Tonight’s reopening of Bramble and Hare is the light at the end of the Covid tunnel for which we have all been waiting. Somehow, they have managed to blend the very best qualities of Black Cat and Bramble into a new experience even better than either by themself. Tonight was one of the best meals I’ve ever had anywhere. Between this and the incomparable Black Cat Farm Dinners, there are two life-changing dining experiences one must have. You won’t be disappointed.
AMAZING!!! The linguini appetizer was incredible and the bar tender's choice drink was perfect. I will be visiting over and over.
This is one of Boulder's best kept secrets.
It was good quality and great service just not my type of menu. The food was ok and pricey but high quality and farm to table. They're trying too hard.
Outstanding service and food!
Great and interesting food and drink and attentive, friendly service in a warm, pub-like atmosphere. I made the rez but didn’t pick up the tab :) so I don’t know about the value ....
Eric and Jill's true, deep, farm-to-table ethos permeates every ounce of the experience. You taste the commitment to stewarding a noble, thoughtful legacy of local regenerative agricultural practice. B&H is the most comfortable, welcoming, intimate, joyful and delicious dining experience in Boulder. It is my wife and my refuge. Always a place to restore, body and soul.
I highly recommend. There is good value for the food quality. The kitchen does a very nice job. Limited menu helps keep food quality high which I appreciate. The menu rotates so there is always something new. Farm to table keeps the flavor rich. Thank you for a nice evening and great food! Ts & Bw
The most unusual appetizer featured foie gras bread pudding. With a name like that, I had to try it. Actually the foie gras must have been liquified and blended into the pudding - I could "almost" taste it. It was served with an excellent apple compote; intriguing concept! Also had the chicken pot pie - slightly oversalted but with abundant chicken and peas. Atmosphere is perfect for date night. Quiet enough so that we could easily converse.
Everything was wonderful as always!
A really great Valentine's day meal. Service was top notch and the food was beautifully presented and delicious. Even on a busy night, it felt like we were the only ones there.
Valentine's Day fixed menu: Normally not impressed with fixed menu set-ups but this one was fantastic. We had the wine pairing and it matched perfectly. Griffin was an excellent wine steward for the evening. The food was great and we left completely full and content. Well done.
Easy to write this. Probably the best restaurant in Boulder.
Treated my fiancé to a Valentine's Day dinner at Bramble. She ordered steak medium well done but they brought it out medium rare. When we pointed out their mistake, they owned up to it, recooked her steak and comped her meal. Their commitment to their guests' satisfaction is outstanding.
Amazing food. Possibly the best dinner I have ever had. And I used to live in San Francisco.
My partner's meal was exquisitely delicious (Cattle Merguez), but mine (Mulefoot pork) was not delectable. There was so much fat and I didn't think it was cooked enough. However, perhaps my uneducated palate was to blame. We loved sitting by the window and gazing out at the Pearl St. Mall.
What a wonderful meal. The food was inventive and wonderfully delicious. Even better the sevice was superb. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and left us feeling appreciated for coming and our wanting to come back.
Welcoming, delicious! Daniel and Mike are wonderful.
A bit disappointed compared to previous visits. Seems inconsistent.
Ok, I hardly ever write a negative review and this certainly isn't meant to be one. We went on 1/23/20. Started out really well with some excellent cocktails. We ordered up the Food Gras donuts and the Indian Hot Pocket to start. Come on man, the only way to get even the slightest hint of foie gra was to scoop the miniscule amount of filling from the donut and taste it by itself. Moving on the the hot Pocket, it's just ok. Fairly bland to be truthful. Moved on to the best salad. Excellent. Was very good and we both enjoyed it. We ended up sharing the Mule foot Pork. Seriously guys? That was akin to pork jerky. Was absolutely overcooked and way too hard to enjoy. The bed of prosciutto polenta was delicious (sorry, more like grits than polenta though) and we both thought the apple kimchi was out of place and way too spicy for the dish it was representing. We finished with the Salted Caramel Bread Pudding and it was excellent. Also, we asked for wine pairings for the pork dish and were not disappointed. Will I be back? Of course. Not gonna have that Mule foot Pork though. 🙄
Good food. Friendly service. We sat at the long table down the hall--it was a little chilly.
Quality food was really average. Portions were large but not tasty. The service was excellent. Value for the money was also average given the quality of the food.
We are regular customers of Bramble & hare and are usually very pleased. However the New Year's eve dinner was disappointing. The first 2 of the course witht he pairings were great and the dessert/paring was great. However the actual dinner portion was bland & not very hot- warm at best. The beef entree was cold upon arrival and didn't have much taste where the trout dish seemed like it was prepared as part of a buffet or would be something served at ta fundraiser. Neither disher were near par with our previous experiences. For the price point we could have gone to a casual service national chain and had a similar (3rd course) dinner at a fraction of the cost. Sorry to report thiis experience, but felt like we paid a toion of money for a less thab average main course. Not sure if I would recommend right now.
Bramble and Hare is the best. We go frequently, and I decided to celebrate my birthday there. They took such good care of me, made my evening feel special, and the food is delicious and nutritious. I have some food allergies and they always have great options and make me feel safe and well fed despite substitutions. Our waiter was superb, I wish I knew his name because we all commented how wonderful he was. We will of course be back!
Delicious food. Locally sourced and obviously made in-house. Very attentive staff, great wines. Only disappointment was the dessert - I had the “White Russian Bread Pudding” and it just wasn’t very good - dry and rather tasteless. But the potato and Gouda cheese soup was outstanding, as was the pork and polenta. I will definitely return.
The coziest, best restaurant/bar in Colorado. The chef owns a 425 acre farm, and grows/raises nearly all of the food served at Bramble. The bar team is extraordinary. Farm-to-glass cocktails are a revelation. The service is warm, smart and professional. The food is exquisite. This is a standard for savvy locals - THE place for a convivial night with interesting-awesome drinks and food.
The cocktails were awesome--and reading the list of all the choices was a delight in itself. It was hard to choose, they all sounded so good and unique. We loved the "I Thought You'd Be Taller" mezcal creation. Then there was the food: oh well. Almost tasteles potato-pumpkin soup, overly salty and fatty lamb ragu, and a hunk of lasagna that was less than fresh and appeared to have been burned in the reheating. Not nearly the quality we've had there before, and *far* below the quality (and prices, of course) of its sister next door, the Black Cat. The ambiance of B&H is very warm and inviting, the cocktails delicious, and the food disappointing.
Wonderful little farm to table spot, with tasty small plates and excellent service. Perfect date night ambiance.
Enjoyed the service and cocktails but the food was marginal. Flourless chocolate tart was on the menu but they offered pumpkin pie instead. It seemed like it was way left over from Thanksgiving. Crust on that plus the apple tart was tough. Dinner was OK as far as the entrées went. I’ve had better meals in the past at Bramble and hare.
I was visiting from California so I had no expectations as I was not familiar with this restaurant. This was absolutely one of the best meals I've ever had, hands down. I had Thanksgiving dinner there and I can't remember when I've eaten so much., It was like home. I loved it so I visited their sister restaurant Black Cat much a couple of days later and was again blown away! The food was fresh, flavorful and prepared perfectly.
For my wife and I, Bramble & Hare sits in the top two restaurants in Boulder, joined by Jax Fish House. B&H is an original, growing much of what it serves. And what it serves is always good, and often extraordinary. It reminds us of a cozy English pub, with warmth that extends to the waiters and staff.
Outstanding service and food. We enjoy the fixed menu. Every visit has been wonderful.
Great food and creative cocktails. The service was great.
The farm to table food is delicious. My partner and I ordered the 3-course meals for $38, which included an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Everything was prepared wonderfully and tasted delicious. I ordered the vodka drink with the beet syrup and OMG! It was so delicious! The ambiance is fun. Bramble and Hare is rather small so it did not get too loud or over crowded. The waitstaff was extremely friendly.
Excellent food. Knowledgeable and attentive servers. Great bar.
This is one of my favorite restaurants of all time for ever reason. Special call out to next level care to where food comes from, fantastic service, and custom cocktails from a bartender that is an artist. Love.
The food was great and the wait staff was knowledgeable and attentive.
Unfortunately I can not recommend the Bramble and Hare. I find it interesting that a high noise level is considered "energetic" I find it annoying. I don't care about how the loud mouth at the next table job was that day. I'm not interesting with sharing with the half dozen strangers around me how my day went either but must because my table partner, 2 feet away, can't hear me. But on to the food; I ordered the Trout which turned out to be salmon sitting pale and lonely under some shavings of celery and rhubarb (actually the most flavorful thing on the plate), surrounded by tasteless if slightly bitter butternut bechamel, on top of a mound of farro whose flavor overpowered the poor salmon. My partner ordered the Brisket, which was fine, but the sauce added nothing and he thought the sweet potatoes were out of place. We opted for the "farm dinner"so also received an appetizer, the roasted beet plate needed several larger offers of chevre to make it more interesting, but the field green salad with slices of fresh fruit was bright, flavorful and the best part of the meal. The dessert selection included your typical chocolate cake offering, a coconut cream pie? (don't recall exact item) and another old stand by - apple pie in a jar. Nothing appealed to me but my partner ordered the apple pie in a jar and was, as I expected, so sweet it was enough to curl your toes and make your teeth hurt. After consuming just a salad and piece of salmon we decided a stop at Taco Bell was a good way to end the evening.
Always delicious... Especially the vegan chocolate cake
My veggie dish, with beans and garbanzos, as well as a starter potato dish were both seriously undercooked. The sauce was heavy. The potato leek soup was gummy.
