We had relatives from Okinawa visiting and had a party of seven people. Five people ordered the special New York steak dinner for $35 per person which included soup or salad, selected entrees and selected desserts. The steaks were ordered from one medium rare, three mediums and one well done. All five said the steak was not good - tough and not tasty. All five were not happy and disappointed. We know it was on special, but maybe they can serve a smaller portion and better cut of meat. We are so sorry we brought them here and wish we had just spent the money and had gone to Hy’s Steak House where we are never disappointed and the quality of their food is well worth the price. I wouldn’t even say you get what you pay for because the steak served at Chart House would not even be good if it was half the price.

Far more casual than other Chart Houses we've visited. Service was ok, and food good. Very loud and not so good music spoiled the experience somewhat.

We got there and new immediately it was not the CHART HOUSE restaurants we new. This location has NO connection with the Chart House chain although the restaurant is on the waterfront most of the tables have no views and the back tables are very warm. The food for half of our group was on the money but the half that had the swordfish found it over cooked and like rubber. When we called the waiter over (never came on his own) he apologized but did nothing for them.
It would be questionable if we would return.
They should advise when booking a reservation that they are not part of the Chart House chain instead of living off their reputation.
We did have a reservation but still had to wait over an hour for a table that was "near" the front instead of being in the back of the restaurant.

Excellent food and drinks! We were on vacation in Waikiki and saw this place as we were walking by. I made reservations on open table and was lucky enough to find an opening at the time/day we wanted. This Chart House is not part of the Chart House Group you find in Daytona Beach, Fl. It is a stand alone location. I ordered the filet and a side of shrimp. Filet was very good, shrimp was amazing! I thought the shrimp tasted like lobster. They were so big that I had to cut them up on smaller pieces just to eat them! I would definitely go back just for the shrimp. Everyone else in our group ordered different items. We all seemed pleased with our choices.

The special menu was great, will definitely come back for dinner. Not good if you have trouble with stairs. Bathroom is a flight and another short flight of stairs down and then coming back up the stairs are blocked by people waiting to get seated so if your balance is not great this can be dangerous. If there is an elevator it is not clearly marked.

It’s okay. Showing it’s age and losing its charm. Soups and appetizers were good. I had the prime rib which was overdone, tough and lacking flavor. Other guests had fish which they said was good.

Sat night had an excellent older waiter who was quick and brought a replacement lobster when I mentioned that it looked more the size of Langastino than Maine lobster. Sun night had a young lazy waiter. Tuna was awesome fresh and tasty. My sister had the sizzling Sicilian steak med rare both nights, it is from bar menu only but they served in dining room. Huge portions and delicious with onion and mushroom. Band in bar was OK. Sean bartender is the best. Prices reasonable for Hawaii, great harbor views, I reserved the liani tables each night for best view.

Wonderful food. I had the $58 dinner which included appetizer, soup or salad, entree, and desert. I had crab stuffed mushrooms served on mash potatoes, Cesar salad, crab stuffed shrimp (4) with jasmine rice and asparagus, and creme brulee for desert. It was all yummy and I took some home and shared with my honey because the portions were so large. They also have a fixed price dinner for $35 which includes soup or salad, entree, and desert.

I suspect the restaurant is typically a great place to gather & dine; however, our experience was not a good one. The dining room area(s) was very hot upon walking in and unbeknownst to us until after we were seated, there had been some sort of generator fuel (diesel) leak in an office space above the restaurant and the fuel was still spewing down along the front of the dining area. The fire dept was actively working to resolve/contain the leaking fuel and the restaurant obviously opted to maintain operations despite the fuel leaking from above. In fact, they chose to simply close the balcony windows in an effort to prevent the fuel from spewing into the dining area. Unfortunately, closing the large windows/sliders caused the interior of the restaurant to heat up significantly. Even our would-be waiter was amazed (a bit peeved actually) that management hadn't closed the restaurant under the circumstances. Anyway, it was too uncomfortable for us to remain in the dining area, and, coupled with the fact there was an ongoing emergency situation on the other side of the glass, we decided to leave the restaurant and go elsewhere for our special dinner (was our honeymoon trip). Perhaps we'll give them another try if/when we're in the neighborhood again.

We wanted to have a nice dinner on our last night in Hawaii. My husband and I had stumbled upon their late night happy hour and fell in love with the food. Since Charthouse was within walking distance of our hotel we decided to go back. The food was fantastic. Our server was nice. However the place where we were sitting wasn't so great. We were sitting on the balcony area and placed next to a very noisy large family. They were so loud we could barely hear our server. There is a busy street on that side of the restaurant and there were a ton of buses streaming by. People on the street were smoking cigarettes. It really killed the romantic mood of the evening. But that isn't the fault of the restaurant. Bad timing I guess. If you're looking for a romantic evening, perhaps sit somewhere a little quieter and away from the balcony area.

The ambience was great here and the service was incredible, the staff are friendly which is always a nice touch.

We were fooled by some of the pictures as this restaurant as we was led to believe it was on the ground floor of the sea front but is actually on the 2nd floor of a building which is on a road and then you have the harbour so when we arrived we thought we had got the wrong address as the downstairs section looked like a pub and we couldn't see any tables/chairs out front. I realise if you go onto their virtual tour this is now visible.

We then looked up and realising people were seated upstairs. When you go up the stairs its a completely different vibe as this is the dining area. The views are nice and the candlelit vibe is romantic.

I would not rate the food here as I think it is over priced for what you receive. We found this is the same in most of the restaurants we went to in Honolulu. We could be wrong, but I wasn't a fan. We visited both Honolulu and Maui and we found the food in Maui too be of a much better standard.

It was for my mom's 60th birthday and we made a request for waterfront outside seating, which they obliged at first. We were running 10 mins late (10 minutes!!!), navigating thru the up/down/straight/elevator here+there paths thru the Waikiki resorts. So while we're a couple minutes away we see that it's 10mins past reservation time. So I call right away to let them know and it went downhill from there. I call and speak to the host to tell him we are almost there and explained the circumstances. This poorly trained worker snubbed us in a condescending tone saying he had to give away our table because others wanted it--No apology, just some explanation akin to "so yeah, sucks to be you," HORRIBLE customer service. MICHAEL is the host name that provided that pathetic excuse of "customer service." You are functioning in a tourist laden area with people who have money to freaking burn and are on vacation! Idiot.

The food was good, but the dining area was too hot. I was sweating the whole time. The wait staff packed up the leftovers and I went to eat it 2 nights later, but the appetizers were missing. I thought it was strange that the wait staff was asking if we were done with the appetizers half way through the meal. I asked him to pack up everything at the end, but I guess appetizers were not ment to be taken home. Probably won't go back.

First of all, don't be fooled that this is a Landry's Chart House restaurant! It is not! We went there with a gift card and our Landry's card, and were told they are not affiliated. That was a disappointment. The waiter was just OK, not overly friendly, but he and the other staff were attentive enough to our table. Nice local fish on the menu and a good wine list. We had a table overlooking the street and the marina/harbor, which also gave us a sunset view. Too bad the marina is filthy with more floating debris than should ever be around boats! When next in Honolulu, I will dine elsewhere.

Husband I returned to Oahau after 5 years. We returned to the Chart House. Too me it's a landmark of old Hawaii. Our server was good but then after waiting long for a drink - the bar person took our order but then kind of forgot about us. The food is expensive but the view of sunset and marina is beautiful. My husband enjoyed his meal. I think he had stuffed salmon. I didn't care for my stuffed shrimp as much. It was coated and seemed like fried but it was baked. Didn't care for the coating. All in good but I would order something different.

I liked that this restaurant offered two kinds of prix fix style menu, regular prix fix and a sunset menu . While we were dining , we heard "happy birthday singing" from the staff that was quite good...better than average song service. Overall, a fun place to dine with friends.
