We went to Cooper’s Hawk for Father’s Day. Was quite surprised that 4 or the 8 food items we attempted to order were out. Was very disappointing.
We come here pretty often because we love their wine. ambiance, and the food is great!
My husband and I had an amazing experience celebrating my birthday!
Cooper's Hawk has great appetizers, pretzel bread, great selection of food choices. I was disappointed in the lobster bisque when I went a few months ago-no lobster or seafood but lots of chunks of vegetables?? I asked the waitress if they had changed the recipe, but she said no. I have never been disappointed in the bisque before and I got it every time I went, which is many times. Well, when I went this week I thought I would try the crab cakes. I am from the East Coast so I should have known better about ordering seafood from a non-seafood restaurant. The crab cakes were terrible. There were two on the plate. I ate one, but did not even bother to take the other one home. Very disappointing. They looked pre-made with lots of bread filler and tiny shredded crab. The appetizers (Drunken Shrimp and Southwest Egg Rolls) were amazing as always, and I do love their Bloody Mary's. To die for!!The wedge salad it so delicious, too! So, in all Cooper's Hawk is a great venue and is still one of my KC favs, but just don't order the seafood. My opinion is if they put it on the menu, they should have the highest quality of food standards.
I am never disappointed with Coopers Hawk.. great food everty time and great wine selection!
We had a great time dining at Cooper's Hawk on the Plaza. We started off with the candied bacon and artisan cheese appetizer. The bacon and honey comb were especially good. We had a variety of entries that paired very well with the recommended wines. I had the Bourbon Lacquered BBQ Pork Chop that was delicious.
We enjoyed our dinner at Cooper's Hawk, but found that it was hard to have a conversation because of the noise level. We would recommend all of the food and wine we had to others and had great service.
Cooper's Hawk is a great spot in Country Club Plaza. We've eaten there twice when we've been in Kansas City and both times we've been impressed with the service and the food. The quality of the food is good - I wouldn't call it gourmet, but it's certainly a substantial step above most chains and the preparation and presentation are very good. The house-labeled wines have also been very good (be aware that I didn't notice any alternative wines offered, other than the house label). The only thing that works against a full recommendation is the noise level. Don't expect a quiet dinner with easy conversation.
Good awesome, service great!! Enjoyed our waiter, Ben, who was very knowledgeable and attentive!!
The food was great although the crab cake that I ordered was ‘fishy” tasting and I got a piece of shell in one bite. The server made it right and provided a substitute medallion which was amazing . Great appetizers and the flavor is the food in general is delicious.
One of the best kept secrets in Kansas City! A must visit on the plaza. Food is amazing. Wine is very good.
The wine tasting room is downstairs and the restaurant upstairs. It was very loud. We could barely hear the waitress or each other. The food was good, but since there is no separation from upstairs to downstairs it was extremely loud. It was Friday night, so was very busy.
Excellent first experience at Coopers Hawk from the atmosphere to the amazing food to our knowledgeable and fun waiter (Joshua). Oh and of course the delicious wine!
Excellent food. Excellent service.
The drunken shrimp are amazing. Love this place.
Absolutely love Cooper’s Hawk. It is one of our favorites for date nights and girls night outs! Our waiter, Roman, was excellent. He is super friendly and does his job amazingly.
We just love this place! Great food, great wine and just a great atmosphere!!
Our first time at Cooper’s Hawk and it will not be the last. Amazing wine and food and excellent service.
Great restaurant. Our server Anthony was super helpful and charming. Everything was perfect. I would return to this restaurant.
36th wedding anniversary always a wonderful experience when dining at Coopers Hawk. Josh was an excellent server. The food and wine were outstanding. Love Coopers Hawk one of my favorite places to dine
Perfect dining experience for our anniversary. Staff were friendly, helpful, and courteous.
Overall it was a bit loud fir our Anniversary. My steak was overcooked, but the overall experience was pretty good. I’m not gonna lie, I was so excited that ho try it so I was a little disappointed.
Food, as usual was great. I’ve never had a bad meal there. Love the wine tasting!
We are wine club members, and have always enjoyed going to Coopers Hawk in Indianapolis. We just moved to Kansas City, and I was very disappointed in the atmosphere. We were there on a Saturday evening, and were put in a dark back corner of the restaurant. The center candle was never lit, and it was so noisy and loud that we found we had to shout to hear each other. The food is good, the atmosphere was awful.
This was our second time to Cooper’s Hawk! We loved it just as much is the first time! The food was great, drinks and dessert were awesome! Finished up with some wine tastings downstairs! Overall, One of our favorites!
Great food, wine and service as always!!! Enjoyed our awesome waiter, Ben, who was very knowledgeable. Will return for sure!
Never disappointed when we visit. Fantastic food, service and ambiance!!!!!
Overall food was excellent. Service was on the slow side but would go back again
Delicious food and wine! Our server was terrific!
This a great place for a date night or special occassion. Their wine list and food pairings are exceptional. I love the wine flights and the food is always artfully prepared and displayed.
The wine, food, and staff were excellent, but the noise level was terrible.
This was a dinner celebrating my (adult) daughter's birthday, and the expected fine dining experience was severely diminished because of the noise. We could not hear each other from across our table.
Mother’s Retirement Party!!!
The food was wonderful! I also appreciated the great wine menu and pairings offered as well as other cocktails and craft beer. My only complaint was that in my reservation notes I indicated it was my Mother's Birthday we were celebrating. None of the wait staff acknowledged this even upon again sharing the news. I didn't want singing but could have had a more jublient staff "happy birthday" instead of repeated "oh" after asking if we were celebrating something. I'm sure I'll go back. The lemon chicken piccata was phenomenal. Thanks!
Branden was AMAZING and very informative and patient. His suggestion were spot on. I would recommend anyone to go as we will be returning and I will ask for Branden’s area. He made us feel like we were family. If I can give Branden 10 ⭐️ he deserves it.
Amazing food for the price. Wine is fair and a bit overpriced but overall a great meal
Ordered the Strip steak and had to send it back twice. How difficult is medium rare? First one was well done and the second one was cold and purple inside. I ended up on my third try getting the shrimp and scallop risotto. It was very good. They comped me a couple of bottles of wine which I appreciated.
We had an okay experience. I love Cooper’s Hawk for the wine, it was not my first time there. I have never dined in the dining room though. We got sat right away and had a nice table. Our server did not seem thrilled to be there, but there could have been a handful of reasons for that, I understand as a server. I ordered the Chicken Giardiniera - it was okay. The vegetables were a little too salty/vinegary for my taste, but the Parmesan breaded chicken was divine. The server only checked on us once after ordering, so that was a downfall. Overall, I will likely still be back for the wine flights as I enjoy the environment in the bar area.
The two guys at the host stand have no idea how to welcome someone. There are too many great restaurants in this City. Dropping my membership and going to other restaurants. Too bad, the food is good, the wine is good, the service is good. Getting seated sucks.
