless fusion of her St. Lucian roots and her chosen home of New Orleans. It did not feel like a blend for the sake of creativity, but rather a grounded expression of identity, memory, and place. Dining solo can sometimes feel rushed or overlooked, but that was not the case here. The experience felt intentional, welcoming, and unrushed. If you appreciate food that tells a story with clarity and care, Compere Lapin is worth planning ahead for.More infoCompère Lapin$$$$• American• Central Business District•4.8

- PPatricia1 review5.0Dined on Jun 20, 2026Fresh oysters are delicious- we loved the house made hot sauce! I’ve ordered the seared tuna over shredded (savoy) cabbage with fresh veggies and a tasty ginger vinaigrette! Prices are reasonable and service is great- attentive but not hovering around. This neighborhood spot is worth dropping in- it’s one of my favoritesMore infoMaria’s Oyster Bar$$$$• Seafood• Warehouse District•4.4
