Since the Romans left, the Italians have been operating a policy of conquering the world's palate, plate by plate, and traditionally-run family restaurants like Cotto are their failsafe. The welcome is unfailingly warm here, the decor is authentic in feel, with murals on the walls, and the pleasures of the table are taken seriously indeed. Cotto is a 5-minute walk from the London Eye and the Aquarium, perfect for before or after family outings and it's also very popular with business customers during the week. There's live music on offer, too. As for the menu, try classic Tricolor salad to start, one of more than a dozen pastas, like Spaghetti carbonara, and a main course of simply and beautifully grilled Sirloin steak. Or just opt for a pizza and be happy!

We were looking for a nice Italian place for our anniversary, and this was 250ft from our hotel! The food was wonderful, the servings were generous. I had linguine with clams, the lasagne was also great. Prosciutto and melon was a great starter as well as the octopus. There house red wine was delicious. The only concern was that it is a tiny space, and when we first arrived it was very noisy in there. Each party that left seemed to bring the noise level down.

5 ⭐️. Outstanding, authentic Italian Resturant run by a family from Italy. Homemade pasta dishes and desserts. Highly recommend if you are looking for dinner options before taking in a play at The Old Vic Theater or in the Waterloo area.

My daughter is Celiacs and we had such a delightful experience here! This genuinely family-owned restaurant is was founded by the owner, who is Celiacs, and he enthusiastically greats you with his family at the front of the house. 2 separate kitchens, fantastic food, and the staff is terrific. You cannot go wrong dining here.

Fab owner and staff! Was very busy as it was night before London Marathon. I was very fortunate to have a table booked well in advance. The gluten free Ravioli was unbelievable! Will be back again next time I’m back in London

This was our second visit to Cotto on trips from Australia and it did not disappoint! The staff are fantastic and so many gluten free meals with coeliac safety that it is a delight. Thank you for the warm hospitality and wonderful meal yet again
