Fantastic! Great atmosphere and wonderful food!
Saturday brunch was delicious! Capitol Cellars offers a “Build your own Bloody Mary Bar,” which was awesome. The staff and service were exceptional! The brunch menu offered everything from omelets, lamb sausage hash & turkey monte cristo’s, (with House made jam, yum) to burgers and French onion soup. Could not speak higher of the food, service and ambiance!
Great food. A comfortable seating and very timely service with great recommendations from an even greater steward of our presence!
Food and service was outstanding! It did however take an hour to bring our food (there were only 3 tables up on the patio being used where we were outside). I will say they were having a big party inside (we sat outside with the singer because it was odd with the big group inside taking the whole restaurant and doing presentations). So likely the slowness was caused by the big group inside. Food and service was really good.
Held a business breakfast at Capitol Cellars. The food was outstanding. Probably the best breakfast I’ve had in Boise. Our server did an excellent job. Fully understood that I was conducting business and knew how to take care of me! Quiet setting. Beautiful ambiance. The coffee is roasted locally and is delicious. Thank you Capitol Cellars! Will be back.
What an amazing dinner at Capitol Cellars! If you’re looking for fine dining in Idaho, this is the place to visit. The staff was gracious and accommodating in every aspect. Started with cocktails, prepared perfectly! Our charcuterie and cheese plate were delicious. The French Onion soup tasted house-made, (which they pride themselves of) and was true to the taste. The wine list offers over 400 selections from new world to old world, impressive wine list. The Prime Rib was top notch as were the other items ordered. Service was impeccable. Highly recommend Capitol Cellars for a special occasion! Can’t wait to try their Breakfast, Brunch and Lunch. This is a must try in Boise!
Outdoor sitting was lovely. Inside while had a neat vibe had an awful smell. Service could not have been more slow, although our waitress was very nice and friendly. Great wine selection but food was terrible and bland. Would not recommend this place
Capitol Cellars is a great place in Downtown Boise to go to lunch and get in and out within an hour. The menu has a good variety of choices with salads, sandwiches, burgers, etc. It is one of the few restaurants in town that offers a Monto Cristo sandwich, and it is a good one! We will be back.
Our first time there and it was wonderful. We're trying to figure out why it took us so long!! The staff was professional and friendly. The food was exceptional and the ambiance was nice. We won't wait two years before we return. Thanks to all!
We really enjoyed our meal and the setup of the restaurant is unique and was pretty cool. Food was good. The Chenowith chicken was really great. We will be back for sure.
Could you get a grumpier waitress
Very small, intimate restaurant. Was really wishing I loved it. Unfortunately my salmon wasn’t cooked all the way through, the rice didn’t have much flavor and the vegetable was average at best.
Service was a bit slow to start but then fine for rest of the meal. The food was good. I had the ways and means with “vegetables” but was a bit disappointing that it was only broccoli. Needs some sound absorbers as it is rock and wood so even though not very busy it was noisy and hard to hear the person right next to you. The atmosphere has great potential. Would love to see a few more booths but loved the underground ambiance. I would definitely go again but it missed the mark slightly to get five stars.
Delicious! Everything made in house (including chorizo). Atmosphere and service perfect. We waited quite a while for food but it was so much better than any other breakfast you can get in Boise that it was worth it.
Great food, wonderful service, and a superb bartender.
Had an amazing dinner at Capitol Cellars last night. Our server Tara was attentive and helpful. We started with a very tasty cheese plate, the French Onion soup I think is the best in the city, we had the Stake of the Union and the pork chop both perfectly prepared. Thanks Capitol Cellars for another delicious meal!
Clearly one of Boise's best boutique dining experiences.
Great wine cellar!!
Limited menu but food and ambiance were phenomenal.
Loved Capitol Cellars - wonderful and interesting atmosphere. Enjoyed the history of Idaho displayed all over the restaurant.
The food was amazing - appetizer of Burrata was delicious and beautifully fresh. French onion soup was delightful and the prime rib was some of the best I've ever had.
Service was warm and friendly. Very nice happy hour as well - Thank you for the wonderful time.
The food was very good with the exception of my pork chop being just slightly overdone. The buratta and braised tomatoes was wonderful, the prime rib perfect. Service was good but a little too casual, in my opinion, for dinner and setting. We will return!
Great food, great service, beautiful space. The server was quick and efficient and made excellent recommendations. The prime rib was amazing and the server offered straight horseradish without us even having to ask. The Borah burger was “the best burger I’ve ever had” according to my husband. They brought a cute chocolate “happy anniversary” sign on our creme brûlée after inquiring if we were there for a special occasion. Overall it was great and we’ll be back!!
Although it wasn't requested, perhaps noting that it was a business meeting, the restaurant placed the team in a private area - surrounded by wine ! It was perfect for the team and we appreciate your attention to this level of detail.
It was quiet with friendly wait staff who were not obtrusive. The food was somewhat overpriced. A mistake was made with one of the sides, but quickly corrected with apologies made. The restaurant had a musty smell which wasn’t pleasant.
Had a nice evening to celebrate my sons 21st bday. Thanks
The food is always consistently delicious. The service is courteous and accommodating and the hostess/owner is welcoming and gracious. Love the atmosphere and the historical architectural uniqueness.
Nice waitress and service. Yet tbe food was fair and tbe other waiter was loud and intrusive didnt help that they started cleaning the floors witb strong detergents . . So the smell ruined what ever taste the trout may have had.
We ordered two salads and some croquettes which were excellent. We then ordered two desserts of ice cream and were both very greedy in eating all our own awesome plates. If you like homemade ice cream be prepared to have your taste buds explode at the first bite. It is best ice cream my wife or I have ever eaten. My wife had caramel and I had butterscotch. We will be back to dine and sample further delights.
What a great time I had with my brother and his wife. I'm from Seattle and they always take their out of town friends here. Wonderful establishment. Hope to return someday soon.
An amazing evening and dinner! Food, service and atmosphere were excellent. Thank you so much for helping us start a fantastic evening.
Pleasant, cool environment with excellent timely, attentive service.
The Monte Cristo sandwich was not good. Just turkey grilled.
The food was outstanding, the dessert was out of this world, and the staff were top botch! Definitely going back!
Excellent greeting and information given. as we first came in. The host came continuously to assure we had all we needed. Wait staff was very timely and answered all questions very well. The cellar ambiance is very calming and makes on to come in every day. The food is very inviting, fresh and well prepared.
Love the patio!
It was our choice for a three-generation family dinner celebrating our adult daughter's birthday, and it will be our choice in the future. Everything was just right.
Excellent food and service as always when we go to Capitol Cellars. Atmosphere is nice with both indoor and outdoor seating. We consider it a neighborhood place as it is centrally located and near where we live. But accessible and frequented by people from all over. Excellent wine list and bar and reasonable pricing. Plenty of parking available nearby.
Interesting place with good service. Food, not so much. I ordered the trout with a baked potato and it came out super fast, meaning it was pre-cooked and warmed up. And it arrived at my table not so warm. Sent it back and the same piece came back a touch warmer. Was not impressed.
The hostess was not having her best day. Not very busy for a Friday night only 4 tables seated in the area we were in yet it was fairly loud.
We had a great server. We enjoyed our food very much. The halumi fries and the dipping sauce was really good. Spinach salad was excellent. Burger and prime rib equally good. We would definitely return.
Love the ambiance of this wonderful Boise restaurant! Our server was patient and timely. Can’t recommend this place highly enough
