We are known for our breakfasts, including our famous Coast Toast. Our chef creates many other wonderful dishes seasonally for lunch and our dinner service.
Our house is the perfect place for you to host your next party. Whether it be a wedding reception, rehearsal dinner, baptism, bridal shower, baby shower, or any special occasion.

The seated us at one of the best tables with a clear view of the water, and the Coast Toast was absolutely awesome! The hostess was very personable, and the rest of the staff was great. In fact, we came back again during our 4 day trip to San Diego, and looking forward to dining at Brockton Villa again.
Great views, service, cocktails and food. We come here often for the fantastic views
and great cocktails and service. Sadly, the stench from the birds and sea lions across the street was so bad we probably will not return in the future.
I took my husband to Brocktons for a sunset dinner. Not a great experience. Once the hostess seated us, it was almost 15 minutes before someone, not our waiter, stopped by to bring us water. It was another 10 minutes before our waiter asked if we would like a drink. I ordered a Manhattan, but since they don't have a liquor license, I had to forgo the drink. Our waiter spent A LOT of time with the two women seated behind us promoting his new clothing business. The food was meh at best. Definitely not worth the price. Our waiter was not attentive and didn't return once he dropped off the check. After waiting another 15 minutes, we paid online and cut our losses.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner at BV. The food and wine was perfect, and our server was excellent. They have paired down the number of reservations they take in order to maintain the same high quality with a thin staff during this challenging time. While many other restaurants have cut corners, BV has remained consistent in their great food and service. Don’t kiss the Coast Toast!
Service was outstanding and the food was great!
Great location & view! The food was okay, nothing special. My hashbrowns were a fast-food type potato patty which was surprising! You couldn't modify some dishes which makes me think things are pre-made for speed. Makes sense, they are super busy. Definitely worth a visit!
Food was bad, really below average, which is a pitty given the gorgeous views
Top notch service. Oceanfront seating was relaxing. Limited menu for dinner but we hear brunch is not to be missed.
The view of La Jolla is gorgeous. My friends raved about their coffee, and the value for the amount of food you got was great.
-I like this place and we come here a couple of times a month. The only "down-side" is the lack of available parking. Sometimes we have to loop around on the street a couple of times before we find a spot.
-The food is always good, and the service is usually pretty good as well, although they've had a turnover of help recently and the new servers are not as attentive as the old "regulars" used to be. Its not bad, just not as good.
-Open Table reservations has been screwing up with the reservations. When you click on the time to make a reservation, it tells you that there isn't one available until the evening. But when you actually look at the times, you'll see that there are plenty of spaces available during the day, so DO double-check. I hope that they fix that...
Brockton is always a favorite... great food, great view and great service. We had the fish tacos, burger and steak - all delicious and cooked just right!
Great views! Our server was awesome, and food was excellent. Cocktails were excellent, too.
Spectacular view of the sunset hitting the water when we went. Food was great, filled us up. Our server, Freddy, was very funny, outgoing, & took care of us. Service at restaurants is a key factor in how your night might go, and Freddy definitely helped brighten the night. 10/10, would come again, maybe for breakfast this next time.
Always a great experience. Have been going there for 20 years!
Food and service were amazing. Can’t wait to return!
Lovely brunch spot, with elevated view of the ocean. We enjoyed the mimosa flights, each of us tasting a different flavor. Must try the mango chili mimosa, a new fave now.
We all enjoyed the food, all generously portioned and definitely enough to share.
Recommend making reservations since many people were lined up mid morning.
Great food by the sea lions and fantastic views. Hope to return soon.
Food was fantastic, service was good. Parking was terrible, smell of the seals and/or sea lions was definitely not great but it was a nice atmosphere overall.
Poor food, nice view, smell from the sea and really expensive. Not worth its reputation.
When you make reservations they ask if you are celebrating any occasion and of course you put it on your reservation but disappointed that the host is not even aware about it, the spacing of tables and chairs were very close to each other you don't have any space to pull back the chair just to get seated so skimpy on space. There's very limited menu selection.
Basically paying for the view. Somewhat cramped, but this is understood, being a converted cottage. Salmon was good, but Seafood Pappardelle was bland. Waiter was not very knowledgeable regarding menu items.
Love Brockton Villa dinners. Good is healthy and tasty!
Food was fair But service was good. No parking at all and street parking was terrible. Very good Ocean views.
I love Brockton Villa. It is my favorite place to take out of town guests for breakfast. This visit was a birthday breakfast for my daughter who also loves this restaurant. I made a reservation on a Friday morning around 9:30am and we had a beautiful table outside. Sadly, we were rushed by our server. I felt like we were pressured to get in and get out quickly.
It’s our favorite special place when on vacay in La Jolla! The service felt rushed and not as special this visit and they removed some menu items recently that were our favorites (steamers, no longer put fruit on side of coast toast so had to pay more for fruit, etc). But overall still our happy place and we will be back!
Everything was to perfection
A place you will always remember
Excellent find, great staff, Freddy was very professional and friendly.
The stench of the seals ruined our outdoor experience
Ocean view ambience cannot be beat. Food and service excellent. Menu somewhat limited, but we enjoyed what we ordered. Allow time to find parking a few blocks away.
My husband and I went for breakfast on a friday. Got a cute table outside with a beautiful view. The food was delicious, the service was great and the ambience was wonderful!
Coast toast was divine!
Great view on the patio upstairs. Large portions.
Great service, perfect outdoor dining. The food was delicious as was the recommended dessert; Coast Toast a la Mode.
Great views, great foods. Casual and great for couple. Gotta try the Coast Toast
The food was the only thing good about this place. It has gone downhill. Parking is awful so plan to drive around for 30 minutes. I dropped off my lunch companion to get our table but they made her sit outside (where the smell from the cove was overwhelming but the host did not seem to care) until I got there. They said they couldn’t seat her in case I didn’t show up. Really? I’m going to just leave her there? Not to mention, there were plenty of tables and the inside was completely empty. It was just terrible form. She was an out of town guest and I remembered this restaurant favorably from the past. But no more. I will never return to the restaurant again.
Great location, beautiful views, friendly staff, fantastic food. Highly recommend!
My family went for a quick lunch. Stunning views and masked staff. :) The coast toast was phenomenal. My 8 year old loved the kids cheese pizza. My mom’s fruit bowl was to die for (so she said!) We will definitely return if we are ever in the area!
It’s a lovely spot for lunch and they serve breakfast until 3 pm so that’s nice to have that option.
Best restaurant ever!! Everything was beyond excellent. Could not recommend more.
