   We loved it! The downstairs space is very cozy and we were sitting near a small space heater so we didn’t get cold at all. The Brussels were good, the lamb chops were absolutely brilliant! We ordered a Sangiovese wine which was very passable for the price. Our waitress seemed to be a little less knowledgeable about the wine menu than we would have wished but she was otherwise very good.

   Came in with my family and sat in the back room with the wine. Food and service were absolutely fantastic. Elizabeth did a wonderful job. Will definitely be going back!

   My husband and I were traveling from out of town. The last reservation we could get was 8:45 so we made an 8:30 reservation that evening after we checked into our hotel. The only thing we thought was good was our Brussels that we ordered as an appetizer. My French onion soup was room temperature, our drinks were mediocre, and my salmon was average. My husband’s burger was well done when he requested medium/rare we sent it back and it came back medium/well. Our service was even worse. Our waitress, Mia, wasn’t thrilled to be there or serve us. Never checked on us, and had to get another employee’s help with sending back my husband’s burger. So disappointing. We won’t be back.

   We liked this restaurant but I can’t say we loved it. It was really loud the entire time we were there. Our waitress was ok but not what I expect in a fine dining restaurant. They were out of lamb chops and were offering lamb shanks instead so my husband ordered the ravioli and it was ok but had entirely too much sauce and the portion was rather small for the price.

    Even after changing to a preset menu for Valentines Day, they overbooked and underperformed across the board. The food was horrible, service almost nonexistent and way overpriced. We had reservations at 6:30 - booked months in advance and ended up leaving without dessert 2 hours later. No one at the restaurant communicated with us or apologized for anything which I believe a good restaurant would do as it was clear we weren’t the only one’s disappointed.

    Restaurant life is not easy but they were totally unprepared. Our appetizer took 45 minuets to get. Dinner was served two hours late. We skipped desert due to the restaurant was full of people who had reservations after we did. The prime rib was not at all the quality I was hoping to see. Cant imagine the chef was pleased with his performance.

    Worst food we have had in a long time. Seemed like everything was out of a package and reheated, including the meat. So sad for the high price. Nice looking place with terrible food.

    We haven’t dined here in many years and were looking forward to visiting again. However, we were quite disappointed. The service wasn’t great - server can by once to check in on us after we got our food but never asked if we wanted another drink. The manager came by and we asked him. Also, my food was cold and the portion size was not worth the money. My husband did order a steak that was delicious so that was a positive. Overall, disappointing - especially since we don’t go out without our kids for nice meals very often.

    We have been one time previously, very happy again. Charming downtown restaurant. Great food and ambiance. Jason the GM makes you feel welcome right away. The food is excellent and the Martinis were perfect. This is an easy place to find, parking is easy and it is a special spot. Our favorite as new homeowners in the area.

    We were seated at a table at the entrance to the dining room. We felt like were sitting in the lobby. There are some great seats here and some really bad seats. I'll go back when the patio is open.

    We had a wonderful evening at Capitol Cellars. It’s a beautiful restaurant and the food is amazing (mostly). The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars for food is because the Caesar salad was basically tasteless. Everything else was spectacular. We ordered the Burrata for an appetizer and the burger and the salmon for entrees. As a bonus the ladies bathroom is lovely.

    Everything from the food to the staff to the ambiance was perfect. I had requested a romantic table, and I believe we got the most romantic table in the house. Over the top fun experience!

    It pains me to give a poor review of what used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Boise. But it just isn’t what it used to be. I should have listened to the other recent reviews. They increased the number of tables inside, making it feel a little crowded, and definitely louder. The professional wait staff used to be a highlight of the dining experience, but the quality of service has deteriorated. The food was mediocre at best. The texture of the risotto was fair, but too much truffle oil isn’t always better. Brussels sprouts were cooked inconsistently and poorly seasoned. The Cesar salad was so lightly dressed, we had to poke around to even find any dressing. My medium rare burger came out well done. And the Arribiata sauce on the ravioli reminded multiple palettes of Prego. And as much as I enjoy a meal filled with conversation and not feeling rushed to free up a table, an hour after ordering seemed a bit excessive to receive salads.

    Capitol Cellars' ambience, perhaps especially during the holidays, is gorgeous. It's cozy too. Staffing was short, making delivery of our drinks and meals was slow, otherwise I'd say the service was wonderful. My husband's prime rib and my lamb chops were scrumptious!

    Unique, downtown restaurant near Boise Capitol with political flair and historical decor. Loved dining in the room with the wine bottles adorning the walls. Great ambience, great service, great waitress. Really enjoyed our meal.

    Love this restaurant but was somewhat dissatisfied. Called to see if a special menu for Cmas Eve and was told it was the regular dinner menu. I thought perfect and looked forward to the chicken and burger for my kids. When we got there, they had taken it off the menu for the night and had to make an exception to serve the hamburger only. Reservations were at 3:45. When we were seated, the restaurant wasn’t full but it took over 1.5 to get out main course. Our soups and salads came out before our appetizer. Soup was barely warm & hardly any dressings on Caesar salads, had to ask for more. Only 5 slices of bread for the burrata (1 piece for each of us) and has more cheese than bread. Timing between the appetizer/salads and main course took awhile & people who were seated after us were served their dinner first. Our prime rib was good but baked potato was burnt. We started out with one Waitress and was switched to another because the first one was too busy. The restaurant seemed to has been overwhelmed for the occasion and maybe should have not take On as many reservations for the staff they had.
