Food was mediocre at best, lobster miso soup was overly salty the gulf fish was prepared well but the sauce was too sweet and the vegetables were bland. My wife had the lamb and again, bland vegetables and the lamb was undercooked (she ordered medium and received medium-rare) and were still chewy and had no seasoning whatsoever. This is what I’d expect from a chain restaurant with access to the same ingredients.
The staff was friendly and visited the table many times to insure we were taken care of. Don’t listen to the other 1-star reviews who complain about the staff. The ambience is old fashioned (nothing wrong with that however). ie. Lots of table-side prepared dishes.
The drinks are very well prepared and sufficient.
With all the other fine dining choices in NOLA at this price point it’s difficult to justify taking the time to eat here.
Celebrating an upcoming wedding!
Such a memorable brunch , great service and style. Very kind staff, friendly, diverse and efficient. Turtle soup , excellent. Strawberry crepes fantastic. One egg dish arrived at table later than others and was not hot enough. ? Otherwise everything was delicious and appreciated the anniversary bubbly on the house. Lovely touch. Book ahead by a few weeks, always crowded.
Andrew was a great server! We loved the bananas foster 🙂
Lovely place, a warm welcome, efficient, courteous service and very good food.
Pleasant, but not very quick service, occasional long gaps and it took a long time for our drinks to arrive.
Food was good, but the rabbit was a badly designed/executed dish. The meat was bland and slipped out of the batter casing making the experience less than ideal.
Potato cold but were served more. Wine expensive. Irish coffee served before dessert. Birthday surprise was nice touch though.
It was delicious. Would have liked one beef option on the menue for a picky teen. Service was top notch. More of a throw back experience - in a good way.
Staff was great, ambiance was amazing!
Fantastic all around. Bananas Foster just as I remember it. Strawberry crepes a treat too.
Wow! Worth every penny.
We celebrated my husband's birthday and EVERYONE was so accommodating. Our meal was delicious!
We just spent 5 days in New Orleans and had amazing meals. Unfortunately on the last night we went to Brennan's and were very disappointed. Brennan's may have been great in its day but it is now old and tired. Go elsewhere. I wish we did.
Wait staff was very attentive. Waited quite awhile for our food, but mine was excellent and we were in no hurry. Husband said he had had better Eggs Benedict and since coffee was from a french press and not drip, it was quite strong.
I so wanted to just love everything about this spot
Unfortunately I did not.
The outdoor garden seating was lovely with the fountain and the general service of our table was just fine, our water glasses were filled nonstop, almost annoyingly so.
Our waiter seemed somewhat annoyed by our questions about the menu, answered "mechanically" not sincere, no passion about the food, just get it ordered and done.
I was so sad about this.
I am a passionate foodie and I wanted to love my experience here.
Two in our party had the rabbit, it was tasty but our waiter never came back to ask how our meals were, we had to "hunt" down someone to ask for one more butter.
Our 4 meals took a really long time to arrive and we had to ask for our drink order.
OK, the bloody Mary's were awesome !
Oh Brennan's I just will not be able to recommend you to friends heading your way soon.
The maitre d couldn’t find our reservation and even when another hostess did find us in their computer, he was nasty and condescending and ruined the experience for us. Service was very slow, food was mediocre and they sat us at the worst table in the restaurant even though I booked my reservation 60 days out. Terrible experience-I would never go back
Amazing food and servers! Enjoyed everything about this class act.
As always food & service were excellent.
The Bananas Foster is unparalleled!
Brunch at Brennan’s is always memorable!
The Waiter Captain (John) was excellent, he explained the menu entirely to the detail of the dish. He was very on the job with every detail, which made our experience absolutely wonderful. In all honesty, I believe he is the reason that the experience we had at Brennan's was perfect. He himself walked around the tables to ensure everyone's needs were met, answered questions, made sure everyone was pleased with their food, drinks, etc. It's an OUTSTANDING RESTAURANT, excellent chefs, good staff, etc., but what really put the icing on the cake for say was (John) the Waiter Captain... Highly would recommend if you haven't been to Brennan's New Orleans, if your ever in the area, I'd say don't miss it!
We had a wonderful experience with a great waiter who really walked us through the menu. I had the rabbit, which had only been on the menu for two nights, and was delighted. My date had the scallops in a pho-style dish, also amazing. Overall, a wonderful experience.
Beautiful restaurant with amazing food, and great service! I had the asparagus and burrata salad which was delicious! And the duck as a main. It was one of the best duck dishes I have had to date. To top off the amazing food, the service was prompt, very professional and our waiter was very pleasant. Would absolutely recommend, and I will be returning.
We came to Nola for the Jazz but Brennan’s was also high on the list and it did not disappoint. Thanks for a wonderful night!!
Brennan's is, of course, classic NOLA. Gracious, calm ambience and lovely service. Food can be good too. it is a tradition!
Everything was amazing. I felt like a princess being there! The service was a little slow. We saw the GM be rude to a few of the servers and that was a turn off. I understand he is doing his job, but seeing him be rude to his staff was worse than what the staff was or was not doing. We weren’t the only table who noticed it either.
Impeccable food and service. Incredible staff, beautiful decor.
Reggie our server was outstanding and made my birthday celebration so special! Loved it!
Fabulous meal and service! We were there to celebrate our 40th anniversary and it was as beyond wonderful! Food, drinks and EXCEPTIONAL service. Randy, our main server and all the waitstaff saw to it that our time there was c’est parfait !
We had a lovely brunch at Brennan’s. All the staff was so friendly, and welcoming. The food was incredible. We really enjoyed our experience.
Great food and service!!!!!
Experienced, professional staff from the front door to the bus boy. Spicy bloody Mary’s met the standards of my very discerning bride. We tried three different entrees and all were delicious and presented with style. The only downside was a strawberry fizzy mimosa-like drink that was average. Brennan’s is a great dining experience.
Great NOLA dining experience!
We had a nice dinner with some new friends we met at FQ Fest. I got the redfish which was yummy. My sweetie got the duck. Which was a B+ in her opinion. We all four split the banana fosters which was yummy. Over all good meal. The only negative is that we didn't get to order our drinks for 20 minutes then another 10 before they got there so that was a bad taste at the beginning. Everything was great afterwards. We'd go back.
Outstanding in every way
Food was great. Waiter service was terrible. We had 2 waiters and both seemed to forget about us. Took a 1/2 to get a cocktail. Ordered another round and it took forever. Received it at the end of the meal.
Celebrating our 30th Anniversary. Had complimentary champagne and our Captain Randy McBride was outstanding!!
What a quintessential New Orleans experience. I brought 4 of my staff from out of town for a directors retreat and we did Friday brunch and a meeting. What a fantastic way to introduce them to New Orleans - the lovely ambience, the wonderful service and bananas foster complete w the history of the dish was wonderful!!
Great NOLA eating experience. Awesome waitstaff, food and ambiance. Total package. A little pricey but well worth it with the quality and service.
