Caf Prague in Morrison, Colorado is an upscale dining experience that offers a fusion of fine European and American cuisine. The menu includes items such as Hungarian goulash, German sausage, wild game and roast duck. Homemade desserts and a soup of the day are a delicious start and end to your meal at Caf Prague.
Enjoy the warm fireplace in the dining room in cold weather or sit near the open kitchen to watch your meal being cooked. There is also outdoor seating available for warm weather and the dining room welcomes groups of all sizes and ages at Caf Prague.
The food and atmosphere were good. The service was very slow, according to our waitress the hangup was in the kitchen. The food was good but overpriced. We will recommend Cafe Prague to friends but we will warn them about both the high prices and the slow service.
We also found that a couple of paintings in the restaurant were done by an old friend, that recently passed away. It was fun to see them.
Café Prague is always good and definitely tries to please.
As always, we enjoy Cafe Prague. IF you want an authentic European restaurant, especially one representing the Czech Republic, Cafe Prague is THE place! Although we we not able to dine outside and enjoy the wonderful patio (rainy weather), we really enjoy the atmosphere at Cafe Prague.
Always enjoy Cafe Prague. They have a selection of dishes from weiner schnitzel to fish. Enjoy sitting on the patio in the spring/summer/early fall. They have live music on the weekends. The wait staff are friendly. The owner always greets us with a smile. It's a nice little place to go for dinner and it has always provided us with a great experience!
Unfortunately the service was very slow. It appeared the poor waitress was task with too many tables. Bar service was very slow. A round of drinks ordered before the meal came after we ate dinner?
We have been to the restaurant several times and this was the best one because of the wait service-much better people than a year ago.
Owner very on top of things and professional
This evening was not our first visit to Cafe Prague, but was the first time we sat outside. The food was great, as always, and the Czech wines and menu selections are a delight. The service was great even though we got there at the end of the evening. If you like eastern European food, this is a great spot to dine!
My husband took me to Café Prague for my birthday and it was absolutely wonderful. We were greeted by the host, a nice man with a smile. We opted to sit outside, even though it had a chance of rain...the courtyard patio was beautiful. Many overlapping umbrellas did the trick when it started to drizzle. The pretty lights and nice décor really made you feel like you were eating in an European café. I ordered the traditional Czech dinner: Pork and Dumplings. It was delicious. My husband ordered the beef stroganoff...also delicious. The meat was very tender, and cooked a perfect medum rare... I grew up eating at a Czech restaurant in Manhattan called "The Ruc" as my father's family is Czech and this meal was about as authentic as you can get. We will definitely return.
This was my second visit to Morrison, CO and Cafe Prague, and my friend, son and his wife's first. I fell in love with it my first visit, and it has not changed. We had a superb meal - fresh and delicious; the service was top shelf; the setting is beautiful (sat outside this time). It is always a treat to return to a place and know that the food, service and experience remains constant. I highly recommend Café Prague to everyone !!!!
Went to Café Prague with business associates before attending a concert a Red Rocks. Dining room is a little dark and dated, but the service was friendly and efficient and the food was very good. Wine selections were limited, but solid choices and reasonably priced. Solid choice for a pre-concert dinner that may be easier to get into than some of the other local restaurants.
Another excellent experience at Cafe Prague. We had six in our group, and were offered either inside or outside seating. We chose inside, as it was a business meal, and we wanted a little quieter environment. Fortunately, we were given the "back room", and had a wonderful time and meal. Our waiter "Paulie" has been there a long time, and explained the specials thoroughly to our group (four of the six were first-timers). Everyone enjoyed the food, the service, and the ambiance.
Wonderful place to meet and enjoy such delicious food
Extremely appalling customer service. This was our 3rd visit, chosen for dinner before a Red Rocks concert. I thought our 515 reservation left plenty of time for 730 show, wrong. No hello or welcome greeting at the door-just a warning to order quickly as they expected 100 diners within the hour. We ordered as quickly as our server allowed-she also greeted us with the dire warning. 1 app, 4 entrees and a bottle of wine. It was 80 minutes before the entrees arrived. No apologies from the server or owner when we were able to flag them down, just more reiteration of the busy night excuse. I understand busy, I don't understand why the customer is treated as an inconvenience for coming on a busy night. I didn't let 100 people in the door when it opened. Our group of 4 arrived early when only 5-6 tables were occupied and watched multiple groups arrive after us and get served before us. The reason given for that?- those were tables of 2. Really? It wasn't true , they were groups of 4-5, but why should that matter? The server blamed the kitchen, the kitchen blamed the computer. I don't want to hear excuses, I want a sincere apology. And maybe comp that 2nd bottle of wine instead of providing a single complimentary piece of cake that we didn't have time to eat as we were already late for the show. Of our group of 4, we have 7 children who are long time restaurant owners, chefs, managers and servers. We understand the issues. None of them would never blame the customers for coming on a busy night.
Unfortunately, the owner takes no accountability for his own restaurant failings . The food is decent, heavy on the schnitzel, potatoes and red cabbage but that's their thing. The specials are lighter and have been very good. But we're never going back. Next time it's Tony Rigatoni's, just down the street. Rooftop bar, friendly staff. No schnitzel, or excuses.
A high lite for the town of Morrison, Colorado! Must watch out for the afternoon/evening rain showers while dining on the patio. The singer/guitarist was a nice touch for background music on the patio. The food, wine, and alcoholic drink menu's were extensive with quality you would expect from a great little restaurant.
Do not order roast pork cited as their national dish. It was underwhelming. Tasted like it was microwaved frozen overly processed meat. Do not order the strudel>tasted like canned diced apples. The Hungarian goulash and pork schnitzel was delicious. Order either of those and you will not be disappointed. Suggest you forego desserts.
Outstanding as always. Never had a bad meal at this restaurant.
Very quaint eastern European/German restaurant that took me back to my grandmother's kitchen!
First time we ate on the patio and it was terrific. Food was outstanding, as usual.
We frequent this restaurant a few times a year, and we always enjoy the experience, the food and the service. We vow to visit more often! The outdoor patio in the summer is a real treat, though the traffic noise can't be helped. The Walleye fish dinner is the best I have had anywhere. Many other great dinner options to try.
As always food is well thought, presented well and tasty, service is excellent!
We really love the East European food which is expertly prepared. The outdoor patio is lovely!
The restaurant itself was beautiful. The service was great. The only issue was the steaks. Both of our steaks were well over cooked. Our waitress did offer to take the steaks back but we were limited on time. Perhaps one of their more traditional dishes would have been better.
A warm evening, a pleasant setting, a good meal and wine. It is hard to beat. The small town of Morrison, near Denver, with plenty of parking. We had no difficulty in making a reservation at the time we requested and were seated on the patio. A guitarist was singing quietly, service was outstanding and the advice on wine excellent. I might have liked more texture in my sauerbraten, but the sauce was good and the red cabbage excellent. The dessert list was outstanding. A good evening slightly reminiscent of old times, other places. The food was not foraged, the dishes not unusual and the menu was not explained endlessly, but we enjoyed ourselves. It was not inexpensive, but the overall experience was worth the price.
We had a lovely meal at the Cafe Prague, but there was nothing remarkable or special about it. The service was great, but we had hoped the food might seem a bit more interesting or unique. We were there before a concert at Red Rocks--this is clearly an important part of the Cafe's business during the summer--and they were wonderfully responsive to our time constraints. We'd happily eat there again before a Red Rocks concert, but I don't think it would be a destination in and of itself. And I'm sorry to say that.
We LOVE this restaurant! The owners are very personal- Thomas and the staff is wonderful! The food is always the best, cooked, prepared perfectly! We've been going here for at least 12 years and we have never had a bad meal! Always consistent and the value for what you get is amazing! It's not a "small plates" place! You get more than you pay for!
Had a great time with my family and the food-service-outside was agreat night out-left a present on the table and the waitress ran and fished it out of the garbage now that is service!!!😀😀🍗🍸🍸🍷🍷also pronounced my Czech name properly--impressed
We find the food here a very nice change from the usual fare in Denver. We have been many times, and especially wish to mention the very cold drinks from the bar, the paintings on the walls of Prague, and the extra drink at the end of the meal
One of our new favorite restaurants! I lived in Prague and this is the best Czech food I've had in the states. The restaurant has great atmosphere. The meal is unhurried with time to linger and enjoy (and the food comes out hot and fresh!) The menu itself has a lot of variety from local Czech classics to more common European favorites. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about Cafe Prague. We will definitely go back!
We visited Cafe Prague to dine with some friends who we hadn't seen in over a year. The table was ready at exactly the time we reserved. The wait staff was polite, prompt and professional. We ordered the daily specials (cod, halibut and roasted pork shank) and they were cooked to perfection. The Pilsner was very good and the Pinot Noir recommended by our waitress was perfect with the pork. I would recommend visiting and we'll definitely be back.
Terrible, slow, unorganized and inattentive service. Food was fair at best and extremely overpriced. We will not be back and wouldn't recommend to anyone.
Expensive and main meal not very good. Cocktails, appetizer, and desert were good. Manager of restaurant was very rude to employees. Won't return.
Group of six. Made reservation that morning and had us by the door (great seats). Parking was available right across the street. For a sidewalk town that was a plus. Service was impeccable and left no room for critique. I think everyone on the staff checked in with us at some point. Not nosy just attentive. Good euro/chech/German selection on the menu, beer/wine selection was appropriate, too full for desert. Apps were awesome - shrimp, shrooms, Cali, and Bree were great. Don't expect much from the mashed pot. But the red cabbage was great. Meat was great - we had cod, veal, pork, and a selection of sausages. Outside looks humble but inside has been reno'd to the hilt. Clean and trendy. I would go back. Cool town too. Take some time to walk around the block.
The food was excellent. The service was generally high quality except they were condescending when I asked if they did anything special for graduation celebrations. The server said they weren't that kind of restaurant, that Applebees would be more that style. Considering I've eaten in white glove restaurants that do a little something special, it was pretty insulting.
First time diner, will definitely go back. Food was fantastic.
We love this place! The food, the service, the ambiance are always excellent and never vary. You cannot go wrong with Tomas and his staff.
We have eaten at Cafe Prague several times before. The food is always prepared perfectly and the service has always been very attentive. We took friends who had not eaten there before and they were very impressed with the overall experience. We will certainly return there again.
Roast Pork was very dry. As was the Sauerbraten. The cup of soup the waiter called "Beef Goulash Soup" tasted exactly like Progresso Beef Vegetable canned soup with some added spices. Even the texture of the beef pieces is exactly like Progresso. Service was extremely slow, though the waiter was cordial. To their credit, they did take the Roast Pork off the bill without me asking. Our 15 year old ordered the NY Strip and he said it was good. I really wanted to like this place as we love Eastern European cuisine, but left disappointed. Worse meal I have had in a long time.
We have been several times now to Cafe Prague. Recently we celebrated my 55th birthday, they had us set up in the back private room that has a attached door to go outside on the patio. The room was dressed beautifully, our waitress Ava was an absolute doll! Every dish is prepared to perfection, and every effort is made to prepare a meal exactly the way you like it! I can't say enough good things about Cafe Prague, it is a wonderful treat to go there and the staff will treat you like a family friend! I highly recommend this restaurant, it is one of my top 5 in all of the Denver Metro area!
