Council Oak Steaks & Seafood – Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa
We both thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely go back. Our servicer Natasha was awesome. I had the filet and my husband had the grouper. We both agreed, just delicious. We also enjoyed asparagus and the au gratin potatoes. BTW we had the butter cake for dessert, amazing...
Everything was amazing. Our server Matthew was excellent. His personality enhanced our experience!
Great food! Great atmosphere! The smoked old fashioned is the best anywhere!
The food, service, staff and vibe was perfect! I have not one single complaint. We will definitely be coming back!
The octopus appetizer was superb! The butter cake was amazing! The waitstaff was super! The salad was ok. The Grouper was ok- the mash under the fish was too bitter for the delicate flavor of the fish. My spouse’s steak was amazing. The main drawback was having to walk through the smoky casino to get to the restaurant. If you don’t mind smoke; you will enjoy the experience. We won’t go back because of the smoke.
the service was excellent, even though I do not eat steak my family members raved that it was the best steak that they have ever eaten. Considering we go out a lot and they eat plenty of steak that was a true compliment and I felt great knowing that I had selected Council Oak.
Great food, great service! Pan seared grouper and scallops over risotto were our entrees and they were delicious!
Excellent food with outstanding service! Highly recommend and also fun to spend time in the casino! Will soon be coming back.
We always enjoy Coucil Oaks great food. This time our waiter was OUTSRANDING. Kudos to Mark!!
Excellent steak and scallop dinner and French onion was awesome
Lovely birthday dinner for my husband. I do hate that you have to walk through the smoky part of the casino to dine there. There should be a separate entrance for those who don’t wish to smell like smoke while fine dining.
Very disappointing meal. Steaks were not done well. Although they remake it but still was not worth the overpriced meal.
I was expecting so much more
Danny...Our Customer Service Attendant was EXCELLENT. I would say that the reception personnel could use some training on how to great and have conversation, because I stated in my reservation that I was celebrating a birthday.
Danny adjusted to my request when I told him that I was going to propose to my lady the same night. He explained the menu options very well, and he had such a great experience with wine, food and conversation about our experiences in Italy. The only thing missing was a visit to our table from a manager after pending over $400 for our experience.
All stated I would recommend the Council Oaks again for special occasions and the bar area for good experience with the band.
Fabulous as always!! The food is outstanding! We have never been disappointed in the many years we have had dinner here! Will continue to be our go to restaurant!
Outstanding as usual. My wife and I had a "date night" without the kids and really enjoyed this meal. The jumbo shrimp cocktail was perfect for two. My wife had the filet mignon and I had the bone-in ribeye, both medium rare, and they were cooked to perfection. We also had the lobster mac and cheese and brussel sprouts as sides to share, and both were excellent. We had plenty of leftovers to give the kids a treat the next day. Nick and John provided us great service to make the meal one to remember to end out 2018. We will return on another special occasion.
Excellent service! Steak, lamb chops & salmon were all cooked to perfection. Salmon was a little under seasoned.
Outstanding service --Outstanding steaks---Well prepared
Food was not really anything special. The medium well filet was burnt and unedible.
Very pricey, everything is alcart. That said, the steaks are perfect. I had the NY Strip. My wife had the 8oz Ribeye. Both cooked to perfection. If you’ve got the money you can’t go wrong in this restaurant.
This was my first visit to Council Oak and unfortunately, it will be my last. Let me start by saying the food was fantastic! It pains me to have to write such a crappy review when the food was actually outstanding. However, this was probably the worst place to put a fancy restaurant, let alone celebrate an anniversary. The dining room was very loud. People were passing our table constantly making it difficult to get that intimate feeling we were hoping for. What ruined the experience the most for my husband and I was the overwhelming odor of cigarettes during the duration of our meal. We knew it was inside the casino, but we assumed their would be a good air filtration system in the restaurant... we were very mistaken. The odor was so severe that I began to get a headache and couldn’t finish my meal. We ended up wrapping most of our meal and leaving as soon as possible. If you don’t want to feel like you’re eating an ashtray with your steak, this isn’t the restaurant for you.
Saturday night at Council Oaks was one of the most enjoyable dinners I've ever had, from the food: delicious porterhouse steak sliced into bite-sized pieces, peppercorn sauce, heavenly baked potato and asparagus with hollandaise sauce, to the ambiance -- corner table -- quiet and great for people watching but probably most of all the service. With Arnie as our waiter, I know he will oversee every aspect of our meal to make it fantastic.
Can’t say enough about this place, overall great experience. The Japanese Wagyu beef is a must try.
Great meal and service but very loud for conversation
We returned two out of four meals due to over cooking.
Great food and great service. A little loud due to a lot of large parties but that is to be expected during the holidays. We definitely go back!
Council Oak is absolutely amazing. Everything on the menu is well curated by Chef Cisco--from the 30 day dry aged steaks to the fresh seafood offerings. The Mediterranean octopus appetizer is a must--along with the fried calamari and lobster. The octopus is tender, which isn't an easy feat. The calamari and lobster are fried lightly and ever so delicately. The scallop risotto is outstanding with perfectly cooked U-10 scallops. The ribeye is cooked to perfection and we chose the au poivre peppercorn sauce to accompany it. For dessert, the gooey butter cake is an excellent choice, but my personal favorite was the layered chocolate hazelnut cake. It is the BEST chocolate cake that I've ever had.
The best steak ever, so very tender, literally melted in your mouth! The food and service were beyond expectations! I do think there should be a dress code, people were wearing shorts and t-shirts is not acceptable for this quality of a restaurant.
We had a wonderful time dining for the first time.
Food and service were perfect! Highly recommend for a special dinner out.
The food and service were excellent, but the smoke from the casino was a bit overpowering.
Too smokey from the casino! Ruined the evening! The smoke was too much and effected the ambiance of the evening.
Our server, Mark, was exceptional and an asset to Council Oak. Keep up the great work!!

Food and service was excellent. Smoky smell was too much though.
Very disappointing experience. Have been here many times before and now feel like you are being nickel and dimed in a restaurant where we dropped almost $400. We were greeted by our server who immediately made us stop what we were doing to remove an extra place setting that they set up. After nearly spilling my drink on me with this made-up issue, the server then disappeared for about 15 minutes, but at least she got that place setting out of the way! Next, for a restaurant that was 75% empty it took almost an hour for our meals. Why? After our meals we were asked if we wanted dessert. I reminded the waitress we were there celebrating a birthday for a 16 year old and in the past they always did a dessert for that. We were told, "we no longer do that but we can take your picture". No thanks. Too cheap to spring for a dessert on a $400 bill. No worries. Too many choices around Tampa, no reason to return here.
Just spectacular. Stone crab. Oysters. Cioppino. Wagyu steak. Perfectly prepared. Tremendous service—Mark is one of the best servers I have had anywhere in the world. Expensive and worth it.
Excellent service and food. Professional and friendly and KNOWLEDGEABLE staff! Loved every second of our experience! Thank you Council Oaks!
The steaks are fabulous...the service is fantastic, and desserts are incredible.
Another great experience thanks to awesome food and an attentive waiter, Danny. The noise level is a bit high in this restaurant but you can't beat the exception food and service. I took a friend there who was celebrating his birthday and he loved it. We will certainly be repeat customers. Thanks again!
This was not our first time here, it is the same every time. We love Council Oak, for a great night out.
We went for our anniversary and everything was amazing from start to finish we couldn’t have asked for better food and service.
