Bramble & Hare, the original Farmhouse Kitchen and Bistro, opened its doors in July 2012. Founded by Chef Eric Skokan and his wife, Jill, as the sister restaurant to their Black Cat Farm~Table~Bistro.

Bramble & Hare has a lively, warm atmosphere in its three charming dining rooms. It is located in the heart of Boulder, CO, just off the historic Pearl Street Mall.

Features a 3-course prix fixe menu with choices for each course, Hand-crafted, seasonal cocktails featuring artisanal spirits and local ingredients show the talent of our incredible bar team who make our restaurant spring to life.

The variety of produce and meats grown on their 425 acre certified Organic farm allows Chef de Cusine Heraclio Garza Silva a limitless palette of flavors, colors, and textures from which to build their award-winning cuisine.

    The food was great - the standard that I remember from the old Black Cat. It pains me however to have to report the service was abysmal. We ordered pre-dinner cava and it came out in half-full champagne flutes. Another server then approached our table with full wine glasses and then left. We questioned our server and he made up a nonsensical story that was super awkward and made us feel super uncomfortable. The whole timing and cadence of the service was completely off. We were not brought bread service initially despite the tables around us receiving bread. We ordered drinks. 15 minutes later they had still not arrived and we had to remind them another two times. The server was highly inexperienced and gravitated between continually approaching the table at inappropriate moments and then disappearing for lengthy periods. A bottle of wine that was ordered turned up as one glass. This was then corrected by bringing a bottle after a super awkward and unnecessary conversation with the server. 15 minutes later the manager showed up and apologized, explaining that we had been poured the wrong wine. At this stage it was comical, however, the manager did offer the wine complimentary. For the caliber of restaurant for a prix fix three-course menu for $69 per head the service needs to be radically overhauled. They need to clean house and bring in servers with significant fine dining experience to showcase the food and elevate the overall experience for diners.

    I've eaten here twice in the last month - outstanding both times. Incredibly fresh and constantly changing set price menu, and fantastic service. Great bartender also - he chatted with us and created custom cocktails based on everyone's favorites. They also have a great private area for business dinners or birthday celebrations.

    Bartender awesome. My meal excellent, my husband’s just okay. Service was just okay. Had Beatles music on - which didn’t seem right for the atmosphere- Frank or Tony or soft jazz would’ve been more appropriate.

    The food was fantastic and very well done. A complex mix of veggies that fantastically supported the main part of each dish (and occasionally stole the show). I especially enjoyed the chicken confit streusel and the pork with goat cheese... Though the lamb ragu was delightful too.. the spice cake for dessert was divine, and it was really nice that they wrote happy anniversary for us on the plates with chocolate. Definitely interested in coming back

    Very special Thanksgiving meal experience. We sat in the cozy booth table at the back which felt like a private room. The menu included all of the traditional Thanksgiving options as well as some alternatives, and the cocktails were on point. A lovely way to celebrate.

    We went for the Thanksgiving day feast. Probably the best meal I’ve ever eaten! Classic dishes elevated to their perfect version (but not pretentious or over thought). Cozy charming interesting decor. Didn’t feel too crowded or loud. Definitely going back for a special occasion.

    Delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, everyone working was a delight to be around. The hustle was palpable, watching the employees keep the chaos of serving Thanksgiving under wraps. Everything was served piping hot, some of the best salmon and vegetarian food around.

    This was an exceptional experience for my family. Service was great, everyone was so polite and friendly. It was like eating at a friend’s house., except the food was wonderful, delicious and unique. I plan to go again and to make it a ritual!

    Best experience and meal we've had in a while - highly recommend! We went on a Monday night for the Harvest "dirt" dinner. The harvest was carrots that night so all four courses had carrot in them. Each course was spectacular - well balanced, unique and so tasty. I am also gluten and dairy free which normally is complicated at restaurants and my options are so limited (I can never eat a prix fixe menu). But Bramble & Hare did it flawlessly and I didn't have to skimp on the flavor or options to go DF & GF. I will be dreaming about this dinner for days and weeks to come - we are big fans!

    It's a limited menu, but they don't do anything badly. The lamb shank was fantastic, and the wine list was excellent and reasonably priced.

    Service and decor were perfect. We had a lovely anniversary dinner with complimentary bubbles. Attentive and thoughtful staff. The food and food quality are good but they do not stand out from other high end restaurants.

    Went for our 15 yr anniversary dinner. Sorry to say we will not be back. Bang for the Buck: 1 - Food and flavors were lack-luster and outright disappointing. - Not worth $68 for 3 courses. I've had many $30 meals that were 10x as creative and flavorful as I did here. I have no issues paying $68 per person for a great meal. This meal is well over $100 per person with 1 glass of wine... spend your money elsewhere, you'll be far happier. Food Flavor: 1 -- Of all the items on two main entrees only the lentils (the 'side item') had real flavor. -- steak chewy with little flavor. Cooked medium (not med rare as ordered) and a "thin cut" under 1/2" thin. Grass fed, I could tell from the little flavor it had. Grass fed is often more firm but should have a lot more flavor. This did not. I suspect partly because the cut was so thin, it doesn't retain the juices like it should. A good chef would know better. -- rabbit leg was semi-dry, basically just baked without sauce, marinade, glaze, etc... nothing to make it pop. Flavor was a cross between chicken and turkey. I've had more 10x more enjoyment from a $5 rotisserie Costco chicken. Food Uniqueness & Creativity: 1 - Apps and main entrees were disappointing, not creative at all. - Deserts were very good and unique. Only thing I liked here. Food Quality: 4 - seemed fresh but that didn't matter as there was no creativity or flavor in the dishes. Food Quantity: 5 For the price the quantity of food was proper. Ambiance / Decor: 3 Nothing special. Not a private or romantic setting. Service: 3 It was fine, nothing special.

    Wonderful food, but as soon as we sat down our waiter came over and asked if we wanted to order food & drinks. I had thought he would explain the menu at least a bit & give us some time to settle in and at least look at the menu. He did forget to bring us bread (we asked twice after seeing other tables getting it), & he forgot our wine. We did feel a bit rushed, & I would have liked to have heard a little bit about the farm. The food was wonderful, best we have had in boulder. But I felt like they needed to slow down a bit. We will definitely be back.

    Table side service was great but obvious issues in the back/kitchen/bar were distracting and there were staff interprofessional issues that spilled over into the dining room.

    Do not go here if you are a light eater. It’s a three course dinner and the appetizer was huge. I got a salad that was big enough to be a full meal. They were out of IPA beer which disappointed my husband. All food was excellent and the setting was unique. Cost with tip and one drink each was $220 so not for cheapos.

    We secured a reservation well in advance of date due to CU/USC football game. Our waitress and staff were attentive. We started with the charcuterie board, tomato soup & salmon tartar. We had Cornish hen and salmon as our entrees. We ended with pistachio baclava and berry curd tart. The sommelier was knowledgeable, and the wine selection was outstanding. We enjoyed great conversation, and the food was on point. We are looking forward to our next visit to Boulder and the operning of the Farm Restaurant.
