Council Oak Steaks & Seafood – Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa
Unfortunately we had to wait 15 minutes even though we had a reservation. But it was worth it. The food was amazing! Steak was outstanding and sides were all delicious. Wine list could use some updating but picked out an awesome value. Service was wonderful. Fantastic dinner! Can't wait to go back.
I always have a wonderful experience when I visit this resturant. The food, service and ambiance is always loud and inviting. I love that this resturant isn't stuffy and boring. I like all of the servers, but I LOVE MARK!!!!!!!!
The food is amazing ~ especially the duck fat hash browns.
Our server Mark did a great job spacing out our meal.
We so enjoyed the food and the service was excellent. What was disappointing was the noise level. We were looking forward to a leasure like dinner and good conversation, but the noise level was over the top. Wondered if a booth might be quieter.
Our server Marija was fabulous! She definitely steered us in the right direction every step of the way. We started out with oysters which were so fresh. We asked about the Wagyu beef tartare and she highly recommended it. Needless to say it didn’t disappoint. It came in a smoking glass box! We then split the longbone cowboy ribeye which was seasoned and cooked to perfection and the duck fat hash browns! We finished off with espresso (my husband) and cappuccino (me) and once again went with Marija’s recommendation for dessert and tried the butter cake. It was so decadent! We will definitely be back!!
We spent our 5 year anniversary in tampa last weekend and had the best server and food we could ever ask for! Keep up the excellent work! We will be back for sure!
The service and food were outstanding. I would highly recommend the Lamb Chops, AMAZING. I would not say this place is affordable, but definitely a place for a special occasion. The only negative would be that it is really noisy.
Great customer service food was amazing. Elegant restaurant!
Service was terrible. For a $500+ meal you’d expect exceptional service but it was what you’d expect from an Outback or Chili’s. We often ran out of drink and had to request more, our food didn’t come out all together, my husbands steak was very fatty and my baked potato was cold. We asked the service to take it back and when the manager came over we told him to keep it and remove from the bill. He said “sorry” and walked away; he could have done more. Then the server came back and thanked us for canceling the potato because the restaurant didn’t have a microwave and she didn’t know how to heat it up. We will not be returning!
Food was outstanding!
I saw reviews saying this place was Smokey from casino, turns out they were not very honest in their reviews! NO smoke smells to be found, matter of fact , I couldn’t even smell the kitchen the air was so clean! Needless to say steak was extraordinary!
Lobster a little over cooked! Service was excellent and they treated us great from beginning to end!

great food and drinks / wine menu
the front desk very friendly the aiwte staf serving drinbks also very nice
nice people serving at table also
food choice very good
you can see kitchen and the cooks, food was good quality
Amazing as usual, one of the best steakhouses in the country for sure.
The food was great and so was the atmosphere. My server was nice but either busy or slow, but don’t let that stop you. It’s great.
Service was on point. The hostess at the front was polite. Our waitress Jennifer was very attentive and other servers helped her as well. The food was amazing and fresh. The Apple Martini was one of the best that I had had in a very long time. We will definitely be returning.
You could smell the smoke from the casino in the restaurant. Everything else was excellent and better than expected. Thanks
Very appealing menu featuring all the steakhouse classics. Nice wine selection. Expensive but worth it.
The services and food was top notch, seating was nice and quite and the atmosphere was friendly and helpful. I plan on going back in the future and I defiantly will recommend the restaurant.
Amazing steaks and seafood. Personal wait staff always nearby. $$ but with it.
Awesome as always. Delicious steaks, lamb chops and sides. Wait staff is attentive and knowledgeable. Love this restaurant.
Never disappointed when I eat here, the service is always on top of their game and the food is delicious
Food is amazing. We have had a number of meals trying a number of dishes off the menu, always great food. Restaurant can be noisey at times. There are more intimate booths for a more dining experience. Also the lounge for live music at times during the week. I recommend the lamb chops, or rib eye. The wife recommends the salmon.
My wife and I went to Council Oak for Dinner again on 2/23/19 for our 31st wedding anniversary. We have had inconsistent service, food and atmosphere here across many visits.
We had a late night reservation for 9pm and the restaurant was crowded and very full. Council Oak had our table ready on time and we were seated in a fairly busy traffic area. A bit disappointed, but again, the restaurant was extremely busy. It was very noisy and we had difficulty hearing each other and our server.
My wife and I ordered wine as well as appetizers, crab cake and they were excellent. Our waiter was very good, but overall service was very slow possibly due to the restaurant being every busy. He has been our waiter before and he does an excellent job. The food came VERY slowly and took a long time. The waiter kept apologizing for the delays. We were very patient and understanding.
We both ordered French Onion Soup which has been great in the past. When it arrived the cheese was melted, but it did not have a nice brown, inviting look to it. It was still white and we weren't sure it was heated. We soon found out. The soup was luke warm at best and that is why the cheese appeared the way it did.... It was chewy and hard to cut and eat. We ate the soup and did not want to wait another half hour to get a new one. We kept having to ask for our waters to be refilled several times, but again, the place was packed.
Another 45 minutes went by and our main course finally arrived. My wife ordered the Salmon and I ordered the Bone in Rib-Eye. Both were excellent. THe flavor of both items was incredible and at least these were cooked so we could eat them. We did order a side dish that never arrived - the kitchen forgot to prepare it so we never got one - so we did not want to wait forever again.
Not sure if we will be coming back here much more. We did notice that the area we were seated in had a ledge that ran a good distance. It had a thick coat of dust on the entire run of the top.. SO
I've heard wonderful things about Council Oak, but in my 3.5+ years living here in Tampa, had never been until this past weekend. Now I'm kicking myself that it took so long since we had a truly wonderful experience. While the food was fantastic, it was our waiter Mark who made the night. He was EXTREMELY engaging and friendly, and gave us great recommendations on everything from wine to dessert. Unfortunately we had to wait for over 30 minutes after our initial reservation to be seated, but as the old saying goes, good things come to those who wait. And dinner was definitely worth the wait (and then some).
We had a delicious meal that was both fun and memorable, and will definitely be back again... with a special request that Mark is our waiter. He was hands-down, one of the best servers I've ever had in my life.
outstanding food. my server was too busy with other tables to give proper service. he quoted the wrong price for the special. when he came back to correct himself, he offered dessert to apologize. when the bill came, the special was again a different price.
I tried the Japanese Waygu beef, it was amazing. The service was outstanding, I highly recommend this restaurant.
Unfortunately, we had a very terrible experience on Friday Feb. 22nd, 2019. Our reservation was at 7:30pm, we ordered a round of drinks and then placed our entire order which consisted of crab cakes, 2 french onion soups, a filet mignon, a new york strip, and the potatoes au gratin. We received our crab cakes which were completely burnt. We didn't receive our soups until 8:30pm and at that point were finally asked if we wanted another drink, to then receive our steaks that were warm at best and the potatoes were literally cold at 9pm. We had the server box them so we could take them home to warm them as we had friends meeting us. We explained the issues to the manager who took one round of drinks off our bill. In addition, to all of this, we had to listen to the extremely rowdy table of 10 men screaming the entire night. Needless to say, nothing went right and for a bill of over $200, not only will we not be back we would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
This was a celebration dinner for a family member and all was very accommodating. Food as usual was delicious, service was fantastic, whole evening went as planned and really made this a special evening.
Daughter’s 18th bday. Hostess, waiter, all made a big deal of it. Our waiter, (I believe his name was Mark....terrible that I can’t remember) was respectful, astute, efficient, thorough, thoughtful, and simply nice.
Brought our daughter’s dessert with happy birthday written on the plate in chocolate and a candle in the dessert. Lit it with a torch for effect!
Meal was wonderful. Bread basket and drinks were on point and a good start. Octopus was meaty and excellently prepared and plating was beautiful. French onion soup was best we ever had. Caesar salad very good. Wagyu filet mignon was everything and more as were the lamb chops. Sides of corn with bacon and asparagus were delicious. Butter cake is worth getting.
Did not feel rushed. All courses were well timed. Would definitely return. Thanks for a memorable evening!
Amazing! Went for our anniversary. Mark was a great server and our food was more than outstanding! We have decided to make it a tradition every year!
We requested a booth and were taken to one of the nicest seating areas in the restaurant. The steaks were amazing and prepared to the requested degree. I don't usually like lamb chops but these were superb too. Very memorable evening.
Great food, great service Mark from Atlantic City NJ was our server, great guy.
Waitress was terrible. We asked to speak to a manager and no one came over. We also waited forever for our meals. Food was great but definitely not worth it overall.
We enjoyed our first visit to Council Oak. The restaurant was a bit nosier than we might have liked and it would have been nice to be in a booth rather than a table near the entrance but the steak was wonderful, the sun dried tomato foccacia out of this world and the dessert phenomenal too. We discovered after the fact that we could have split a steak and will definitely consider that for the future.
It is almost impossible to call the actual restaurant(I tried 5 times). I ate at your place of business the other day and at this point I have no idea how your place is standing on its current rating. The food was great and I probably would have enjoyed my time there and stayed a bit longer had I not get one of the biggest migraines I have ever had in my life due to the smell of very very heavy cigarette smoke. On top of this issue my wife and I were doing everything in our power to block out the major inconvenience but than she was told she actually had to leave the entire restaurant to use the bathroom so she basically had her dining environment absolutely destroyed by full on smoke all around her. Needless to say our planned Valentines day dinner that I had planned for weeks in advance was cut very short and we ended up eating steak with no utensils out of our takeout box on top of our hotel mini fridge. If this is something council oak is fine with then please continue what you are doing. I have attended charleys and del friscos many times and I was told this was a step up so we were dying to try you guys out. Unfortunately I didnt want to literally die in the process.
The atmosphere was very calm and relaxing the waitress and the Waiters we're very good. I liked how there was an extra person that help the waitress with things that she couldn't get too, how they came around to greet you so you're not waiting, they got your water, bread etc. The only thing that I didn't like was how much the wind was and I only got barely a half a glass the wine I wish my wine glass was full for $18.
Karen and Miguel were awesome. Food is amazing - we had the steaks. They melt in your mouth.
A bit expensive but service was great, friendly and non pretentious while being very classy.
Our server (her name began with a J. Young, petite, dark hair) was a delight! Thanks for an amazing meal and recommending the Valentines Day dessert. See you again next Valentines Day.
What a wondeful place to spent Valentine's day. Just in awe of the service, the food, the ambiance. Nothing negative to say.
