    Food, staff, esthetics are all excellent. The only considerations I would mention (we dined indoors for dinner ) is the noise level is quite lively and loud. It will be a bit difficult to have conversations. Also, the tables are placed near each other, you will be sitting closely to other guests. This restaurant is very popular, definitely make reservations ahead of time.

    We made reservations for a late lunch on Open Table at 3pm. We showed up only to learn they stop serving lunch at 2:30 and all they were serving was a very limited Happy Hour menu until 4:30. We have had both lunch and dinner here over the years and always received excellent service and fantastic food. We were very disappointed. But the restaurant saved the day and had the kitchen prepare their fall off the bone ribs. We much appreciated their hospitality! Their manager is going to work with Open Table to alert OT users of Lunch, Happy Hour and Dinner reservations. We stay in Kaanapali an hour away; but, always find the drive will worth it. HGS is truly one of the best restaurants in all of Hawaii.

    Delectable food/wine: Argylle Pinot Noir paired nicely with Australian rack of lamb, Hawaiian short ribs, and macadamia crusted mahi-mahi. Delicious lilikoi cheese cake and complimentary birthday brownie with vanilla ice cream--great way to end the meal. Ambiance: Open space, beautiful view! Excellent service from Calvin, live music and wonderful hospitality from the staff!
