   Love this local Italian restaurant on Independence square. So many yummy dishes to choose from. Love the Italian grilled cheese, bruschetta appetizer, house salad, lasagna, the Mac n cheese, etc. seriously can’t go wrong. And amazing drinks and wine list. We always find a great bottle to split.

   First Experience at Cafe Verona. From the Hostess to the waiter was awesome. Very friendly atmosphere. I ordered the chicken Caesar Salad and it was amazingly delicious. I’ve ate salads before but this salad topped them all. I recommend anyone looking to try a new restaurant to go to Cafe Verona. I know I will be visiting again.

   We used to LOVE Cafe Verona! The food was always fabulous, however last night was not fabulous. The vodka sauce tasted like it came out of a jar. Disappointing experience.

   I took my wife out on a date there, it was our first time. Jayda our waitress she gave us phenomenal service, she recommended the braised ribs, and it was incredible!! We would go back in a heartbeat, and ask for her as our waitress again!

   Wonderful relaxing lunch with friends with excellent service. Only advice would be to be sure soup is delivered hot. I don't think anyone ever wants cold or even luke warm soup. Hopefully you'll consider not only offering sandwich and salad but also soup and salad. I recall a wonderful chicken strawberry salad that you served prior to the pandemic. Hoping some day you will bring it back! Again, service was outstanding.

   Everything was excellent! Making a reservation was easy, the dining room seating is great and noise levels were great so we could easily talk at our table even though the restaurant was full. Our server was friendly and knew the menu well. Wine selection was better than expected and we tried an awesome Chianti. Then we get to the food—-WOW! We all had leftover due to portion size and the prep was incredible. Definitely some of the best salmon, chicken, pasta, risotto and gnocchi we’ve ever had. Well done! We are so happy Verona opened back up after covid.

    We had a great lunch with friends and the food was fantastic. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was warm, quiet and comfortable. This is a must try if you haven’t.

    We had an excellent meal. Our vegetarian in the party had a wonderful zucchini pasta special as well as red pepper soup. Both were specials of the day. Delicious. My wife had an entree sized salad which she said could not have been better. I had the carbonara with Italian sausage added for a protein. Simple excellent to the last bite. Great food. Great service. Great ambiance. - Cafe Verona - highly recommended.

    Cafe Verona has long been one of our favorite restaurants, and we missed it when it closed during the Covid pandemic. We became aware recently that it had reopened. Our recent visit for an early lunch did not disappoint. The service was prompt and attentive. The side salad was outstanding, clearly an improvement from the past. Our appetizer, bread serving and entrees were all excellent. We will be visiting frequently.

    Cafe Verona is like stepping into another place on earth. The atmosphere and energy is warm. The food is always delicious and timely brought out. This particular trip was so we could experience their Restaurant Week menu. Each item we had was great! We are Kansas City vloggers so while we were there, we got footage for our YouTube channel. We can’t wait to share with the world! We will also pass along to our friends and family :)

    I love supporting my hometown and the local shops and restaurants around our downtown and center of Independence, MO on the Independence Square. A friend and I decided to support restaurant week and enjoyed the 3 courses at Cafe Verona very much. We had a great atmosphere for catching up and the seervice was unobtrusive, yet timely. My only note for the owner, is that at 8PM, all the lights were turned on and it was apparent that our night was over. The starkness of the atmosphere from our meal to the "get out" signal was not very customer friendly. I would address another manner in which to let customers know the restaurant is closed. Thanks

    We had lunch reservations for Monday of Restaurant Week. When we arrive the restaurant was closed. Why have Monday reservations open if that's the day you're closed?

    The location on the square was neat. The bar area is really neat! Good martini. Dining room pleasant, service very good. All our meals were good, eggplant starter could have been shared by all 4 of us. Caesar salads good. Salmon, Bolognese, and Chivken entrees all good. I would travel back just for the Tiramisu, it was awesome.

    We had a family meal. Some had not been to Cafe Verona before. Our Waitress, Shay, could not have been better. Suggesting menu items when we needed help and providing excellent service overall. The food could not have been better. Everything cooked to a turn. Simply delicious. Great service, great food, great conversation . . . things could not have been better. Highly recommended.

    Salad was mediocre. The bruschetta was so hard we could hardly chew it. Cheese was not melted. The wine was good. Not a repeat restaurant for me.

    We used to go here a lot and really enjoyed it. We quit around Covid and were wanting to come back. It has definitely changed. Smaller menu for sure, but my favorite, rigatoni sausage rosa was not on the menu anymore. I tried another pasta dish that I felt was pretty bland. Overall we were disappointed. Service was good though.

    Our waiter was Awesome! I ordered the Cesar Salad but they bought me the house salad and it was PHENOMENAL! So I’m happy my waiter bought me the wrong one😆 he was very apologetic. I also had a sandwich with chicken and pesto that was good too. My daughter had Penne Pasta with pesto that she liked but what had wanted a lil more seasoning. My husband ordered the flank steak with fries and asparagus that he also loved. It was our first time there but we’d definitely recommend!

    Th first time I visited, I would have given the food 5 stars. It was one of the best Italian meals I’d eaten since I visited Italy, and I could not quit thinking about how much I enjoyed it. This meal was good. There was absolutely nothing wrong with it. But I was underwhelmed it was obvious that the food was rushed and the presentation was sloppy. Maybe this is due to the fact that my first visit was during lunch and this visit was during dinner.

    What a wonderful meal from appetizers through desserts, Cafe Verona always delivers. Pesto penne was generous in proportion and flavors. The mushroom risotto was quite special and prepared perfectly. The mushroom fettuccine with shrimp was another star of the evening. Simply an outstanding meal.

    Two in our party of three ordered from the Brunch menu. The items were Crorque Monsieur and Oeufs Al Cocotte. Each dish seemed to consist mostly of bread. We will not try brunch again. The other person with us got the Pesto Chicken Flatbread and a house salad. She said it was very good. We have eaten the flatbreads on previous visits and found them excellent. Also the side Caesar or the house salads are great. We also enjoyed the breads served to the table. Cafe Verona is one of our favorite spots. We were just disappointed in the brunch dishes we tried.

    I made reservations through open table with the intention of entertaining my out of town guest. The reservation was confirmed for 10/3 at 6:30. I received a confirmation text and responded we would attend. We arrived to a locked gate & I later confirmed the restaurant is closed on Monday. Very frustrating and disappointing that the restaurant and booking service do not coordinate better. I gave low stars so I could proceed to the narrative. I’ve had good meals on previous visits.

    Great jazz music sets the stage for a great evening at Cafe Verona. We opted to have one of the flatbreads (chicken Alfredo ) in lieu of one of the antipasti menu choices (which all looked delicious) with an upgrade to Caesar Salad. This proved to be a great choice as the portions were large and delicious. Our entrees were excellently prepared consisting of short ribs and poblano and cacio e pepe. Highly memorable presentation - compliments to the chef, the services and the evening. Highly recommended.

    This was my first time visiting Cafe Verona. This restaurant has a beautiful ambiance and atmosphere, the food was delicious. Our server was great, checking on us occasionally and very pleasant. Myself, my fiance, and my daughter had lunch by reservation and am looking forward to dinner at Cafe Verona We had an opportunity to speak with the Manager/owner who told us more about the restaurant, such as upstairs dining which includes an area for groups, a space for small gatherings, and can provide a buffet for special occasions, a catwalk over the bar, and a small outside atrium dining area. Cafe Verona is perfect in every way and we will most definitely be frequenting this establishment.

    We had a nice dinner, and the food and service were great! The Pasta Alle Vongole and Brown Butter Sage Gnocchi were delicious, and I loved the roasted tomatoes throughout the meal in the salad and entrees. For our complimentary Anniversary dessert, we enjoyed the Citrus & Olive Oil Short Cake, and it did not disappoint! Thank you, Cafe Verona!

    Real nice place. The murals were beautiful and it has a cozy dining feel. The service was great as well as the food. Lots of pasta options to pick from and too many cocktails to choose from. It was our first time there for our anniversary and they gave us a complimentary dessert that was fabulous! Will definitely eat there again.
