Catches Waterfront Grille
Tender shrimp and scallops tossed in a creamy parmesan alfredo and garlic sauce over linguini pasta; Substitute chicken
Crab legs were great. Green beans and rice was super bland. Service was good.
My H and I arrived for Easter brunch, only waited a few minutes and had THE most wonderful meal and dessert! Great food, excellent server(sorry I can't remember her name, we sat overlooking the water) and wonderful surroundings. I would not hesitate in recommending Catcher's . Kudos to a great establishment !
Great atmosphere, great food and a very nice view of the river. Fantastic Easter brunch
Easter brunch was excellent. Service was outstanding, menu was great, flavors were well balanced, and ambiance was great. In this time of Covid, the staffed serving line buffet was well thought out to achieve CDC guidelines. Well done!
Something was happening in the kitchen. The food was coming out very slow from the kitchen for us and others. The bar service was very slow as well. With reservations it took over 1.5 hours for the main course to get to the table.
Food was wh
Make a reservation, don’t be more than 10 minutes late, arrive only 15 minutes early, food is vary good, cook time to receive your food is somewhat long, service is excellent, noise levels are very low, price is on upper middle class range, Overall was a pleasant dinner out.
The waiter Kyle was good, waiting 1.5 hours for food was ridiculous for not being busy. I heard good reviews, but we had a bad experience. We brought our daughter and son in law for their first time to eat. Unfortunately we do not plan on going back.
Our server Kyle was phenomenal. The crab cake and peel and eat shrimp were very good. The entrees were terrible.
I think it was just really busy and it is normally better.
Dining at Catches was an incredible experience. From the service to the food, everything was perfect.
Great food and great water views! Ray was an exceptional waiter! Was our first time here and we will definitely be back! The Bourbon Glazed Salmon and Shrimp was absolutely delicious!
Had the Monday night special which is a seafood trio which I chose to have a grilled… Absolutely amazing! We had reservations and we’re promptly seated at a window table… Definitely a must! Our only complaint is that it took A very long time for our food to arrive… And it wasn’t that busy. I understand that the food is cooked to order but we waited at least 25 minutes Which for restaurant standards is a long time
They were short on bartenders so drinks took a very long time. I believe Port Richey is near the ocean however the shrimp and scallops were tiny which makes we wonder? Canned? Anyways, food was very bland for having such good ratings. Will not return.
I ordered the Lobster dinner. The lobster was ok, but the potatoes and corn were awful. The potatoes had no flavour at all and was a funny colour. Looked like they where boiled in dirty water. The corn was soggy and no flavour. They were probably from the night before and left in
the water and heated up.
Now the service. Our waiter was slow had to ask where our soup was. When I put the potatoes and corn to one side and told him they were awful he didn’t offer anything else. He also did not bring the bread basket to our table which was included.
The restaurant itself was attractive and in a setting on the river. To bad the food was awful. We will not be going there again. Hopefully someone else will take over this restaurant and make it worth it setting. (The only thing going for it)
Great food - the Salmon Wellington was fabulous-friendly and knowledgeable staff
Yummy, fantastic food & service by Laura. Setting is beauiful & inviting.
Ate inside in the lovely, airy dining room. The host sat us at a table far away from other diners as requested, but still with a great view of the river. Food was excellent and our server couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. Many thanks for a wonderful dinner out!
Server was attentive and personable! Food was great, as always! Love coming to Catches!
We are frequent flyers to Catches and normally everything is great. However today's visit was subpar.
Going to Catches is a very pleasant experience. If you like fresh seafood and fish this is the place to eat. I usually eat on the porch that overlooks the Hillsborough River. It’s so nice and pleasant out there watching boats come and go. I had the blackened salmon salad with vinaigrette dressing! It was wonderful . My cousin had the seafood chowder that arrived cold but the waiter immediately addressed that. She had a Cobb salad also. We both enjoyed our meals. We spent a long time at the table catching up but never felt rushed by the staff!! I definitely will be back!
Was not impressed with the food nor the service. Scallops that were white. No flavor. Had high expectations of a seafood restaurant and was severely let down. Server seemed to be annoyed with everything asked. Won’t be back.
Went for Valentines Day, was a bit disappointed because they offered a special menu that wasn't as large as the regular. The food was good but not 5 star for the price. Id try it again with the regular menu in place. Great water view.
My favorite place to eat On the Cotee River. The best place to go for a romantic atmosphere
Very uncomfortable chairs, great food and atmosphere!
Beautiful views and very nice space but food was just okay.
Server was very good but grouper over cooked, baked potato Luke warm. Sent back & still same. Green beans undercooked & barely warm. No charge for my meal but not sure I want to give another try
I took my Sweet Hubby here for his birthday. It was PERFECT!! Despite me not requesting a table near the window when I made the reservation, the staff was quick to give us the most perfect table, looking out straight down the river. The food and our waitress were AMAZING. The restaurant was beautiful. We will definitely be back with family in tow.
Restaurant looks newly renovated. Patio needs to be updated. Food & service were good.
Beautiful place great service
Food was cold
Manager and waitress very apologetic
The table was ready when we arrived. The hostess greeting was excellent and our server (Alicia) was absolutely outstanding. We are returning on 1/12/2021 at the same time and requesting the same server. Catches' has always been our #1 choice for dinning out.
Well, I had very high hopes based on the reviews however it was not quite what I expected. We asked to sit outside and were told it was too windy so we sat inside but then they proceeded to seat 3 other tables outside. We were like the table that time forgot - we were totally lost in the shuffle.
The apps took forever - and the Tiki bang shrimp had the worst presentation ever on a blank white plate with an orange slice garnish and was swimming in a mayo based sauce. Then the waitress delivered breadsticks and said you should have already gotten this but the kitchen didn’t make any. Then another long wait and finally the waitress comes to tell me the kitchen is out of asparagus so they can’t make my fish Oscar style unless they do it with green beans or broccoli? So I say forget it make it blackened.
So it finally arrives and was fine but nothing to write home about since instead of actually getting blackened fish it was just sprinkled with a spice. - then they still charged $11 for the Oscar style. At this point I was so ready to leave I said forget it and just paid it. As for the ambiance- it’s extremely bright for dinner. I would think they would dim the lights or something for dinner.
Not sure we will return based on this experience - there has to be better water front dining around here.
Fantastic place and ambiance !
We sat outside since the weather was beautiful. The service was slow and once we did get our food it was not hot. This is our 2nd time there but I’m afraid although the view is beautiful, that is all this place has to offer. We will not be going back.
The food was great but it took over an hour and half to get our food.
We’ve been 3 times. Each time I ordered something different hoping it would be better. The food is just bland. Not much taste to any of the sauces or meats. Bartender screwed up my friend’s martini twice. Our waitress was very nice; so we felt bad complaining; but lots of things were overlooked by bar and kitchen. Probably won’t be back.
Paid $40+ for surf and turf. Steak was bland. No seasoning on it at all. Just stuck the meet on the grill and cooked it. Can do that at home. Fish not much better. Shrimp appetizers were undercooked. Very chewy.
New Years Eve dining. Awesome experience. Will definitely dine there again.
Very nice place. Service and food was outstanding. Great views if you can get there before sunset.
The food was we had was great. There is some outdoor seating near the water when the weather permits. We have have eaten there multiple times when we are visiting in the Port Richey area.
We will go back again .had a nice appetizer.mussles dailbo.great fish and chips and a pasta dish.
