Great food and excellent service...but an odd end to the evening.
I am a regular diner at this restaurant. The food is very consistent and delicious.
The meal was generally good but sounded better on the menu than it tasted. Our drinks, a martini and a cosmo were shaken at the table. Either there was inadequate ice in the tiny shaker or the server didn't shake them long enough because they weren't as cold as they should have been with little bits of ice floating on the surface. My guest had the grilled calamari which she enjoyed. I tasted hers and found it not to be as fresh as it should have been and was therefore too rubbery. I didn't taste her bronzini. My panzanella was small, about a cup and a half, and therefore overpriced, but the croutons had been freshly tossed in the dressing and were of good texture but overall the salad did not have the brightness one expects. My polenta di Mare was also bland and at $24 overpriced, containing polenta, three shrimp, one scallop and three tablespoons of crab. The polenta was described as crisp which it wasn't. The sauce tasted like thickened chicken stock. I also requested that my scallop(s) be well done which it wasn't. The menu description described fresh basil as one of the ingredients. It consisted of a basil leaf laying on top. I would call that a garnish not an ingredient. The desert, a lemoncello cake, was to be infused with lemoncello. My first bight was excellent with a little tang from the lemoncello but every bight after that was bland. Our bill with two drinks, two appetizers, two entres and one desert came to $103. Not overly expensive but I felt over-priced for the quality and quantity (this was not a tasting menu) of the food served. My suggestion to the chef: Revisit your menu with an eye to making them tastier and more distinctive.
Thanks to the chef for taking my favorite recipe and making it gluten free just for me!
My husband and I went to dinner at Carpaccio for our 2nd anniversary and everything was outstanding! Jamie was so wonderful. We don't get to spend a lot of time going out often, so it was wonderful being able to sit down to dinner without feeling rushed through it. Thank you all for such a lovely evening! We can't wait to go back, again!
We are frequent guests and this is the first time we walked away from dinner being disappointed. The food lacked flavor and just didn't wow me like it used to. Hopefully it's a one-time thing.
Luigi does an excellent job managing the restaurant and Rachel is an incredible server.
We always LOVE our trip to Carpaccio's !!!
My husband said it was one of the best chicken parmesan he has ever had and that is HIG praise! I had a kale quinoa salad special which was quite good.
When we go to see a show at Ramshead, we always dine at this restaurant. The food us delicious and the prices are reasonable.
We dine here every year when in town for the Sailboat Show, at least once. It's EXCELLENT. The service is always great, the food delicious and fresh. GREAT Italian Food.
First time visiting .... food was delicious! Server took her time and waited between courses - didn’t feel rushed. Will definitely be back!
Do not like the change in valet parking, lucky it wasn’t raining on our visit. Server was very nice but may have been overloaded.
I made a reservation and got to the restaurant a half hour early, however during the first 1.0 to 1.5 hours there, while seated at the table, we had restaurant personnel come over to ask us at least twice if we had reservations. So, why, when the host checked us off on the computer when we first got there? I don't understand that at all! Waiting for our food took way too long for each course. We ordered a pizza and asked for pepperoni to be added. Once it finally got to the table, there was no pepperoni on the pizza. We declined the offer to send it back and get another pizza since we didn't want to take a chance to have to wait another half hour or more for that to come. After our other party joined us at the table, counting from that time onward, we were in the restaurant waiting for everything for a total of 2.5 hours. A Ridiculous length of time!
This was our first time at Carpaccio and the food was excellent and the outdoor dining was wonderful.
Free desert for birthday!!
Always good to have a meal at Carpaccio.
Excellent dinner and service. Our waitress Christina was excellent even though she had a very large party to deal with. Food was tasty and portions were big. Enjoyed the pizza which was served instead of regular Italian bread. Several slices of Tuscan style pizza. Mozzarella appetizer was fresh and delicious. Will definitely return.
Enjoyed another fantastic meal at the best Italian restaurant in all of Annapolis . The Service with Christine was fantastic. Our cocktails were awesome and the food was spot on. If you have room enjoy a slice of the coconut cake. To die for... You will not be disappointed if you go and dine here. Enjoy...
Food portions were small and not very tasty. Not worth the price paid.....
A good selection of Italian favorites made this a spot for us to try with picky eaters. The portions were generous, and the food very good. However, the service was less than stellar. Though our waitress was able to guide our selections, she was absent most of the time and hard to get when we needed things. It's a shame because we dine out as much for the food as for the excellent service and likely will not be back as a result.
This was our first visit to Carpaccio. We were celebrating my nephew's 15th birthday and told him he could pick the restaurant. He did a Google search for "best pizza in Maryland," and Carpaccio came up as the best in the Annapolis area, so he chose them. He was nervous wondering whether everyone would like the restaurant. He shouldn't have been. From the time we walked in (we were seated immediately), to the time we sat down (our waitress was very pleasant and accommodating), to the point when our food arrived (piping hot and delicious!), we were never disappointed. Drinks came out right away and were refilled throughout our stay. The restaurant started us off with a delicious focaccia topped with a spicy tomato sauce. It was very good! My nephew had the meatballs Mediterranean appetizer, and declared them the best meatballs he's ever had. For his entrée, he had Grandma's pizza, which he said was excellent. I had the baby arugula salad and vitello porcini (both excellent), and my nephew's mother had the pollo principessa and baby arugula salad, and she thoroughly enjoyed her meal, as well. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Carpaccio. The meal was leisurely (which is exactly what you want when you're celebrating a birthday). Everything that should have come out hot came out piping hot; everything that should have been cold came out icy cold. The portions were very generous. (In fact, I recommend ordering the mezze portion for the entrees. You'll find that it's more than enough for a hearty meal.) The staff at the restaurant were very gracious and attentive. We're all looking forward to going back and bringing other family members and friends with us. I can't wait to try some of their pasta dishes! As they passed our table, they looked scrumptious!
We eat here about once a month on a date night. They bring small pizza slices out in lieu of bread that are amazing! The Martini's are great. The pasta is amazing as is the chicken and the steak. The calamari appetizer is always tasty. The service is always great as well. We are never disappointed!
As always, the food was outstanding. Our server John was attentive and knowledgeable. He knows the menu and preparations thoroughly, including the daily specials. Every time we are seated at one of his tables, he’s been enthusiastic and helpful.
Great menu, service, creative entre’s, ambience . . . What more could you ask for?
I cannot say enough positive things about This restaurant. Food and service are always exemplary. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It’s an Annapolis gem.
Friendly staff; delicious food and cocktails; close to live music venues
The food and service were both great. They had a large party and it had no effect on us!
Food & service was the same as we receive every time we visit. Menu is very diverse so never boring.
Good quality Tuscan cooking. Pizza was missing the wood-fired, brick oven but okay. Everything else was great. Wine was a little over-priced, $20 in store was $60 here, 3X is a little overdoing it in my opinion.
We'll be back for sure.
1st time, for lunch followed servers recommendations everything was spot on. Try the lemoncello 👍🏼
Great place to get a nice dinner prior to attending an event at the Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts!
Lovely outdoor patio and pleased to discover that they accommodate dogs on the patio.
Restaurant is one of my favorites in Annapolis. Consistently good. Great atmosphere, Great service, Great food. This particular time, the server was less than friendly and seemed distracted. I also came in and waiting at the front desk where no one was. A waiter going by with a tray of food, over his shoulder, says take a seat anywhere...we sort of stumbled forward and then a bartender saw us and came over and seated us. Whole thing started kinda "odd".
We had a great meal the server was excellent, the food was really good served hot , I will be happy to go back
Very good food, excellent service even though it was extremely busy. Very nice staff, would definitely recommend!
Food was not delectable. Service was below average.
Despite reservation we were forced to sit outside on a hot evening. Server never brought bread despite 3-4 requests. Too busy with a big party inside. Food was excellent as always, but the experience was not. Zero Open Table points.
In Annapolis for a concert, found Carpaccio on Open Table & went for a pre-show dinner. We were seated quickly but there was a bit of a mix up on server assignments & we sat for about 10 minutes without seeing anyone. I finally said something to the manager who responded instantly & got a server over to help us. She was excellent - friendly & professional & very quick with service when we mentioned we had a show to get to. The manager even bought our first round of drinks. We could not have asked for a better response! Food was very good - pizza & eggplant parmigiana with pasta. Enjoyed the setting & the meal & we will be back!
The food is mediocre. It seems to have set itself up as something it's not, or at least something it's not anymore. A good example is the roasted beets and goat cheese salad. The beets seemed like they were pickled from the can, not roasted, sliced thin and round like you get from a can. The goat cheese was crumbled really small, spread throughout lettuce that looked like it had been chopped hours ago. The whole thing was extremely unappealing. There were about 4 walnuts, 2 of them clumped together. The salmon was fine, nothing to praise though. My partner's pasta was fine, but again, nothing great for the price. The pizza "bread" they give out for free while waiting for your food is just kind of weird. No good restaurant gives away something like that.
Love, love love this place! Food is delicious and service is prompt and friendly. Location is good too —-don’t have to go all the way in town and parking is no problem. Returning soon!
