Brockton Villa is a beautiful historic home converted into a restaurant located directly across from the ocean. Our seaside location offers a spectacular view of the world-famous La Jolla Cove, and has become a favorite "show off" spot for locals and visitors alike. We are known for our breakfasts, including our famous Coast Toast. Our chef creates many other wonderful dishes seasonally for lunch and our dinner service.
Our house is the perfect place for you to host your next party. Whether it be a wedding reception, rehearsal dinner, baptism, bridal shower, baby shower, or any special occasion.
Brockton Villa loves families! Please don't forget to include your little ones in your reservation count!

Very nice staff, attentive and friendly. View gorgeous. Make a reservation to increase chance of getting a nice view. We loved the windbreak that made it possible to sit and enjoy the view on a cool evening.
Nice wine list. Filet Mignon was amazing as was the burger. Fish tacos could have had more complexity but were overall good.
Constriction next door (jackhammers, etc). Wait staff was super friendly and service was quick as we happened to put our order in after a party of 20+ and we still got our food quickly. Eggs (steamed/scrambled??) needed seasoning. FYI they don’t serve any alcohol until 11, which may or may not impact your brunch plans. We aren’t from CA, so the coastal aromas were strong and not the best. But the seals and sea lions sure are cute.
Food and service was excellent. Recommend going earlier than plan as parking near the restaurant is sparse with many sightseers strolling along the waterfront.
The experience was just ok nothing special. I wouldn’t return. I will say our waiter was very good.
Sat next to a table of crying children the first part of dinner. Would have liked to be offered a blanket (didn't know it was an option until the end).
Although the outdoor seating and view was nice, our waiter was less than good. He talked the talked but was not focused on the customer. He forgot at least three things needing multiple reminders to the point that we cancelled parts of our order. The food was fine. When asked why a dish was cold the entire plate was clearly put in a microwave and the fish was then overcooked and hard. When the waiter asked how everything was we shared the fish dish was not ok and he walked away!
My wife and I were excited to eat here, as it is so beautifully positioned close to the beach with incredible views. Unfortunately, the actual dining experience was not good. My wife liked the coast toast, but the chilaquiles were not served hot. And service was almost nonexistent. We literally had to leave the table and track down a waiter to ask for water and coffee refills. We would not return. There are other options in La Jolla with much better service.
Can't beat the location. One of the most scenic spots in San Diego. My turkey sandwich was kind of blah to be honest. I would have preferred a smaller sandwich not quite as thick.
Very good. Great sunset to gaze at from our table
Best views and delicious food. Lots of options for breakfast and lunch. Friendly staff.
Went for Sunday Brunch, A reservation is recommended. We waited around 10 minutes, with reservation. Without a reservation, we over heard that it was a 1 1/2 hour wait. We both had omelettes which were very good and came with delicious potatoes. We had a perfect view of the Cove. Will come here again.
Oh man! That Coast Toast is delicious!! Eggs are perfectly cooked. Service is friendly and welcoming. The view is outrageous!
Great friendly service!
Good value, good food!
Where else can you be whale-watching while having breakfast?!
One of our favorites when we get to La Jolla. Excellent and creative food. Love the atmosphere.
We drove down for the weekend for my daughters birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our dining experience. You can’t beat the location. Beautiful restaurant on every level. Food was delicious. ❤️
I love this restaurant. I was in San Diego for 2 weeks and ate here twice. We loved the outdoor seating with gorgeous views of the ocean. We could hear the sea lions and waves crashing. Our sever brought over a heater and blankets when it got a little cooler. We both had the 8oz filet. It was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. The food was increadible, the service was superb, and the atmosphere was relaxing. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Great food, great view and great service! Enjoyed our evening!
Great food, great service, the employees were lovely and the food was delicious! Will definitely be coming back
A delight to sit on the veranda and view the La Jolla coastline with our friends from LA and San Francisco. They were delighted.
Love this place! Great view! Great food! Great service! This is one of our celebration places, like birthdays and anniversaries.
Friendly service. Lovely ambience. Delicious and unique french toast.
Very good experience at Brockton Villa. Well-priced selection, highly recommend the cioppino. One of the most sublime tomato-saffron broths ever. Very good desserts. If you sit outside it may get a little noisy with the sea lions across the street at the cove.
My wife and I took our three kids (18, 14, & 11) to Brockton Villa for a late breakfast before hiking at Torrey Pines. The atmosphere, location, and scenery can’t be beat. Parking was not easy, but that’s to be expected in La Jolla. The food was unbelievable and priced fairly given the quality and the scenery that we were paying for. We loved it!
Crab cakes were exceptional (small). and their signature french toast is delicious. it is everything you could ever ask from a french toast and more
Amazing variety of health conscious and breakfast menu choices. The view was amazing. Our server, Aria, was attentive. Throughly enjoyed this mid-day dining experience with friends and family.
The views are fabulous from Brockton Villa. That is really the reason to go, as well as for a dose of La Jolla history and culture. Beautiful abalone fireplace. One of the first buildings on the hill. An original coffeehouse from the 60's.
The food was so so. The chef forgot to put the curry sauce on my husband's rice bowl. Pretty bland. Pricey for some simple food. But it is La Jolla with a view. Sadly the bird guano makes an awful stench which is not pleasant. All the restaurants above the cliffs have to deal with this.
Our server was sweet, friendly and helpful. She gets 5 stars.
Excellent food and beautiful scenery!
Enjoyed the Coast Toast with fruit.
Reservation honored Sunday Brunch. Waiter, hostess everyone was super personable. Excellent Food was served promptly. Will definitely return.
My husband and I had a wonderful breakfast at Brockton Villa. We had reservations and were seated right away. We had wonderful seats on the patio with one of the best views I've ever had at a restaurant. I would definitely recommend a reservation on the weekend for breakfast/brunch. Our waiter was very attentive. I had the coast toast which was absolutely delicious and fresh fruit. Some of the best pineapple I've ever had. My husband had the special of the day, lobster omelette. He said it was fantastic. It had large pieces of lobster. Overall a fantastic experience.
Great spot for a light lunch, good view, and long visit with a friend.
Beautiful views, good service, menu was limited and the food was definitely not worth the price.
Great atmosphere and service. Cost and quaint!
Some dishes were outstanding but a few were fair.
We booked ahead and therefore had no wait for seating. The food was absolutely delicious I had the tacos, which were superb. One of us had crab cake Benedict, and one of us had an omelette. We shared an order of the cinnamon roll pancakes, which were mouth-watering. I haven’t even mentioned the stunning view and the quaint interior. Service was excellent and very friendly. I can’t recommend Brockton Villa enough!
Great atmosphere and setting overlooking the water in La Jolla. Good food and excellent friendly service. Would recommend and would go again.
All good thanks
Too bad this restaurant is next to a construction site, which is annoying if you are on the right patio side. You want to ask for inside if your a visitor as they has some nice cozy tables on the front patio with a great view of the ocean.
The servers are great, and the food is pretty good. Brunch is what we had which was delicious.
This is a vintage place with a good vibe, so you will enjoy it.
The food was delicious and the service was great. We had a great view of the beach. Highly recommend!
Yum! Will be back. Tried the berry parfait, cinnamon roll, coast toast, crab bene, all delicious.
