Loved the food (CALAMARI!)....and the service! Excited about the new back bar and will try it next time!
The food here is excellent! Best escargot I ever had. Every dish was delicious! We are planning our next date here!
This was our first dining experience with Cafe Normandie. Atmosphere was pleasant although very tight quarters with seating arrangement. Staff was all friendly but service was a little slow. Food was very good until the desserts came. We were extremely underwhelmed. Both our desserts had little to no taste and seemed like they were defrosted from a box of something you could find at Costco or Sams. I would recommend this restaurant...just skip dessert
Excellent food and service. We are frequent visitors. Highly recommend.
Nice location, the ambiance is quite romantic and cozy. The food was just okay though - I had the baked brie, salmon and fruit tart. The baked brie was good (not amazing but good), salmon was delicious - not overcooked though the side of somewhat bitter vegetables didn’t go with the rice with carrots and peas. Also the fruit tart which I was looking forward to more than anything had a bitter taste. Not good. Our server was quite busy so not as attentive or quick as he could have been. Overall - meh.
Classic restaurant in Annapolis. Have not been there in about 5 years. The decor is very homie, has not been changed in a while. Food was very good as well was the service. We were there for restaurant week so yes it was a good value.
The appetizer and entrée were very good. The bread served with the meal was outstanding.
One of our city's best restaurants...salve for the sorrow of those who loved the late Les Folies...we are fortunate to have this 33-year-old landmark, chef-owned by founder Jean-Louis, carry on the French tradition. Merci millefois to Jean-Louis!
Went for restaurant week and was sadly disappointed. The restaurant was filled to capacity and the tables were so close together I could’ve shared my neighbors food. It was so loud we left before finishing our meal. They did not seem to have enough wait staff for the amount of customers. All this could have been overlooked if the food was great but unfortunately it all seemed very average. Onion soup great as usual but vegetable side dishes presented as -and tasted like-Birds Eye frozen veggies. What a shame. Would try again on a quieter night but not in a hurry. Disappointed that one of our fave places was so mediocre
We had a delightful meal at Cafe Normandie. The restaurant was as crowded as we have seen it in 20 years so there was a wait for service after we were seated. Our server, Giselle, apologized for the wait and everything was perfect from there. We each enjoyed our meals. My steak was the best I've had anywhere in years. My husband said his trout was quite good and the fruit tart for dessert even more so. It's been our experience that Cafe Normandie has been a reliably excellent place for the 20+ years we have been going there.
Great French cuisine lunch during Annapolis Restaurant Week. Ambiance is very pleasing. Service was a bit slow but was expecting that due to high demand. We were with friends and very much enjoyed the time to socialize. I would go back especially for the onion soup.
Friend had crepes -- always has crepes there because they're so good. I had rack of lamb -- done to perfection! Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff. Even though our waiter doubled as the bartender, he was responsive when we called -- and very pleasant.
Cafe Normandie is one of our favorite restaurants in Annapolis -- always consistently outstanding.
Our most recent visit to Cafe Normandie was during Restaurant Week. We were impressed by how supportive they were of this week, offering a 3-course lunch (with lots of options available) at the same prices that other restaurants were offering a 2-course lunch. Because of this, the restaurant was very busy and servers were hopping, but they all remained very pleasant and attentive. The food was yummy. This restaurant is one of the gems of Annapolis.
Absolutely love Cafe Normandie! Another wonderful meal and it happened to be Annapolis Restaurant Week so it was an incredible value too! Our server Jiselle was excellent - very friendly and met all of our needs. Our food was delicious and perfectly prepared. Highly recommend...we will definitely be back!
Great service, the settings and ambiance are great.
We are visiting Annapolis and every place we have eaten has served us lukewarm food! Not here! Everything was hit and delicious!! Highly recommend the onion soup!!
We had a fabulous meal during restaurant week! The food was delicious and the service exceeded our expectations!
We absolutely adored the food. The duck with raspberry sauce was the best duck I have ever tasted. Everything was delicious and the service was good. We weren’t huge fans of our table, since it was our 8 year anniversary and we had hoped for a more quiet table but we were in a corner by the kitchen door which was very hectic. The tables are also very close together so there’s not a lot of elbow room. But, we will definitely go back for the food on another, quieter day of the week (we went on a Saturday during restaurant week, so makes sense).
This restaurant is always so very good and for Annapolis restaurant week it was a gem! They offered 5 different entree options, appetizer options and 3 dessert options at the same price as all the participating restaurants -- the best option of the group. We loved the service. Our waiter was super-friendly and attended to us with perfect timing. I made the reservation quite late in the week so our table was upstairs and the noise level is a bit high. Make your reservation early to get a seat near the center fireplace!
Another wonderful meal at Cafe Normadie, we're already looking forward to our next visit.
Sat by the fire - lovely on a cold winter's night. And great service - always attentive. And be sure to have the mousse pate! Lovely
We decided to eat at Cafe Normandie on the spur of the moment. We had an early event to attend, so I called for a 8:00PM reservation., and tehy were able to accomodate the two of us. The restaurant has a warm comfortable atmospherewith lots of wood surrounding the comfortable booths. We split a duck mousse appetizer that wasa plenty for two. The consistency and flavor of the mousse were terrific. My wife has the halibut and fennel special. She asked our server about it or an another item, and his response was great. "The Halibut served in this manner is not on the menu often, so he would suggest trying it if you cannot decide between the two. He was on the money. I must add that he was very professional and checked on us and if the meal was to our liking, but was not at all intrusive The portion was generous and the fennel was a wonderful pairing. I had the veal with mushrooms in a flavorful rich brown sauce. Again the portion was generous and the veal was as tender as I have had in awhile. Because of the hour, we skipped dessert and cofffee, but we will be back!!!!
Cream of tomato soup and trout almondine was terrific. Our server was attentive. If I had to make one recommendation, I would offer different vegetable sides. The sauteed sugar snap peas and pieces of baby carrots were a bit lacking.
Great food and service. Will definitely go back.
Exceptional food and service as always! Thanks for a wonderful evening!
Jean Louis personally came to say Hi and check on the quality of the meal
Everything was delicious
Best bouillabaisse we've had anywhere, including France!
Jackson was an outstanding waiter - first class. As was the presentation, meal and overall experience
Lovely little authentic French restaurant! Escargot was fantastic. Really good wine list. I highly recommend for a romantic dinner!
We have missed this place since moving away from the area and make it a point to return whenever we visit Annapolis. Not only do they never let us down, this visit was one of the best. We’re very happy that they’re still going strong more than 20 years since our first visit.
Everything was terrific, as usual. One of my favorite restaurants in Annapolis. It is consistently very good!
The meal was superb. We lucked out as the soup of the day was New England clam chowder. Anna was our server and is the best.
The food was great and the service was excellent. We celebrated our daughter’s birthday at this restaurant with a couple of her friends. We were able to have a great conversation as it was not a noisy place. I highly recommend this restaurant.
First time for us and very glad we tried out Cafe Normandie. A bit pricey but well worth it for special occasions like Valentines Day. We'll be back!
Dinner was outstanding!!
The food is okay but not worth the price. Service was okay but it took us more than two hours to leave the place. I mean, I love my husband but we were over with our date night. It’s over rated! First time there, but don’t think we’ll be back in a while
Food was very good, however our server was a little less than attentive. I know it was Valentine's Day, but he seemed to be just "phoning it in." We were there in the summer and had a wonderful time.
Once again Cafe Normandie was a special place for us on Valentines Day. A great ambience with a great selection from their ❤️ Menu - created just for the occasion. The Halibut and it’s supporting presentation was superb. The rack of lamb was indeed a rack with a subtle au jus that did not dominate, in fact it help elaborate the l’aneau.
Couple that with a crisp sav blanc de France, a heart dessert, great service and voila! A memorable dinner and great experience! See you again soon!
