It was awesome.
Perfect all around! Food, service, ambiance!
Impeccable service, outstanding food. New Orleans tradition.
This was our last meal on vacation. It was definitely one of the best meals we have ever had. The food was so delicious and the service was impeccable. This was a very memorable meal to end a perfect vacation. Murphy was outstanding.
2 separate beautiful dining rooms: Main was louder and more festive, with a wall of windows looking out on the courtyard; Audubon room was more sedate and romantic, looking out onto Royal St. Food was great. Tableside bananas foster was fun.
Great brunch! What a treat for a special occasion.
Menu selection is superb. Presentation is artistic, appealing and beautiful. Staff and service is absolutely superior. Sean was our head waiter, an accredited oenologist who studied in France. What a treat to have him! His personal touch, engaging conversation, wealth of knowledge and his personal tour of the wine cellar and the upstairs private banquet rooms enhanced our entire experience. Must must for everyone!
Highly recommend Brennan's. We had a 90th birthday party for my Mother. The food, service and atmosphere was excellent. Brennan's made the event a success.
This was such an awesome experience!!! Thank you, Stephanie!
AMAZING food, atmosphere, service!!! A fun surprise (that I won't spoil) for a birthday celebration!
The restaurant is beautiful and the service impeccable, but the food was a disappointment. Would definitely go back for breakfast or dessert, but not a dinner meal.
Went here with a group of 6 and Brennan's was very accommodating and sat us in a timely fashion. Our waitress was the best. She had so much knowledge about the food and history of the restaurant that was very impressive. She made having so many great options easy. Would definitely recommend.
I was very excited to go to Brennan’s. When our party arrived, there was a loud celebration going on in the back room. It was very distracting. We were seated in the front of the restaurant, not as lovely as the back dining room, but still nice.
The menu seemed exciting and innovative, put food itself was lackluster. The presentation was nice however.
The wait staff was too attentive When we didn’t need them, and nowhere to be found when we did.
In two words: overpriced hype.
Food was cold, service was slow. By far the worst restaurant we went to on our trip. Would not recommend to anyone. Save your money and go some place else.
Bananas Foster was Great as always - but the food was overrated and small portions. Prices were high for what you received.
With such a deep history in New Orleans, and having visited Commander’s Palace, I expected Brennan’s to be up to par. They severely missed the bar with their SERVICE! We were introduced to a waiter after being at all table for over 15 minutes. After asking him if the restaurant was participating in Coolinary Month (Prefixed Dinner Menu of 3 Courses) he quickly passed us off to another waitress who we barely saw. The person we saw the most of was the young lady bussing the tables, and she was kind enough to give recommendations on some of her favorite dishes. She was fantastic and we slipped her some extra cash since the rest of the staff was less than mediocre. Another person we saw more frequently was a manager - we ordered a bottle of wine after our first round of cocktails to come out with our entrees. They sold the last bottle, so she returned to our table with the wine list to have us choose another bottle. Instead of offering a similar resignation she hunched over my friend like a teach in school while he searched the list for something else. Unbelievably, things got worse when I went to the restroom and heard the same manager talking trash about patrons who were clearly there for a family birthday party. They had a large party, but were very well mannered and kind to the staff, and the manager was extremely nasty because they’d gotten a tiara for the young girl to wear. Uncalled for and unbecoming to say the least. If you’re shopping for a quality dining experience, I would avoid this place at all costs! Oh! Forgot to mention we were even offered a dessert menu since it was after 10 (when they close) when we finished our meal. Our reservation was at 8:15...
This was a unique and fun restaurant for a memorable birthday celebration. The steak Diane was the best we've ever had. The desert was worth the purchase just for the presentation but also very yummy. Server and all staff were amazing!!
Had brunch here for my wife's birthday. Loved their take on the eggs benedict and their french toast was outstanding. Staff was very friendly.
The service was amazing and our waitress was so kind. She gave us samples of turtle soup because we had never had it before and also was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. There are small tasting menus (two courses) for brunch/lunch.
Beautiful meal with outstanding waitstaff, exquisite food, and ambience of the best kind!
Wonderful experience! I am so glad that I decided to bring my daughters here for dinner. Our entrees were rich in flavor, and we enjoyed seeing the preparation process of our bananas foster deserts. The staff was very attentive and friendly.
Service was fantastic. They did a really cool birthday dessert. Dinner was good - just not outstanding like I expected
The food we actually ate was great. However the one dish on there limited brunch menu they were out of. Unfortunately it was one of a few things I could eat with my shellfish allergies. When I asked to order a side of something I could actually eat I was told no. It came off very un apologetic and insincere to my Alergy and there apparent bad inventory planningproblem. Not really a huge deal but I wouldn’t expect this situation at a place that boosts at being one of the best. We also didn’t get our drink until the end of our meal after we reminded our waiter and then we’re given the the wrong drink. When we brought it up to him he was visible irritated at us and tried to see if we wanted the drink instead of the one we had ordered. We said no. He hurriedly walked off and finally got us our right drink. By then the timing of now having a cocktail missed the mark and we felt a strange vibe with our waiter. He then tried to be nice by offering us the the original wrong drink for free as if that was supposed to undue the late drink and told us we could have the wrong drink for free but would be charged for the one we ordered. We politely said no thanks. Looking back we will not come back since there are so many other great places to go to in New Orleans.
Made us wait with no idea of when they could seat us but we had a reservation. When I asked the host about our table he was rude and spoke to me like a bully, so we left.
We went to do Bubbles at Brennan's and sat in the Roost Bar. It was fantastic. This place is a classic, and I know I will continue to go back there every time I am in New Orleans. The service was perfect, the setting was perfect. A true five star experience.
Be sure to ask your waiter questions about the menu to get the full experience. Good fine dining, proper, professional. Loved the service. Unique menu items. Go for dessert.
Breakfast at Brennan’s is a must when visiting NOLA!
I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken was really 2 small chicken wings and the waffle wasn’t a traditional waffle.. it had a unique taste, like green peppers in it. It wasn’t my favorite... but the bananas foster was delicious. They made it in front of you.
The service was outstanding. My friend has the eggs Benedict and loved it.
Good to excellent food offset by poor to atrocious service which began with waiting 30+ minutes for our reserved table followed by an uneven experience the remainder of the evening. Brennan's has a ways to go to truly re establish itself as an overall experience that is equal to its pricing and past reputation.
Food was not as good as the hype. Very expensive for wuality of food
Excellent food with great service. A must do New Orleans experience.
Awesome dining experience. It was as close to a perfect evening as any could be. The service was beyond excellent. We felt we were the only people in the place. Yes, it's not cheap. But is isn't Longhorn either. It is a classy place with service that is beyond exceptional and hard to find these days. If you need a place for that special night with that special someone....this is IT!
This was a very personal visit to Brennan’s (on recommendation from my 94 year old grandmother who had visited/eaten at Brennan’s 50+ years ago!) and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, the service excellent, and an overall wonderful and memorable experience.
We came here for an Anniversary dinner and were treated like royalty by the staff and manager. The food was excellent...don’t think you can go wrong with the servers recommendations. They are extremely knowledgeable about the menu and made for an outstanding dining experience.
Really nothing out of this world. Our service was sub-par. When we would ask for things it was either forgotten or little urgency. We had the duck which was definitely the best duck we ever had. Other than that nothing was very exciting. They invented bananas foster and unfortunately that was even just mediocre. We won’t be back and I wouldn’t recommend Brennan’s in a city of so many amazing restaurants.
We have been coming to Brennan’s for next to 4 years, we’ve dined luxuriously every time. We’ve never had a problem until today’s brunch. We were greeted by possibly the rudest host I personally have ever met at a restaurant of this caliber, Tyrone. Perhaps it was our appearance or our age, but my brother and I atended Brennan’s to celebrate my masters graduation, and Tyrone greeted us at the stand with nothing more than disrespect. My English is not perfect, and when i didn’t understand a question, I asked him to repeat it. Tyrone raised his voice, annoyed, and slowly moved his face within a foot of mine. I didn’t understand a question and was met with obvious hostility. When we were sat, and the rest of the service was the poorest I’ve ever experienced at Brennan’s. We ordered a bottle of Rose and the first two courses. We’d planned on ordering a third, but the time spent between the first and second were absurd. Tables around us were being treated the way I’ve know Brennan’s to treat their guests. I do want to praise the waiters filling water, coffee, and delivering food at the table. They were enjoyable, conversational, and actually served their guest with respect. The food as always was stupendous. I thank the chef and the cooks for some wonderful food.
Thanks Javier and Zane.
It was Breakfast at Brennan's, it was an experience...like going to the Louvre. If you are in New Orleans, you really OUGHT to try it, for breakfast/lunch at least. It is NOT cheap, but well worth the price.
Booked it for my wife's birthday breakfast. Everything was top-notch with wonderful ambiance and service. We loved the food and the complimentary dessert they brought her was a cake topped with ice cream and covered with a cotton candy (which is one of her favorite things, further I should have lied and told her I knew that is what they would bring out) beehive. The food was creative and old school at the same time. Certainly a place you should consider going to if in NOLA.
My husband enjoyed his fish. Appetizer portions were small. My pork tenderloin was cold and the server wasn't very attentive.
