Super awesome food and service, will definitely visit its again.
This place is a hidden gem! Best seafood in Portland.
I had the steak and she had the Cioppino. We each loved our dishes. The service was very friendly and very fast and it did not take very long to get our food. Everything was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious!
My favorite restaurant in Portland, hands down. And I have been to many.
Awesome as always.
I never knew this charming place even existed. The food was delicious, and the service was casually attentive. We will return.
Consistently delicious food. Kind and caring staff willing to go the extra mile.
Cabezon is always a great option, the foos is always good and the service is friendly and welcoming.
This is a favorite restaurant of ours.
I always like their unique offerings. I had cod and it was delicious. Would recommend highly.
Absolutely lovely time!!! Adore this spot. Really incredible food and a great atmosphere. The chive blinis to start are nothing short of sensational. Can’t wait to go back!
Unfortunately we were underwhelmed with our dinner experience at Cabezon. It was our first time there and we had high expectations after talking to friends and reading reviews. Our server was pleasant but vanished halfway through our meal. The complimentary bread was tasty but cold, as was the small chunk of butter that came with it, which made it difficult to spread. The Caesar salad was lovely. My husband ordered the cioppino, their signature dish, and it tasted very bland to him. I ordered the lamb pasta and it was fine, though very salty. We split a chocolate pot de creme for dessert, which was a huge serving, so I’m glad there were two of us to eat it! It was extremely thick (the most solid pot de creme I’ve ever eaten) but tasty. Overall, we felt we didn’t get our money’s worth and we most likely won’t be back.
Server was informed and made good suggestions. Company and Atmosphere were enjoyable and the food was perfect!
We have been dining at Cabezon for years! We commented to each other as we left the restaurant that we have never had a bad meal. Consistent! Great service and flavors! We love Cabezon!!!
Consistently good experience. Great flavors and profiles, nice pace of service, and a quality wine list for wonderful pairings.
Great anniversary dinner!
Anniversary Dinner. Cioppino and Nrw York Strip were delicious
The service is great and the staff does a good job explaining the assorted menu items. Terrific service and fresh seafood!
My wife and I lived in the San Francisco area and had missed having Cioppino. Other local restaurants do not come close. Cabezon does it right!. I thought the Caesar salad was the best I've ever had. Friendly but not intrusive wait staff. Very nice for a date night.
Great food and service, we arrived 30 mins or so before closing time and while there were other tables there when we arrived, by the time we had dessert we were the last table left. At no point did we feel pressured or like we were being pressured out the door. Great food and amazing service, recommend for sure.
This was my our first time here & we met up w friends. Our waiter, Norman, was awesome! I enjoyed everything from the dirty martini, mac & cheese, cioppino & a nice ending to the meal ~ limoncello! And don't get me started on the bread with the chunks of sea salt on the butter! WE WILL BE BACK, so you may want to warn Norman!!
Our dinner tonight was wonderful. Besides good food the quiet ambiance allowed us to talk comfortably. One of us is hard of hearing while another talks very softly. Dinner in a typical place did not allow a conversation to flow along easily. Cabezon provided a space for us to share true communication.
Great find! First, kudos to the bartender for making some really great cocktails. The oysters and phyllo-wrapped shrimp as appetizers were great, and the monkfish and cioppino main courses were original and very tasty. Dessert -- try the profiteroles!!!
I went on NYE and had to wait for a request ed table. Two complaints is that other than the bar (which the seats were full) there’s no other place to wait and you end up blocking the entrance or the waiter/waitress serving food #2 - for an 8:15p reservation, they ran out of TWO menu specials 😤......but the Cesar salad is delicious
I love Cabezon for seafood. Love the beet salad, specials, seafood and steak dishes.
Everything we put in our mouths was fantastic. This is a lovely place to splurge for a special occasion!
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The quality of the food is consistently delicious, the drinks are well prepared, and the overall experience is superlative!
Absolutely amazing. Worth the money.
We joined some friends who had been to Cabezon many times and were not disappointed. We shared the crab potpie and the prawns for our appetizer. We all loved the prawns! Crunchy and flavorful, the sauce was the perfect pair with them. The sea bass and lamb ragu were both scrumptous and the right size. Again, we shared - a dessert this time - the profiteroles and they were the perfect ending to an outstanding meal. The wait staff were warm, knowledgeable and friendly. One thing I would say though, for whoever is watching the door, a nod or a smile to acknowledge that you see someone is helpful if you cannot get to them right away. We will happily return again!!
Thank you! We especially enjoyed sitting at our cozy round table in the front corner, table #8. We are elders and the noise level is manageable in that corner.
The cioppino was especially delicious! Compliments to the chef!
Also, thank you for accommodating the garlic allergy of one of our party. Much appreciated.
We’ll be back soon!
Had Christmas eve dinner here and it was busy. We'll definitely come back! Special crab pot pie appetizer was delicious. We both had cioppino which was excellent. Wondeful dessert of profiteroles flavored with Maker's Mark whiskey. Cocktails perfect. Can't think of a negative thing, was warm and inviting with great service.
Cabezon is the restaurant highlight in our neighborhood. If we lived across town, we would make the trip to dine here. The service is friendly and efficient, and we love sitting at the bar and watching the action in the kitchen. The seafood is super fresh and preparations are creative and oh so good! Cocktails are well crafted, the ambience is nice. Cabezon is the perfect place to grab an early bite and a drink, to indulge in a full dinner, or have a group dining experience for a special occasion. Highly recommended!
We were a party of 4 and each of us had a different entree. We were in full agreement that our meal was excellent. Highly recommend.
the steak was incredibly good
the cioppino was a bit watery. could have been richer and more flavorful.
ambiance was top notch
would go back
Great find-we were back in Portland for an annual visit and we made it a point to dine at Cabezón again. Everything we ate was better than last year's visit.
We frequent Cabezon, often for special occasions. This was one of the best meals we've had there. Wonderful gravlax appetizer with lemon creme fraiche plus monkfish and black cod served with green veggies and jasmine rice. Good flavor combinations.
Cabezon is a lovely restaurant with attention to the inventive and well-presented food. We had the beet salad with goat cheese and greens that was delicious. Also the green papaya salad atop a seared white fish-really exquisite. The Cioppino was good-excellent broth and perfectly cooked seafood, but in retrospect the other entrees offered more tantalizing variety of flavors. We finished the meal with the pear tartine topped with caramel and ice cream that was heavenly. We were able to have dessert because the portions were right-sized, not a mound of food.
Great spot! Lots of flavors and options. Highly recommended! We’ll be back.
Cab exon is always fabulous! It never disappoints. The menus is diverse with consistent favorites.
Fine, but not worth the hype or money. Flavor lacking
