Acclaimed by local and regional food writers as one of the best New Orleans Restaurants, Cafe Adelaide is a favorite of local residents as well as visitors. Modern Creole Cuisine featuring seafood and farm fresh ingredients is the cornerstone to "eating, drinking, and carrying on" at this Commander's Palace Family Restaurant. Cafe Adelaide is led by Executive Chef Meg Bickford.

The Swizzle Stick Bar is a nod to the Brennans' beloved aunt, Adelaide Brennan, whose joie de vivre and charming pursuit of the good life is captured in the decor and design. Named for the gold swizzle stick that Adelaide wore around her neck, this fun watering hole is getting a lot of attention reviving classic cocktails.

A friend and I went for lunch and ordered two ice teas and two steak salads. The bill after tip was $75. Seems a bit much for a tea and as salad.

Good food, cool atmosphere, slow service. Wait staff polite but not well trained. It took more than 15 minuets to get a cocktail. Waiter was quick to take our order and was a nice person. Was odd to have food start arriving before we had our drinks. Not intended but was rushed.

Went for Valentine's day. My wife had the special that includes a glass of wine, filet mignon with a small side and a bread pudding dessert. Best filet she has ever had. She thought the dessert was ok (I thought it was delicious). I had the garlic cauliflower soup, salmon, and creme brulee. The soup and dessert were perfect, the salmon was good but the serving was smaller than I am used to. We will definitely go again!

We've dined at Cafe Adelaide before and were disappointed with this experience. This was the day after Mardi Gras, so perhaps they were worn down after a long weekend of celebration? The wait staff was nice and polite, but....they were amateurs compared to the usual excellent service that the Brennan Family of restaurants is known for. I feel spoiled and petty with the following review, but, service always seems to be the pinnacle of a Brennan restaurant experience. The wait staff spilled a beverage on the table (hey, accidents happen), but the arduous task of changing the table linen was handled...awkwardly. A carafe of water was placed on the table (thank you very much), but the wait staff never took an opportunity to replenish our glasses when she was there. We were not offered coffee or desert, but were just presented with a check and then had to ask for these things. We were taking food home and given 2 boxes to carry, with no bag. The host saw us walking out and immediately gave us a carrying bag. I will reiterate that the wait staff was nice and polite. They do need further training in order to be the caliber of professionalism that the Brennan family has established with their eateries. We did enjoy the food. The turtle soup is always amazing. Quarter martinis were a welcomed treat (do know that this a smaller version than what you may normally receive, but still, it's only a quarter!), our main entries were delicious, though my grits (shrimp and grits) were too salty. We'll probably give Cafe Adelaide another shot, but with so many wonderful places to go in NOLA, they need to up their game.

Lovely brunch during a busy Mardi Gras season. The bananas foster French toast was fantastic.

Actually the food was not that good. The waitress acted like we were bothersome.
The whole atmosphere was kinda gloomy. One waitress, not ours, kept glaring and making angry faces.
The place was only about 3/4 full so not super busy. They put butter on the tables. Then about 15 minutes later gave us our drinks. We just kept looking at the butter.
Is bread going to magically apear? No
Finally receive food and asked for some bread. Again look of annoyance.
Two days later we went to Brennan’s for breakfast and it was beyond fabulous.
This place was horrible all the way around!

Great food and real close to Mardi Gras parade route. Hard to find Shrimp Corn Dogs any where but here.

We had a reservation for 1130 AM for 4 and arrived about 15 minutes early. The restaurant was empty and we were asked to wait in the bar area. Service was good - polite, etc. but slow...this was a lunch on a Tuesday and we ordered an appetizer (the bayou beignets - wouldn't recommend, very dense & dry) followed by our main orders. Three of our attendees ordered the "choose two" lunch special and the second course of that was extremely slow in delivery - we sat for 15-20 minutes in between courses...very long lunch. In terms of the food - I had a salad which was good; the pick two meals were full servings of each dish - a lot of food.

Went on Sunday night during NFC championship. My wife and I were the only diners throughout the meal, though the bar next door was full of people watching the game. We had turtle soup, Roast drum, Shrimp and grits, and raspberry sorbet. All dishes were well prepared and tasty. Dylan and Aaron took very good care of us, and we had a nice visit with Sous Chef Serigne.
