Never disappointed at Cafe Degas!
Our waitress was most exceptional! She added pleasure to our experience. ⭐️
Café Degas never disappoints… we ordered the escargot, which by far, is THE best I’ve ever had. I dined on the Drum fish, which was grilled and served with potatoes and asparagus. It was cooked to perfection! My husband ordered the pork chop, and he loved it, too. I highly recommend the Lemon Ice Box Pie for dessert followed by some Chartreuse Vert. It was the perfect end to a perfect evening!
Cafe Degas is a 35 year old New Orleans culinary gem on Esplanade Ave. The service and food were nothing short of first class. The ambiance was intimate yet tropical, giving you the feeling of being one with nature. The outdoor dinning was comfortable thanks to personalize, table centric A/C units.
Loved it. It was the perfect place for a leisure lunch with a nice cocktail!
We went for a special anniversary dinner while vacationing in New Orleans. The vibe was great, service was top notch and food was excellent. We enjoyed everything about this dining experience. The rack of lamb was AMAZING!
From appetizers to desserts everything was over the top flavorful. The escargot and the mushroom/crawfish ravioli were delicious; lamb rack was prepared perfectly as were the roasted veggies and sauce sides, fried soft shell crab was fresh and served over a watermelon radish salad that was a great combo of flavors. Lemon pie and the banana pistachio cake were both delicious. Service was not rushed, but well timed. Definitely will return!
An old favorite, back open again for lunch on the weekend. Super friendly, professional service by Tyler. We had crepes, onion soup and quiche, all excellent.
Have been going to Cafe Degas for many years....never disappoints.
Awesome!! Everything was perfect
My favorite place. I’m so glad to finally get to go again
Wonderful french menu with excellent service. The food is delicious.
My favorite anytime restaurant! ❤️❤️❤️
This restaurant was always one of my favorite stops on my trips to NOLA. I don’t know if they have a new chef, but the food was not as good as in previous visits. The salad Nicoise was not prepared in their usual terrific style ,instead now slathered with a mayonnaise dressing, not tasty or appealing. Also missed their delicious French bread, now replaced with a flavorless roll. The service remained high though.
Excellent food. Great ambiance for date night. Server was not knowledgeable and seemed over his head. Restaurants are having difficulty hiring and getting back into swing if things so I don’t want to be too critical. I would definitely go back!
Ambiance was a blend of quirky and romantic, very French. Overall very charming, and the food was great. They also have an excellent cocktail menu
Good food and great atmosphere! Very fun
I love the atmosphere at Cafe Degas. The food and service are always reliable.
The lamb chops were amazing, and so was the restaurant environment. The service and other food needs a bit of work.
So disappointing, good was cold and soggy. We wanted to ask the chef questions that the waiter couldn't answer but he refused to talk to us.
Fantastic! It is a jewel in NOLA. Service and food are exceptional; totally recommended.
we loved this quaint little neighborhood restaurant - definitely a favorite with the locals
Great food and waiter was very knowledgeable !
A delightful experience and we really enjoyed the food!
Wonderful except for our table was adjacent to the work station! Birdseye view of the dishwasher and salad and pastry chef at work! As well as every dish scraped by the wait staff. Despite a reservatipn for our anniversary!
Delicious menu, great ambiance. A must if you only have a few nights in New Orleans.
This was our first experience dining out since pre-covid, we were very comfortable in the space. Service & food were great. We love the ambiance at Cafe Degas!
My first luncheon out with my friends since Covid. I felt safe the food was outstanding our waiter was very accommodating. I would not hesitate to return.
Very pleasant a breath of fresh air in a bustling city.
I met my son’s girlfriend for the first time Sunday at Cafe Degas. She was lovely and so was the ambience and the food at Cafe Degas.
Café Degas is my favorite place to brunch. The ambiance and food is always fantastic, service was impeccable and I love the people who dine there on the weekends. You almost always see someone you haven't seen in a while and everyone is smiling. Good vibes and a great way to spend a Sunday.
The sewage and water board broke a water main and shut off the water so we were turned away because of it. I was so disappointed because we had a birthday/engagement lunch. I voiced my disappointment and wondered why no one called me. The hostess screamed in my face that she wasn’t going to get paid so it wasn’t just my problem.
Really great service and atmosphere.
Always a treat - garden-like atmosphere, attentive service, delicious food!
Had an amazing birthday dinner, underwhelmed by dessert but the overall vibe was excellent!
The food was just so so. Must have lost their chef that gave them high ratings.
Outside tables - beautiful! Ambiance a plus! The wine selection is spectacular. The mussels (from PEI) were humongous & tender with a very good "sauce."
Wish the waiter hadn't (I think) forgotten about us /to take our order! Busy night. Wish the fried soft shell crab had been cooked thoroughly. The frying batter tasted great, though.
Apart from that, fabulous!
Food was t ty ke best yet on this trip! Service was awesome and friendly. We had a great experience!
