A must try in New Orleans not far from the CBD on Magazine. The food is unique and some of the best I've had. Everyone in our group said it was truly a great experience. We will certainly be back again.
We came as a couple for a birthday and tried the blind tasting menu with wine pairings. We loved the creativity, thought the pairings were great, and appreciated that they acknowledged the bday. We would definitely come back! We slightly preferred the ambiance of the lower bar level to the upper restaurant, but both were lovey.
It was a superb experience !
Great birthday dinner and first time visit. Will definitely return
Amazing and innovative food changing seasonally. Service is warm and inviting. If I could only have one meal out it would be the feed me here.
Seated on time; service was attentive. Ambiance great as usual - sounds of a restaurant in Paris for me: moderate sounds of conversation, the bartender, just comfortable background. Waitstaff presented specials effectively, meals came after just enough time for some enjoyable conversation; we ordered our favorites; meals were consistently enjoyable, as always. For, this was another excellent experience at this fine restaurant. Of course, we will return.
Located on a peaceful section of Magazine Street; parking close by with ease. The beautiful interior and ambiance provided the finest setting for a wonderful meal. The food was outstanding, from the small plates to the entrees, thru the desserts. Dinner isn’t complete without dessert. Someone always eats it. The service was excellent.
Leaving and stepping into the evening, enveloped in the Garden District makes for a memorable occasion.
Phenomenal. Blind tasting with wine pairing was lovely.
Shrimp and beets were fantastic. The short rib, however was overly sweet and not at all savory. A little tough to cut but not too tough to chew. The table we were at downstairs was so distracting as my direct view was the blinding street light and discount zone gas station.
Absolutely fantastic all around!!!
Our first meal in New Orleans was a great success. Lovely restaurant. We sat upstairs where things are a bit more quiet. The fish is fresh and prepared perfectly. Service was first rate. Highly recommended.
My husband and I chose this restaurant for our 15th anniversary. The service was exceptional! The staff each visited our table wishing us a happy anniversary. The Sommelier was very knowledgeable and fun. We had the hush puppies with pimento cheese, grilled shrimp, and the snapper and trout. They were all very good. The dessert was also worth it! We highly recommend this restaurant!
Coquette was tremendous! Excellent food and cocktails. We will go back on our next trip to NOLA.
Always amazing! Coquette consistently delivers the freshest seafood and vegetables, cooked and seasoned perfectly, paired with creative yet restrained flavor combinations. Everything was plated beautifully. My favorite restaurant in Nola!
good food good ambiance good service
In short, The food was excellent. The gulf shrimp was flavorful without being over seasoned. The red snapper was super fresh and presented in an extremely colorful exciting way. The wine that was featured was interesting and light as a safe pairing with almost everything, albeit not a standout wine.
Everything was perfection!!!
What a lovely restaurant! Space was beautiful and yet casual and relaxed . The food was just incredible! Unique and delicious! One of the best meals I have had in a very long time,
Superb food...presented very well...menu selection was nice. Bread was to die for...crusty enough to hold a pizza but the inside of the bread could have stuffed a pillow...a real wowser! First time diner was impressed!
Coquette was good, just not amazing. We had the tasting meal, and we loved three of the four courses but were pretty disappointed by the second course, white rice with white turnips and seasoning. It mostly tasted like butter and was not impressive in presentation. The desserts were good and the restaurant handled my partner’s dairy allergy quite well, even for the dessert. My favorite item was the Sat-sue-me non alcoholic drink with Satsuma. We tried the cocktails as well which were quite good.
The tasting menu here is always memorable. Also, surely the best value for a first-rate meal in the city.
Food was very good. Our server was excellent.
It is not fine dining, per se, but fine food. It is NOT shorts and a T-shirt either. Not pretentious may be better.
We are in NOLA 1x monthly. We move fast, only one dinner night. And we try different restaurants each time. You go to NOLA, you eat, end of story.
Cochon, Peche, Muriel's ... next time probably Gianna. We have done a lot of sites. I would say for activity, no. Slow that way. For tasty food, yes. For options, no. For odd NOLA food like Alligator, no. For good service, yes. On / in historical NOLA, yes. For a date, yes. For a party, no. I hope that helps. The food was really good though, and that was most important. We had the Sweet Potato app and the Kohlrabi. The first was superior, the second pretty good. And I do NOT like sweet potato. I had a gulf fish, and think it turned out to be snapper or ahi, and it was really, really good. Desert we had some apple thing. Yeah, not too technical. And yes, it was stupid good. So overall, go to Coquette. If you are looking for action, don't, but for everything else, do.
Great service and food and drinks
We love Coquette and return for all special occasions because they are: consistently excellent, inventive and varied with a constantly changing menu, and thoughtful at every step of the meal.
This is my second time having dinner at this place and it definitely will not be my last. The only negative is that it’s located in New Orleans and I live in Baton Rouge...but trust me, it’s worth the drive. The menu is somewhat limited in terms of the number of options, but this is actually a good thing: Everything on the menu is carefully chosen, thought out and prepared perfectly. Don’t miss small plates of Louisiana gulf shrimp and fingerling sweet potatoes (it’s because of this dish that I actually like sweet potatoes now...at least the ones at Coquette!). Make sure someone at the table orders the red snapper and the smoked short ribs.
I kind of hate it when I ask a server what they recommend and they reply “everything is good, you can’t go wrong”. Well, at Coquette, this is a truism...everything on the menu is REALLY good and you will not go wrong. Highly recommended.
Food is a delight, but you have to get used to some not well know ingredients which the staff will happily explain. Bread is house made and served warm; wonderful, yeasty in a city full of good bread. Atmosphere is fairly quiet and subdued décor. One of the fine place to dine in a city full of fine places.
My husband and I dined at Coquette after a day of strolling Magazine St, and it was divine! The atmosphere - from the charming chandeliers to the earth-colored Heath Ceramics flatware- was cozy and welcoming. The staff was friendly and attentive. The menu was small and expertly-curated. We ordered a grilled shrimp small plate, a roasted sweet potato small plate, kale toast with trout roe, and seafood stew. Everything was well-balanced, wholesome, and beautifully-prepared. Coquette is the type of place I’d like to return to again and again just to see what they come up with next!
Best dining experience in the city.
There were 50 wine selections and 14 food selections so it seemed more like a bar than a restaurant. I hope this is temporary. I used to love the dish with Louisiana caviar but now they top kale with it. Does NOT work. I hope this is just a phase the chef is going through....
Ambience, excellent service, very well paced and every bite a culinary adventure. Never a disappointment. It’s my special place and it never fails to impress.
Delicious food, great atmosphere and awesome service! We loved it!
Very creative food with well balanced flavors and textures in each dish. The room is airy and fun feeling, the stoneware table settings communicate a sense of style without pretense. All in all just a lovely evening. I’d happily return
Always a great dining experience.
Courteous and professional staff.
Expert wine advice available.
Don’t go by what the menu describes but ask your knowledgeable server for the details which are always revealing. The trout and bouillabaisse entrees were outstanding.
Thanks for yet another memorable meal and see you again soon.
Great table server (Beth) & friendly bartender. The seafood stew was excellent. The short ribs were one of the best recipes I’ve had. Unusual desert selections, but it was delicious. We will be back!
Chose the blind tasting menu. EVERY item was delicious and something I would likely have not ordered on my own. Lovely experience.
Overpriced and just average food. I'd save your money and skip this place.
We did the chefs tasting menu which was excellent- and matched with the wine pairing is the way to go. Food was only exceeded by excellent service and knowledgeable sommelier.
All three in our party had glowing reviews of their meals. From small plates to entrees, cocktails to dessert everything was truly outstanding and inventive. Service perfect. You cannot go wrong here!
Tastings were supreme. However, serve dessert first as it was filled with more flavors than one of your cocktails. We love Coquette.
