Our initial host who delivered us to our table was a strange man who did not speak, it was very impersonal and I was a bit worried; fortunately every other wait person were friendly, informative, and chummy.
We did the $50 three course option because everything sounded good - why not? Here’s why. The soup was too, too salty (did chef not taste the food? A we could tell that has he laid off the salt some, the flavors would have been great. The mains were good if not stellar - my coworker had a nice is slightly boring fish, my chicken dish was the better dish although yet again the vegetables were over salted. I started thinking that it was just me, but then I overheard the neighbor table also taking about the salt level. For dessert we did the bananas fosters, as that is why we chose Brennan’s in the first place- no complaints there.
Overall decent enough, but the food could be better in the details.
Wait staff was busy and our waiter was not attentive we had to ask a couple of other waiters for help.
Upscale restaurant... pricey but tasty.... not large portions...
worth the trip if looking for a fancy meal....
Service really was poor. Restaurant was super busy and our server disappeared for a long period of time. Food was wonderful as always.
Top notch service. Really enjoyed the food and experience. Highly recommended!
The service was great. Very nice young lady was professional and made us feel welcome. Our food was average at best, seems to me that Brennan's is living on their reputation.
Great drinks, nice food, and good service. The location is great.
Fantastic food, can’t wait for our next trip to Nola to go again
Our breakfast was delicious. The Eggs Hussarde was excellent and the Hunters Corn beef hash was well prepared. It was the best hash I ever had. The desserts were fantastic. It was a wonderful breakfast. Never had avocado ice cream before but it was good. The servers were exceptional!
Excellent brunch. A New Orleans classic with amazing food. The gumbo was the best ever, and our server was great. Eggs Husard is amazing. Bring your cholesterol meds.
Legendary service did not disappoint. Absolute fabulous meal with the seasonal fish. Of course had to have the bananas foster prepared table side.
Brennan's was a first class experience. First I should say I did not realize how fancy of a restaurant is, so we were not necessarily appropriately dressed plus we had kids with us (ages 8 & 9), but the staff and servers made us feel fully welcome regardless. And this welcome started with the personable host who let my kids look at the turtles (even though they were setting up for a private event in that area) and also led us outside to see a wedding parade going by (thank you to him this was an amazing experience!!).
Our servers and the dining staff were kind and attentive. At one point my son dropped his napkin on the floor and someone was there to replace it in an instant (without us even asking, I was just going to have him keep using it!).
The food was amazing. I had the tasting menu which for $50 I got three items they are famous for. A soup was amazing (corn something), a redfish which ranks up with the best fish item I have ever had, then the bread pudding, which is a dessert I never thought I had any interest in, was also amazing.
I didn't feel like the prices for each individual item were any more than any other restaurant we went to though I admit our bill with it all added up seemed to be pretty high (though we are not cheap people at restaurants and tend to order what we want, drinks etc.! I know it just adds up!!)
We would definitely return here when in town. Next time we will dress a bit nicer but would still bring our kids for sure :) Thank you Brennan's for an amazing New Orleans experience.
Delicious! My favorite part of the meal was the presentation and explanation of the Bananas Foster dessert. They made it right in front of us and since we are not from NOLA, he explained both the history and ingredients as he made it.
Outstanding on courtyard. Birthday celebration. The food was perfect service was perfect and a beautiful day in New Orleans
It is a once in a while decadent treat..everything is top notch.
We had brunch which was excellent. The food was excellent, the wait staff was very attentive. A little pricey, but well worth it. Everything we had was excellent. The BBQ Lobster (which does sound a little off putting) is excellent. The grits were the best I’ve ever had. Next time I’d probably get the BBQ Lobster and put it over the grits as a meal. The rock shrimp omelet was great. The bacon is grilled and thick so more like a pork belly (yes I know bacon is pork belly).
Tyrone is wonderful and the food is great!
Went for breakfast great food and service
Returned for dinner next night
Again great food and service
For us it was the beat restaurant in New Orleans
I was very disappointed with service, I took my friend to celebrate her birthday with her husband, this was supposed to be a special evening but turned out very bad, it took us 30 minutes to get the food menu and a hour and 20 minutes to get our first course, no bread was served until we asked which was after we get the first course, what make matters worse call to remind them that it a birthday event and I would like a chocolate cake and they forgot to bring out the cake, when I get up an go to remind them they bring out cotton candy with a candle which was so prophetic then when we are about to leave the told us there is cake and ice cream below the cotton candy what a joke, I feel so bad because I told my friends how great the restaurant was and this was the kind of service we received, we got to the restaurant at 8 and didn't got out until 11, it took 3 hours for us to have a meal, so disappointed.
Too fun! Restaurant was packed and service was perfect!
The best breakfast you will ever have.
Can't do NOLA without the famous "Breakfast at Brennan's". Never a disappointment. Have enjoyed this treat for over 40 years & look forward to our next trip. Wait staff are professional & courteous. Food is always wonderful.
Wonderful evening. The cotton candy birthday cake was awesome and I love the apron. Thanks so much!!
An institution in New Orleans! My wife loved the Bananas Foster, and she doesn’t even like bananas!
The service was excellent and the food delicious. Will eat there next time I’m in New Orleans.
A real Treasure! We had a LOVELY time at Brennan's Both times we visited!
Great must dine restaurant in New Orleans
Eggs Benedict were a bit dry asked for more hollendaise never received so didn’t eat second half because I had waited and then my egg was cold
Waiter wasn’t concerned didn’t offer to take off menu. Whatever mostly a pleasant brunch.
After a short wait we were seated and looked after by a very attentive staff throughout the meal.
We waited over 1/2 hour for a 10am reservation. Asked for water 3x’s. We ordered appetizers and they came out at the same time as our entrees! The waiters were awful and confused.
Exemplary Service and special birthday dessert treat of cake and ice cream under cotton candy and birthday candle.
Great time. Servers were friendly and professional. Bananas Foster a must try.
Wonderful place to celebrate a birthday. Food was wonderful and the staff were friendly and attentive.
It's Brennan's...it was great! Our waiter, Patrick, and his associate, Todd, were both top notch!
We were there when Brennan's opened so it took a while to get seated and a long time to get coffee. The server was very nice but when everyone in the restaurant has just arrived and wants to get coffee and order at the same time it is understandably difficult to get to everyone. The food was good however a $100 breakfast for two is pretty pricey.
We went to Brennan's for our Anniversary and the experience could not have been better. Outstanding service, excellent meals, pleasant atmosphere. They treated us fantastic! Thanks to everyone at Brennan's for such a wonderful experience - we certainly appreciated all your efforts.
Overpriced, over hyped tourist trap. Come for the tradition and the beautiful space, but know that service and food is mediocre. With so many exciting choices in NOLA, leave this as a last option.
One of the finest restaurants in the world. Classy, impeccable service with phenomenal food.
Amazing, simply amazing!
We were a foursome celebrating a 40th birthday and tried most of the menu between us- gumbo, baked apple, smoked oysters, crab tiran, brûléed grapefruit, eggs hussarde, seafood risotto and bananas Forster for dessert...with the waiter giving us the full history of the dish as he prepared it tableside. We had a lot of good meals in NOLA - but this was my favorite by far.
Best part of visiting New Orleans! Milk punch is hard to beat. Perfect for our 20th wedding anniversary. Ask for Randy M. to be your server when you make reservations!
As usual, the service was Impeccable. The food was delicious. Everything was perfect.
