We had breakfast on the patio. It was wonderful.
A must-eat if you’re in the area! The lobster appetizer is AMAZING.
After hearing about how special Brennan's was for many years, I finally got the opportunity to experience this very special institution for myself. It was hands down the best culinary experience I have had in New Orleans and overall amongst the tops dinning experiences I have had ever.
While I’d always wanted to experience Brennan’s as it is mentioned in most novels written with a NOLA venue, in our opinion was an overrated tourist hub. Food was over sauced and salted.
The best food we had in NOLA! Ate there 4x during our 4-day stay in town and loved each experience
The place is so classy, but welcoming and casual! Outstanding food and service. Loved the whole experience.
This is by far one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. The food is always great and the service is never been bad. Every time I go to New Orleans I go the Brennan's!
I must say I was underwhelmed by my experience at Brennan's. I'm a frequent visitor to New Orleans and in fact lived there for a few years and looked forward to dining at Brennan's for brunch. Our food was good but I would say a bit overpriced. Our service was less than stellar. Our waiter essentially abandoned us for the majority of our visit. We waited over 30 minutes before he approached us to take our order. He acted like we didn't exist the rest of the time we were there. That said, the rest of the staff was attentive and kind. If it wasn't for them we would never had gotten any food or drinks at all. The only other time we saw Our actual waiter was when he returned our check and told us what a pleasure it was to serve us (really??).
Girls brunch on a Saturday to celebrate birthday and going to The Saenger for Saturday matinee. From the front staff till we left after brunch a wonderful experience. Lashondra and her team wonderful knowledgeable about the menu and plate presentation. We also had 2 different table side dessert presentations for strawberry cream cheese crazes and bananas foster both of them delicious. Then out cane surprise birthday presentation and Brennan's apron what a treat. Definitely will return. Thank you for great memory and experience
Excellent meal. The birthday surprises were great!
Some of the best food in NOLA. Could not ask for a better meal.
Brunch and dessert dining! Crawfish scramble was just ok. The canned mushrooms were a huge turn-off for the whole dish. The chicory coffee service in the French press was top notch. Banana fosters for dessert was delicious! Service was well educated on the history of the restaurant, food and area.
Amazing!!!!! Best place in nola’
Excellent service and excellent food
Before visiting New Orleans, 3 people told us that we must have breakfast at Brennan’s. While the food was very good and the service was excellent, it was not worth $90 with tip, and we had no alcoholic beverages. By contrast, we had lunch at Brennan’s sister restaurant, Commander’s Palace. Also pricey, but the food and service was amazing.
Outstanding meal, wrote a review on Antoine's (night before) celebrating 21st birthday for my daughter, they failed miserably in acknowledging the celebration where Brennan's did not. Brennan's for years (pre new owner and since change) and they are the best for an amazing breakfast experience especially when celebrating a special occasion.
I am usually a timid eater, but I met my brother and nephew for a culinary tour. I had decided that I would taste food that I had never eaten before. Our waiter sold me on the sweetbreads. I would never have chosen that appetizer, but I trusted him and he was right! The dinner was beautiful, service was impeccable, and the food was innovative and delicious! Of course, he Bananas Foster is not to be missed1
Cocktails were very well made , balanced and interesting. Bar staff was curt and made no comments other than to ask our order. Appetizers were roasted oysters and gumbo. They were disappointing. We had better gumbo at Oak Alley and the WW II Museum. White wine was not great- a cuvee. Blackened redfish was flavorless except for the burnt flavor. Grilled fish Amandine was average. Bananas Foster had beautiful entertaining presentation and tasted pretty good too. Ice cream was delicious.
Service was professional. Seemed like everyone hated their job.
We were a group of three married couples. Old friends and no one in our party was picky or complained. But, I could tell we were all under impressed.
Delicious food and great service but the value is not worth the amount of food served to you.
We always enjoy Brennan's. We loved everything! Our daughter's pasta dish was so rich and so much food that she could hardly eat 3 bites of it. BUT, the waiter did warn us! Might think about making the vegetarian pasta dish a bit lighter and smaller portion? The food is prepared expertly and the service very good! We will be back!
Good food. Good service. Good vice. Excellent overall experience.
Ambience was poor as we ended up being one of only 2 groups in our section - possibly a function of a 1:30pm booking. Overall, underwhelmed by the experience relative to others in NO.
Excellent food. Wait staff we interacted with were disinterested, not attentive, and seemed liked they detest tourists. They really did not want to interact with us. We went for brunch. Maybe the wait staff at night is better, but who knows.
A great breakfast. Tartiflette was amazing, as was everything else. It is definitely a leisurely meal so plan on 1.5 hours for breakfast.
Although I made a reservation well in advance and showed both on time and impeccably attired, I was seated at a table adjacent to the bar, presided over a fellow whose voice could break gallon mayonnaise jars. If you discourage single diners by treating them as second-class customers, you shouldn’t accept single reservations. You’ll certainly never see me again.
Better restaurants available in that price range
We went there for a birthday celebration and the service was excellent! From the birthday sash to the cotton candy surprise. The food was delicious. I enjoyed the table side flambé of bananas foster. I had THE most wonderful experience. I will definitely be back even though I live in California! They’ve won me over for life. Thank you!
Our server was not attentive at all. Our server didn't come back to check on our beverages or our meals. Just took our orders and presented our check. Then didn't split it as requested! Our bus girl was wonderful, it was her first day. However, when she brought my brother his diet coke she picked it right back up after she set it down in front of him.....She was told by our waiter that she needed to serve it with a glass of ice and a bottle. So she took it away! Crazy! Our blackened redfish was so very black that it was inedible. But no questions were asked when the plates were picked up with our uneaten fish still on them.... very disappointing.
Brennan's was a very special experience from beginning to end. We arrived a bit early and were escorted to the bar to wait. Bar service and drinks were top notch. Then, escorted to our table for a wonderful meal and impeccable service. Our waiter Matt was assisted by Kenyata (sp?). We enjoyed the food, the service, and the ambience.
Beautiful decor, good service, and an excellent experience part of our French Quarter visit.
Had a wonderful brunch enjoying the classic New Orleans restaurant. Bananas Foster served table side is truly an experience!
They missed the first course on my two course lunch and our server was generally unconcerned with us. The manager was great, though, and comped the soup plus dessert. The banana’s foster is still terrific.
What more to say. Nawlins finest. Home of Bananas Fosternbut the Bruleed Grapefruit and Sweet Potato Zeppole are not to be missed.
Excellent service! Food is amazing. It's really rare to find a classic established institution such as Brennan's that updates its taste and menu with current trends in the culinary world while keeping the best of its traditions.
The wait staff were terrific. It is noticeable and makes a significant difference when the entire staff (not just your waiter) wants to you to have the best experience possible. I had seafood gumbo, which has a dark and immensely complex roux, satsuma lacquered duck, and (of course) bananas foster. I would not change a single thing about my meal.
Everything was outstanding. We had the steak Diane and banana forster for dessert. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly
Great service, even helped out our picky eater. Bananas foster was yummy, and i don't eat bananas. Room was too dark when we arrived, but they fix after awhile.
My experience was amazing. My boyfriend and I ordered cocktails to start which were great. We also only ordered all appetizers to share. Shrimp crepes, turtle soup, pumpkin and crab bisque, roasted oysters. Our waiter was awesome. To guests- if you are able to get Anthony as your waiter, your experience will be quite good. To owners/managers- i think you should give Anthony a raise. Haha
Anthony was amazing, he divided the soups in different bowls for us and provided us great service.
Desserts- banana foster which Anthony did a demonstration and cooked it right in front of us and we also had bread pudding. Both were delicious. All the appetizers were great especially the turtle soup.
One of the best meals I had while visiting New Orleans.
The overall experience was spectacular dining and exceptional food with a first rate staff. Not only was the wait staff courteous and attentive, they helped us with our selections and understood we wished to share all items. With a table full of wonderful food, they constantly made more room and whisked away the debris of a thoroughly enjoyed meal. The banana foster is a must do and Patrick was patient to allow us time to get our cameras ready.
Outstanding food and service. Our head waiter was full of great stories. He made it a point to tell a story loud enough for area tables to hear. In the dining experience we were there (90 minutes), we heard about ten stories about Brennan's and the family and none were repeated. The history of the place and New Orleans just exuded from him. It was amazing. The funny thing is, he came from Chicago in 2011 and he has embraced the culture, the city, the life and the restaurant. Randy is a great asset to your restaurant.
And he loves his picture being taken from his 'Creole' side. Keep up the amazing service!
Oh. Our son is Gluten Free and they were able to easily accommodate him from the menu.
