Tart crust was somewhat tasteless. The onion jam was wonderful.

It's been better in the past. Service was excellent. Ambience too-- it's a great room. Always has been a favorite. Food was mixed. Got the fava bean special which was grilled...lovely. Got three appetizers between us. The gnudi bolognese was the standout. Koftas were good but not stellar. Salt cod, nice crust, tasty--well executed. Mains: the pork-- it was tenderloin tonight. They asked how we wanted it cooked--medium rare--but no pink to be found. (and yes, pork gets cooked to temperature-- but why ask, then?). Polenta was creamy and gorgeous. The bass was good, nice crust.... but a bit salty. A melange of veggies were tasty--but tepid. The flourless chocolate cake was perfect. So..........mixed. They took excellent care of us (birthday bubbles etc). And we mentioned our thoughts to staff to pass along to the kitchen. For the price, would like it all to be perfect. Next time, we hope.

The food was exquisite. The menu changes, but will share our favorites: arancini, foie gras(omg-heavenly melt in your mouth), pork tenderloin, sea bass. Sadly the onion(?) tart appetizer didn't land for me. I would say the food reminded me of Michelin meals I had in France: delicate, exquisite, refined but also grounded in local, seasonal, fresh produce and meats. There is pure talent in these dishes. Will return happily. The price is commensurate with the quality of what you receive. Dish portions are appropriate. The foie gras for instance is one cracker sized however that one small portion has a world of flavors and delicate textures and richness. You won't want more, it's perfect. Note to restaurant, I suggest more comfortable seating. A 55+ couple celebrating an anniversary should not be seated on the same side of a table in a booth seat with poor support. I liked the coziness but not facing each other and not having proper back support was an uncomfortable distraction. Would rather face each other than the hallway. Note to diners, other diners were very, very casually dressed - as in shorts and dirty shoes or sandals. So dress up if you like, or don't. We were the only dressed-up couple. Typical Boulder snubbing of proper dress. The restaurant is also warm(in Summer),not a/c cold like in the SE of the US. Truly fabulous culinary experience, with personable and professional service. It is a small, cozy, boutique style restaurant. Not clanky, loud, boisterous though at times the very tasteful piped music seemed loud, and the couple from Wyoming next to us had booming voices, lol, go figure. Highly recommend Bramble and Hare. Can't wait to return.

I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fine dining experience in Boulder. Every bite was delicious! They had classic and creative dishes. The recommendations given were great, but I don’t think there was a bad choice on the menu. I had the spring tart, the rabbit leg, and the blueberry tres leches. Everything was incredible, truly. Well seasoned, well cooked, nicely presented.

Bramble and Hare is the beautiful and elegant restaurant of the Black Cat farm. We were celebrating an anniversary, and were seated at a lovely, intimate table tucked away in its own space. The restaurant is quiet, the service was extremely attentive, the waiter was knowledgable and friendly, and the food delicious. The menu is prix fixe of $75 for three very generous courses (none of those golf ball size portions one finds in many of the other "fine dining" restaurants). Perhaps this is because Bramble and Hare is truly farm to table, eliminating the "middle man" in food service. The menu itself is not extensive, as it is based on the farm's output of the time, but each of our dishes was distinctive. In celebration of our anniversary, we were given champagne, a chocolate dessert treat, truffles to take home, and a card signed by the staff. Now that's what I call special treatment, and a delightful evening.
