It’s a lovely, intimate restaurant. Elizabeth was a fantastic server, checking on us without being obtrusive. She saw to it our Rose wine was kept ice cold. The escargot was served with a sublime sauce. My friend had the Hanger steak and raved about it. I had the veal cutlet served in a very tasty Charon sauce.
Superb presentation of generous portions of gems like lamb chops, oyster salad, mussels. Proof of vaccination required, bravo!
Lovely evening, charming eclectic ambience and savvy service.
Magical! Excellent food and service! Ambience is lovely.
Food was disappointing in regards to seasoning and complexity. Not their usual higher standards and not worth the $$.
Atmosphere was amazing. Service top notch. Food and drinks excellent!
Great ambience, service and food!
Cafe Degas is one of our favorite dining spots in New Orleans. The service is superior and the atmosphere is unique and welcoming.
Excellent service and food. Atmosphere is amazing
Degas has been my favorite restaurant for almost 20 years. ♥️♥️♥️
Very unusual and fun place. Can eat inside or outside.
Onion soup was only fair, broth was lacking in flavor. Steak frite-tough meat, more veggies then meat. Wahoo was very good. Very slow bar service. So disappointed
Cafe Degas has great service and a really nice atmosphere. The food is consistently good and I love their dessert board! I go there frequently and would highly recommend it to locals and tourists alike!
I just love the aesthetic of this place -your literally eating in like a fairy tree house or something. The food is on point & moderately priced. And BC is a damn funny waiter!
Fantastic service and staff! Great place to catch up with longtime local friends.
We went to Cafe Degas for brunch to celebrate my daughter and her fiancée! It was delicious!
Always pleasant and a good value. Consistent quality
One of our favorite restaurants in New Orleans! Great food, ambiance, cocktails, and service.
Everything was exceptional except they do not offer separate checks.. that’s hard when you have a larger group of diners.
Fun place to be , stuff if very pleasant however not very attentive . After we we served we could not find anyone to
Order another glass of beverage until it was time pay .
Food was good arrived on time , my companions enjoyed their rack of lamb . Duck was ok however sides were horrible , purple sweet potato tasted like cardboard
Overall fun place
Too much butter on everything
Cool place. Kind of small and very tightly packed but has a ton of character. Great service and fantastic food. Recommend highly!
Always top notch rustic french bistro cuisine. A true neighborhood gem!!!!
Food is incredible, service is a little condescending.
Always enjoy Cafe Degas. Took an out of town person there for lunch because I know it will be a good experience. Also, I find their prices reasonable compared to some other places of equal level.
Food was excellent. Our waiter acted as if he didn't want to be there, or he didn't want us there. I'm not sure. The food came fast and he didn't check when our drinks were low and was less than enthusiastic when we turned down dessert and he had our check at the ready not two seconds later. He wasn't unpleasant and did his job, but that was all. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was pretty cool.
Date night for the wife and I. Food was delicious, the service was great. Wonderful restaurant in Mid City. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Somehow this established bistro dropped off of our restaurant rotation awhile ago. So we were quite excited when we got to experience the same fabulous authentic French cuisine we recalled from past dining experiences. It’s all correct from the menu to the atmosphere. We are blessed to have a true taste of France right here in our Crescent City.
Lots of plants, food was good, area nice. Parking was a little tight, and table was a little small, but overall really nice place. I’d recommend it and go back.
Great setting, friendly and professional staff; food needs some freshening up, so may be fine for some people but foodies may want to look elsewhere right now.
Made our Russians who just got off the plane so so happy to experience this great dining in the most amazing atmosphere of the outdoor lighting cafe!
Service has gone downhill since COVID. New staff is not like the great staff before COVID, Gustav and the bartender were great before,!
You just feel like a number or that you are at a fast food restaurant. Ambiance is great, music should have been better. This is sad because it is one of the best restaurants in the city for locals. I will go back hopefully service improves.
Wonderful brunch! French onion soup was wonderful; the grits & grillades were the perfect comfort food for a chilly day. Server Maya was knowledgeable, warm and very informative. What a great place to spend the morning - highly recommended!
Love the pate and grilladesand gritsWe will come back!
Always exceeds my expectations! Everything was perfect and what you expect from a nice night out for dinner. The food was creative and delicious. We sat on the expanded outside deck area and it was wonderful. All of it topped of by our waiter, Gustave. He was patient, knowledgeable about food and wine pairings and a delight! Will be back more often!
great food, spacious, great servuce
Service was wonderful. The Crawfish ravioli with the dill Buerre Blanc sauce was outstanding! Entrees were a little pricey for the value, and we loved the bread and butter. Should have asked for more. My Steak (with Pomme Frites) was cooked to perfection!
Beautiful restaurant with wonderful ambiance. The escargot was delicious, along with the quail salad. The French onion soup would have benefitted from a more robust flavor, but was still yummy. The speckled trout was to die for!
The lamb was amazing
Wonderful in every aspect. Easily the best meal I had in New Orleans.
