Our server LiLi (elizabeth) makes our experience so nice that we keep coming back! She remembers us, seems happy to see us, has great attention to details, aims to please! Such good food- we love it!
Thank you! I'll let Lili know you said this!
We enjoy Cantina Laredo. Chips and salsa are very good. The Casarita was delicious, I had the Veracruz enchiladas, they are my favorite , love the cilantro rice and black beans that are sides.
My husband had the spinach enchiladas, he also enjoyed them. Sam was our server, she was very attentive.
Hi Henrietta! We're very glad you enjoyed your experience here! We look forward to seeing you again soon!
We were sat by the host, who was nice. About 10 minutes later, a server came by our table and asked if we had been helped, we told him no, and then he took our drink orders and that was the last time that anyone came to our table. We waited for 25 minutes and decided to leave. I get that the business might be short staffed, and I totally understand that, but it was unfortunate that not even one employee came to ask how we were doing. Other people were getting their drinks/food and it seemed like we didn’t exist. Hopefully it was just one unlucky experience because we’d like to check it out again!
The server failed to inform us that the bae closed at 8pm plus that they close at 9 they basically was kicking us out no warning or nothing very rude!
I'm very sorry about your experience. our hours are posted, and it sounds like you were allowed to stay an hour past closing time? or am i not understanding this review?
It is clear that this place is on its way out. It may be because of the pandemic and staffing. I do not know. The food was far below its normal caliber. That was my last time going there.
Our Server (Logan) was kind, gave outstanding service and attentive! Me & the wife were at the Branson Cantina Laredo a week early which inspired us to visit the Clayton location. The Casa Rita's at Clayton we're not the same as Branson but we're good. I would suggest getting the Branson recipe. My wife had the Relleno de Camarones at both locations. At Branson the dish presentation was on point with green Chile being stuffed with all the goodies. At Clayton the green Chile was not stuffed and hidden underneath all the goods and not a great presentation although the food was very tasty! We will most definitely re-visit!
Great food and service. Only wish would be for thinner chips.
GREAT food. Special requests were no problem. Waiter was absolutely incredible - he was also relatively new and really rocked it! Food was amazing, on time, hot and delicious. Staff were also very nice. Overall, it was a very pleasant evening in a very nice part of St. Louis!
The restaurant was short of staff, but our server did a great job trying to handle the extra tables.
Our server, Elizabeth, remembered us from previous dining times and took excellent care of us! The chicken enchiladas are excellent and are highly recommended! We had a great time. Lighting could be softer.
Very good food quality for the price
No heat in restaurant, so we had to keep our coats on. Ordered table side guacamole, it was prepared and we ordered our meal soon after. Quickly ran out of chips, so we could not finish the guacamole. Our server got two large tables simultaneously as our food arrived, so he never had time to check on our food. If he had, we could have explained it was incorrect. However, by the time he was able to get around to us, the rest of my food was cold and my husband had finished his meal. I asked if we could get some compensation on the bill or a round of drinks for the inconvenience. He never brought out the right food, and no charge was removed from the bill. We had been drinking margaritas and he did eventually bring us two more. Unfortunately, they tasted like pure sour mix so we left without drinking them.
Food was ok. They mixed up my order but brought me the right thing quickly. Cocktails were very good.
Really enjoyed our lunch on the patio on Saturday. We had the place pretty much to ourselves for most of the meal. The food was really nice, not traditional Mexican but quite good. Quite a variety of fun margaritas! Casual but upscale. I will keep this on my list of places to dine in Clayton!
Lots of sirens, kind of noisy, but can't do much about that.
Under-staffed and over-booked. More than 30-minute wait for a server. I’m sure the staff was doing the best they could; but no one appeared to be actively managing the situation.
Food was great
Looking forward to them getting back to their typical high-quality service soon
Hello Michael, thank you for your review. We are sorry that you had that experience. you are correct, we are understaffed and we had a surprising number of guests in addition to a large party and could not keep up. We are endeavoring to find sufficient staff but it has proven a slow process. We look forward to seeing you again, and hopefully we will once again be back at a proper staffing level.
Service was great, G money was fantastic.
Drinks were great.
However, the food was terrible Saturday night.
I work across the street and eat here often.
Two of us had pescado and the fish or sauce was rancid.
Another the fish taco and way over cooked.
The cabbage, mango and other veggies hard & chewy.
Others had fajitas that were better but way over cooked.
I’ll be back, but hope it was a one night happening.
Hello, we are very sorry that your experience was disappointing. May i ask who is "G Money"? We don't have any servers whose names begin with G and do not allow Servers to use nick names at work.
Great restaurant, great food friendly workers. Meals were better than expected. Recommend the mango flange for desert. I took my fiancé here for a date. The menu is moderate, but I prefer quality over quantity. We spent near $100 including tips, Price A lil but up there, but worth it.
Our waiter was very attentive and did a great job. Our margaritas were very good. The ceviche was awesome! Our main entrees were ok.
Excellent food and an excellent server
Visiting our son at WashU for the weekend. We all had fajitas and they were very tasty. It’s a great upscale alternative to busy, noisy El Burro, another nearby Mexican restaurant.
Great service and food. We had drinks at the bar and ate in the dining room which was a bit more secluded.
Great meal from the chips and salsas (one nicely smoky and the other perfectly spicy) and the made to order guacamole to the tacos and quesadillas. Service was pleasant. Just a little slow given the lack of a crowd at lunchtime. All in all an excellent experience. Will certainly return.
Service was great, food was good but not as good as previous time. House Margarita delicious.
So good! I would totally go again. Nice people, good food, great environment!!!
Halibut was excellent! I cannot say enough about the exceptional taste of the sautéed halibut and mango salsa. We also received great service. Thank you very much.
Lights off in most of restaurant. Superbowl Sunday almost felt like they were closed
Love their Sunday brunch with the complimentary Bloody Maria's.
Love their brunch with the complimentary Bloody Marías.
We partook in Restaurant Week. The food, service and atmosphere was wonderful. We will return.
Overall pretty good. The specials on the menu are pretty good
Cantina Laredo is OK. Unfortunately not many great options in st. Louis for Mexican food.
I made a reservation in advance and felt silly when we arrived and the restaurant was nearly empty! Paris was very friendly and attentive until the restaurant began to fill (including a party of more than 15). Unfortunately, I’m afraid he had too many tables to continue to be attentive and the kitchen was unable to keep up. There were five of us and 3 of us were served food that was literally lukewarm.
We have dined here several times in the past but definitely will need to forget this experience before we return again.
Nice atmosphere, quality service and excellent food! We especially enjoyed the table side preparation of our customized guacamole, which by the way, was amazing!
We decided on this restaurant for New Year’s Day. Food was amazing. Service was great. We will return!
Wonderful time as always!! Elyse was great!!
Server were top notch. Great margaritas. Excellent food. Adult Mexican. Sophisticated Mexican.
Great venue and food for the price point. However, I have yet to have a good experience with service. Three dining experiences and each time was mediocre to poor service. Thank you.
Nice place, good food, friendly and efficient staff.
Water boy was a bit feisty
Waiter was good could of checked on us more
