Meals aren’t about trends, shock value, or opulence.
Meals are about moments, memories and those who surround you at your table.
We believe in the complexity of simplicity, and the power of pure flavors. Our histories, vast and varied, deserve to be memorialized and romanticized by dishes that at once remind us of home and transport us to somewhere new.
We don’t make food for everyone else, we make food for you.

Fun time celebrating with friends. Great service from the staff.
So thankful and glad they re-opened! Missed them tons!!
Perfect.. as we all expected,,
Could not have been better..
Will do again very soon with visitors.
I had family and family friends visiting from out of town, and they wanted to go to a nice dinner on the last night they were here. This place did not disappoint. Loved the cocktails, and all the courses, including dessert. Nice ambience and friendly waiters as well. Will definitely go back!
We but I was so happy for this return.
It was Veterans Day and through my whole United States Army career I was never a Veteran to myself only a rookie.
I retired two days because few and I am a Veteran.
I am so happy our greyest Chef and Restaurant has returned!!
The food was fantastic, as usual. Even though it was only curbside survive, you can tell it was prepared with the highest standards when we unpackaged it at home!
Great Mother’s Day take out brunch.
We come in from Longview, TX once a year.
Last year we had dinner, it was outstanding.
This year Sunday brunch, also outstanding.
Next year we will do both.
What a completely amazing experience. Thank you!
What a wonderful meal. I really enjoyed the whole dinner including the drinks. My server was a bit grumpy but I suppose I can totally relate with all of the Coronavirus stuff going on. So, overall a wonderful meal!
Interesting Caribbean food. The snapper collar was delicious. The passion fruit sauce on the Cobia crudo was fresh and tangy.
The food was delicious and creative as always. Had the wonderful opportunity to meet Chef Nina. The server sometimes seemed a little abrupt but, self corrected.
Waitress was rude. Perhaps she was having a tough night. Food was really unique and delicious. However, experience was really over shadowed by rude wait staff.
Delicious food, professional service and cozy atmosphere made for a perfect New Orleans lunch.
This was the best dining experience we have ever had, period.
Hospitality, for me, is the idea of everything being done with intention. With pride. With extraordinary grace and genuine care. From the moment we entered and were greeted by the hostess (apologies I forgot her name - but a black Queen with braids), to our time at the bar (we enjoyed a drink as we were early for the resi), to the excellent team service with Nicole taking point, thru our end of meal chat with Harrison; everything was perfect. There was no wasted motion, no halting of care, and no lack of hospitality. The entire crew was genuinely grateful and proud to work at Compère Lapin. The. Entire. Crew. We even had a brief interaction with the gentleman manning dish - who was excited we were in and thrilled our experience was so great (I watched him from the bar, he was brilliant. At 8p in the thick of service his area looked like he had just opened. Kudos brother!) As someone from the hospitality world, I cannot stress how rare it is for the entire crew to hum so. Such love and passion can only come from the very top. So, thank you Nina and crew.
The food was beautifully presented, and elegant in its simplicity. Not to say it wasn’t complex! It all just sang with such balance and love. ‘Twas Brilliant.
Idk. Everything was amazing. I could ramble and such, but just go yourself. Experience true hospitality. Savor a meal executed flawlessly. Imbibe on cocktails that are art. Interact with beautiful people running a phenomenal restaurant. Just go live and enjoy the experience.
We cannot thank you all enough crew - spot on, Cheers!
Food and service exceptional. Bravo Nina Compton!
The food is imaginative and delicious. The service is impeccable. Can't wait to go back!
First, never before have I ever hit a brunch spot without bacon!!!! Second of all, the server was having the worst day of her entire life. To say that we were a major inconvenience to her, is an understatement. So sorry to burden you.
Absolutely beautiful food. Just what we were looking for. Thank you!
Très bon, beaucoup de saveur locale, belle ambiance mais le service laissait à désirer.
Delicious food, incredible service. pricy but makes sense given high quality ingredients. Nina is a star!
Great food, helpful and friendly service. Sunday night was relatively quiet. Would absolutely recommend to anyone.
Unfortunately, the negative first impression and attitude at the host stand upon arrival shadowed the entire experience. We have eaten here several times (at the bar) and had a great experience.
Everything was great service & food. The noise was better than most. You could actually have a conversation . The only thing that we encountered was that our waitress could not bring out any bread with our wine. She said the chef would not allow that, but only when our food came to the table.
Best food of our trip so far.
Absolutely delicious. The service was incredible and we enjoyed every moment of our experience!
Very good food and service. We had the Pre fix Brunch and everything was outstanding. A must when visiting NOLA
Amazing! Creative use of ingredients and so many different profiles.
Always outstanding. The pasta with the rundown sauce is a great combination of shrimp and tomatoes. The pasta is a treat. The jerk chicken with collard greens was outstanding! Great service. Thanks Compare Latin!
The food and service were excellent. Delicious wine and unique menu choices. The tuna appetizer was particularly good. I would definitely eat here again and will recommend to friends.
Technically competent execution. The jerk chicken was simply an excellent roast chicken - sadly, I could not identify any pimento or scotch bonnet whatsoever. Same with the adobo pork - very well executed and tender, but well...bland. Better to call it braised pork. Still looking for the smoked bone marrow in the cow heel soup. The celery meringue was delightful and innovative, but the soursop semi freddo lacked actual soursop flavour. Maybe dining anywhere in NOLA on Ash Wednesday is a risk, I’ll admit. Having travelled from NYC to eat Nina Compton’s food, it was heartbreaking to be underwhelmed.
Service not great
Food was ok
First time in NOLA. This restaurant was recommended and did not disappoint! Delicious food, great atmosphere and service. Curried goat was amazing!
Awesome food... fun place to watch parades too!
Our server, Kimberly, was fantastic! She bery knowledgeable of the food and drinks. She answered all our questions. Food was delicious. We sat in the back, the music was louder in the front. But, yeah, it was Mardi Gras! Overall we had a great dining experience and we will definitely be back! 😃
The food was both creative and delicious and the chief accommodated a special dietary need without missing a step.
Great restaurant. Awesome and attentive staff. Fresh oysters from the Gulf were great. Both entrees really were awesome. Creative menu. Some drinks were much too pricey for their value; I'm looking at you Copper Bunny. Music was a bit too loud and I wasn't expecting to hear pop rock.
Great service. Creativity in food prep.
music LOUD, no conversation at normal levels.
expensive for what you get....
Excellent food and atmosphere. Loved it!
