The Osteria at Cinghiale has the feel of an elegant tavern with white table-cloths and mahogany and leather banquettes. It features a large farm table for a special family-style dining experience.
The Enoteca at Cinghiale celebrates the modern Italian table. It is designed to be a playful section of the restaurant, as well as a gathering place. The space has a lively urban bustle that features rich woods, wrought iron chandeliers and a handcrafted marble tile floor. Adjacent to the main bar is a Salumeria that features traditional meats, cheeses and antipasti.
The menu is complimented by an over 500 label wine list that features Northern and Central Italian wines. World of Fine Wine magazine recognized Cinghiale for having one of the best wine lists in the world for 2016. Outdoor seating is available, weather permitting.
My wife and I went on a Monday and had phenomenal service. Are meals were excellent and I would highly recommend.
We were seven people so although we had a lovely round corner table it was still hard to hear other than your neighbor. The food was wonderful. We shared appetizers and pastas and each had an entree and shared desserts. A wonderful night out
This was one of my worst dinning experiences of my professional outings. I have dined at Cinghiale multiple times over the past 6 months. They should know me.
However, the Manager / hostess was rude from the beginning. She was dismissive and completely caught up with flirting with another Manager. All night she choose to stay close to the front station, close to her colleague.
The food was not only late (50 min by my clock). The food was not that good. I had the Chicken, it was dry and chewy.
End of the night, after sharing feedback with the lead waiter, the Manager comes to the table to present the bill.
She said she timed the order and it was only 20 min for our food prep. No sorry for delay no apology. Just an argument.
And then she proceeds to go have dinner with her boyfriend / colleague at the bar. And their relationship becomes quite obvious to everyone in the Restuarant. Not appropriate behavior.
I wouldn’t recommend Cinghiale to anyone.
First time to restaurant based on a strong recommendation. Food was outstanding and really liked the ambience. It was extremely loud and difficult to carry on a conversation. The service was definitely sub par. Waited a lot of time between courses and to have order taken. I will definitely go back due to the atmosphere and food quality and hope service will be better. Would probably request the more formal room thinking it would be easier to carry on a conversation.
Is there a sixth star on this survey? Exceptional service, creative, fresh and flavorful food. My favorite restaurant in the city, hands down. Only downer was they didn’t have ingredients to make several of the cocktails on the menu which was odd. Meal and service great nonetheless.
The food was very good but the service was not. When asked why our salads were delayed he answered we have a big party in the back and had to prepare theirs. Also did not bring food out when asked and was a bit pompous

We came in for my husbands birthday. We had an 8pm reservation and were seated in the bar area upon our arrival. Both my husband and I chose to do the 4 course meal. Everything was fine with our appetizer round. We then moved on to pasta. My husband was served his pasta nearly ;5 minutes before mine came out. We then waited 45 minutes between the pasta and our main course. When our $40 steaks arrived, mine was perfect. I had 4 nice slices of steak. My husband received a plate with two very small slices of steak and a slice of fat and gristle. We had asked a floor manager if they could sent our waitress over when she had a moment. The manager asked how they could help and we commented on the difference in the plates and mentioned we had wait over two hours for our second and third courses and were a bit disappointed in his portion size for the price. The response from said manager? Well what do you want me to do about it? We then spoke to our waitress who brought over a second manager. This manager said they would fire up some more steak for my husband. 30 minutes go by and we asked our waitress when the steak would be coming..at this point my food was cold from trying to wait for my poor husband. Our waitress checked with the kitchen and they hadn’t even started on the extra steak yet! We said to forget it and we would just move on to dessert. We had mentioned several times that it was my husbands birthday. This was supposed to be a special night celebrating but it was overall a huge disappointment. When you are spending 200 plus dollars on a meal you shouldn’t have to wait 3 hours or be served a sad plate of steak. The lack of concern from both managers and the poor customer experience makes us not want to come back.
Service was a little slow and the kitchen was still overwhelmed on the day after Valentine’s Day, but the food was phenomenal! In particular, the Squid Ink Pasta, the New York strip steak and the Goat Cheese Cheesecake stood out among what were already impressive kitchen creations.
Though definitely on the expensive side of the cost spectrum, the overall experience and food are excellent and it’s absolutely worth the visit!
Went to check this place out as an option for bringing a large group to celebrate my son's graduation. Very friendly and attentive staff. We all enjoyed our meals from appetizers right through dessert. Our favorite appetizer was the Veal Tortelloni dish that we shared...the mushroom Marsala cream sauce was outstanding!
We all enjoyed our entrees. The NY strip was cooked to perfection and the scallop and chicken dinners were also very good. There was a mix up with one of the entrees and they had to take back a dinner to send out correct order. The waiter was very accommodating but never acknowledged the error. We enjoyed the rest of our dinner and finished of with amazing desserts. My husband addressed our experience with the manager who was more than apologetic. Because of this fine service, we have made the reservation for our group of 12.
This was outstanding from start to finish. Plates came at a nice pace, service was attentive but not overbearing. And the food was so delicious.
Cinghiale is a wonderful experience. Food, service, ambience and people-watching are reasons we go as is Jimmy, a very knowledgeable and helpful member of the staff.
I try to only write positive reviews, but this was ridiculous. I took my wife and two friends out for an annual dinner at which we pick a fine dining establishment. This is not a fine dining establishment. We were one of the first tables sat on a Saturday. We ordered a big wine $$$, they didn’t have it, but no big deal that happens. Our server, not a sommelier, came back with a comparable bottle. That’s the first time that has happened to me in a fine dining establishment. No specials offered (come on now). We ordered quickly. 3 courses, the first being soup. 1 hour and 10 minutes after our soups were finally cleared we received our half pasta plates. During this wait, I poured the wine for the table, because our server was MIA. When she did return she told us there was a mistake in the kitchen, I said ok. We ordered 3 glasses of wine to eat with our pasta. Didn’t get them until the pasta was long gone. Terrible. Not once did a manager come up and talk to us to check in, ask how things are, nothing. I worked in service industry in my day including fine dining. They had food runners, and didn’t have to read off specials, there was no reason for this absence of service. When one of us would get up, never was a napkin folded when we returned. Entrees were ok, nothing to write home about. There are a bunch of fine dining restaurants that trump this place in food and especially service. We spent most of the evening staring at empty plates and glasses. I still tipped 20% and I don’t have a clue why. Don’t bother with this place.

Came from New Jersey with my new bride to show her the wonders of beautiful Baltimore’s inner harbor. Since I wasn’t very familiar with the restaurants in the area I went on open table for a recommendation and I am very happy that I did. This place was spectacular from the second we walked in to the second we left !! There was a little bit of a wait but we didn’t mind since the bar is phenomenal on its own. We had a glass of wine while we waited and took in the ambiance. Just watching the cook prepare appetizers at the open station mid restaurant was a show in its own !! We sat down and didn’t even look at the menu. I told our waiter that we were looking for 3 courses nothing too heavy and just to have the chef bring us what he felt like making. The first course was a mix of meats and cheeses which were absolutely delicious. We then had a pasta course the pasta was very delicate and melted in your mouth. For the main course we had seared scallops and they were perfect!! Overall I have to say that this place did not disappoint !! If you’ve never been here you have to try it !! I can’t wait to come back to Baltimore to eat here again !!! Bravo !!
The food, ambiance, service were very impressive. Foreman-wolf group are the best restaurantuer’s in the region.
Food overrated - quite disappointing based on the 5 star rating. My veal breast was fatty with tendons, and not flavorful. The apple crostata was mainly a piece of crust with a small sliver of apple.
We enjoyed our dinner but our side dishes came after we were done eating and we were never offered coffee, although we were offered dessert. Service needs to be better
Cinghiale never disappoints! Been returning several times and yet leave very happy with the food. We visited on Thursday night for a quick dinner. Restaurant was extremely busy, although was during Baltimore Restaurant week. We chose fix price restaurant week menu, with raving experience for all items. Surprised to see the owner, Tony Foreman around taking care of the restaurant. No we did not get picture op, too bad for our bragging rights. It’s rare now days to see owners of several restaurant to be involved in daily business, guess it has something to do with restaurant success. Thanks and please keep the quality high for years to come. We have been visiting all properties of Foreman-Wolf Group, except one, and by far are our best places in Baltimore dinning scene. Highly recommend.
we came here for restaurant week and it was just a terrible experience. the highlight was the valets. they were more attentive than our waitress. we waited for more than 20 minutes for the server to come even order our drinks. the table next to us was seated later than we were but got their drinks and appetizers before we did. we considered just leaving and going to another restaurant altogether but they finally brought the bread out and we heard great things about the bread. the rest of the food didn't live up to the hype. I barely finished a quarter of my entree and just took my dessert to go. definitely not planning on going back.

Great dinner at Cinghiale — Restaurant Week menu included a nice variety of appetizers, entrees and desserts; and the wine pairings added a nice touch to the meal. We always enjoy Cinghiale and recommend it highly!
The food was all amazing. The ambiance was perfect. The attention of the service staff was excellent. My glass was never empty and they were taking away dirty and empty dishes almost as soon as they were empty. I 100% recommend this restaurant. I was seated on the casual side so it was a little more lively which I enjoyed. Nothing uncomfortably loud.
The food was quite good. My standard for Italian food is Ristorante Bartolotta in Milwaukee, and this didn't quite come up to that. But it was good. Service was a little slower than we'd hoped for - the wine came well before the courses with which they were paired (for my husband; I had a cocktail before the meal and wine with my entrée). We came for Restaurant Week so we could try it out, and I'm pleased with that decision. It's not my first choice among the Foreman-Wolf restaurants to revisit (Charleston, Petit Louis, Johnny's will get my repeat business before I would visit Cinghiale again). But it was good. It was fine.

It was fine. Maybe it was restaurant week “blah” or the ravens game... the service was not up to the usual standard. I waited a very long time for my first cocktail and it was downhill from there in terms of service. The food was good but not the usual “great”. This happens to be my favorite restaurant and I’ve been many, many times and I will return many more time. Tonight was just “off”.
Beautiful restaurant with terrific atmosphere. Best charcuterie in Baltimore. The grilled calamari is fantastic and the sauce is great for dipping bread in too. The pasta and risotto were available in half orders and also terrific. Parish is amongst the best servers in Baltimore.
Jimi was great. The enoteca was packed and therefore, the noise level was very high and filtered into the other dining room. Squid ink pasta was all I could imagine it to be! Excellent
Once again, a fantastic meal at this great restaurant. Always hits the mark. Great food, personalized service, happy family!

New Year’s Eve
Had a very good experience at Cinghiale. It was very crowded as expected, but we were seated almost exactly at our reservation time.
Our server was very nice and explained some of the items on the menu. It took a while to get drinks and get the evening going, but I will chalk some of this up to them being very crowded.
Each of us enjoyed our first course. My mother-in-law had the mushroom soup, my wife had the swordfish and I had the ham. The plating was very nice and you could tell that attention was paid to each dish.
Four our second course, we each had the Agnolotti that was stuffed with Guinea Fowl Ragu. We all agreed that this was the highlight of the night. I would go back just for that dish.
For our third course, my MIL had the Rockfish, my wife had the Monkfish, and I had the short rib. The fish dishes were very good, but I was a bit disappointed in the short rib. It wasn't as tender as it should have been, and I didn't care for the way it came together. I wouldn't order it again.
For dessert, we each had the Blackberry Semifreddo. It was also very good.
My wife and I had the wine pairing and we enjoyed each glass.
I would like to go back on a regular night to try some items off their regular menu.
We were disappointed in the supposed "view" of the Baltimore fireworks. The restaurant billed their celebration with a view of the fireworks. From the window in the restaurant, we probably saw maybe six to eight bursts. After a while, we just sat back down and enjoyed our coffee. I looked at the fireworks on social media the next day and we couldn't see the majority of the show from the restaurant.
I would definitely go back, but I wouldn't go if I wanted to see the NYE fireworks.
