   We discovered Zédel last summer while on holiday, and made a point of returning on our next visit. Once again, the food and service were excellent, and the atmosphere absolutely charming.  The escargot, hashe (spelling?) steak, and fries were yummy. My Vesper martini was also delicious, although most definitely on the petite side, hence perhaps not a good choice for best value. Nevertheless, whenever we are in London, we shall return.

   Arrived 1020 for a 10.15 booking. Long wait for oder to be taken, no drinks offered immediately and at 11, when we finally managed to attract a waiter some doubts about whether we were too late to get a desert. Not Zedel’s usual standard!

   Been to zedels several times and never had a bad time! They gave us a special plate for our anniversary as well! Really lovely touch!

   Excellent food, but service was poor - hurried, curt and had to be prompted. Starters emerged, arguably too quickly - then mains took forever. Sides were not brought to the table - we had to remind that we had ordered. Asked for dessert menus, and we were given wine lists. A shambles, only saved by the quality of the food and the ambient atmosphere.

   Okay this was a tough one. We will definitely go back to the American bar there for cocktails. The service and ambience is excellent both in the bar and restaurant It is a beautiful place to see. It was the food that let it down. Not awful but nothing to write home about. Husbands chicken had obviously been we think reheated and was dry . My potatoes were slightly under cooked. I would recommend you go and judge for yourselves.

   The reception was very unhelpful because we arrived early for our table and after a discussion they offered an immediate table. The experience was unhelpful and unnecessary and would not encourage a further visit

   Very reliable quality food service is very good especially considering size and activity level, ambience depends on table location, not much choice as always busy.

   When so many restaurants now make you think again about eating out Zedel remains great value and feels a bit above the ordinary

    I really enjoy going to Brasserie Zedel and especially taking other people who've never been before: the experience of slipping through the small bistro at street level and then descending the stairs into an art deco underground world always delights. The noise level in the brasserie is ideal - quiet enough to talk with friends, with a atmosphere hubbub in the background. The service is busily efficient, with a friendly and attentive attitude, and the food is reliably delicious: I usually go for either the prix fixe or formule menu, which guarantees great value for such well made and presented dishes. The appearance of a live singer and band later in the evening is an added bonus. Excellent, and will always recommend.
