Cafe Champagne Restaurant - Thornton Winery Ratings and Reviews
It was worth the drive for a late lunch.
The food was excellent, we had the special of the day, lamb chops over a fresh salad and an very good mint dressing.
Being a winery, we had some wine tasting, excellent recommendations from our server.
The deserts were excellent especially the tiramisu.
Highly recommend this place especially for outdoor sitting with beautiful surroundings.
They bring in good live music in the weekend.
Great food, but we keep coming back for the great service and location. We had disabled in our party and there were no problems with seating. None of us are drink alcohol and this still is one of our favorite places to have a family gathering with members who are coming from several different counties.
We went to celebrate a birthday Christmas Eve. We were sat in the covered patio area and it was freezing!! The food was not impressive whatsoever! Pasta was watery, Cesar salad had tortilla chips omit and the bread is $5.00 a loaf for the table. The prices are extremely expensive and they include the tip for you. Wanted to enjoy the evening but was sadly disappointed.
Unfortunately the poorest value of any of the TV winery restaurants.
Out meal was poorly prepared; filet was worst I've ever had.
Wait staff did their best.
Lighting too bright.
Door to patio constantly open and close which led to constantly getting a cool blast of air every 5 minutes.
Service is great, the staff is very friendly and cheery which is always nice, especially during the holiday!ms! But the food is absolutely inedible at exorbitant prices and the facility is in need of serious repair and updating. Even though the girls were nice, I will never go back.
We were here Friday night and enjoyed it so much we came back Saturday night for dinner. We enjoyed the meat & cheese board which was huge and delicious.
Conor - our waiter - made some great suggestions on the wine and everything was to our enjoyment. He suggested the crispy artichoke hearts and I'm glad he did. Fantastic!!
Restaurant called as I was driving to meet friend there and informed me that their kitchen would stop taking orders at 1:10 p.m. Not sure why they allowed someone to make a 1:00 reservation if that was the case (they could have called one or two days before to let me know and see if I wanted to move the time of my reservation. Incredibly disappointed - won't go back!
Although the blackened seasoning made the swordfish inedible, everything else was great. Get the Lobster ravioli with scallops. The Calamari was excellent. It's a little pricey but your paying for eating at a winery in Temecula. It's expected. We are outdoors as the dining room indoors was empty and had a cold echo feeling. Not very warm or inviting. At least outside you had the view and a warm breeze!
Stopped by for an early dinner last Sunday. We enjoyed the champagne flight and the brie cheese. I also ordered the Cesar salad. It was just OK. It came with store bought tortilla strips, not what I expected on a $14 salad. I also ordered the Chicken saltimbocca. The chicken was on the dry side, it had ham but not cheese. It was topped with a tomato sauce and served with zucchini. This dish was a healthy version on your typical Italian Saltimbocca. Our table shared the butterscotch pudding, that was delicious. I also enjoyed our champagne flight. The bill came out to almost $300 for 4, which I felt was a bit high for the quality of food.
So this was an open air concert night with all the usual noise and bustle. We like this place because the concert food (not the regular menu) is typically good. With so many guests once the concert starts at 6 pm the wait staff and the kitchen is running flat outtill near 9 pm. So the trick is to arrive early and order quickly otherwise you may wait an hour for food. Of course there is plenty of decent wine to help 🎉
Service was mediocre at best, as was the food. Prices were outrageous. Artificial flowers on the tables at the overpriced restaurant. Took 40 min for the meal though only 5 tables, out of many, needed service. The chef blamed new staff on problems and miscommunication, instead of taking responsibility himself. Manager credited us for a meal, which was a good gesture. Would not recommend place to anybody.
Our group of six was very happy with our gathering and would come again. Our server was extremely helpful and cooperative when I requested that, if possible, she split the costs of our birthday girl between the others in our party. Although she didn't think it would be possible, she was able to make it happen, which we appreciated. My only complaint would be that when the split checks were distributed, no mention was made of the already-included gratuity on each check. I noticed it and mentioned it to some in our party. Thank you for a great afternoon with wonderful food and service!
