Great food great service. Very comfortable and fun.
Was my Boyfriends 65th Birthday. I was NOT IMPRESSED! Either was he. But said thank you to me for the special occasion. He had Sirloin which was done medium the way he wanted it. It was so tough he left half of it. I had the Ribeye. Which I was told it would be another 20 mins or so until done. Could they grill it? I said yes no problem. It had so much FAT on it that I may have received a quarter of it that I ate was meat. The other three quarters was fat I was totally disappointed. I had requested on the reservations. That they bring out a dessert and I would pay for it. However wanted it as a surprise. We ordered desert and they put candles on both desert's and the waiter was like. It is one of your Birthday's. OH My Goodness. I was so NOT HAPPY!! We will not be back
It was amazing and fresh! Large portions!
We had a fantastic time last Saturday. Our meal was delicious and beautiful. We truly enjoyed our server Matt and highly recommend him, he was knowledgeable and friendly. He also sold us on attending the 5 course meal pairing. We look forward to going back.
Really great find! Come hungry! Portions are generous--really creative chef. The Seafood Tower was a phenomenal value.
I really liked Everything about this place. We started with a glass of champagne to start. Then My date got the lobster stuffed halibut and I got the prime rib with hollandaise and crab! No complaints from me. This place is really cute and has good service. We were taking our time and our server did not make us feel rushed. I liked the video of the animals on the wall as well that out a good touch to the ambience. Definitely recommended
Excellent seafood, especially for landlocked CO. This is one of our favorites in the Springs.
We went here after coming from VA to find a decent seafood place. This place had a clever name and a great and open inside. Right through the doors it smells like the ocean and with the pirate pictures on the wall it added to the ambiance of it. We were served quickly starting with the Shark Bowel for 2 (highly recommended for a date night drink) and some raw oysters for $1.50 an oyster because of happy hour. Never had oysters before and honestly after tonight I’m a fan. We decided to get the seafood tower and it was delicious, sadly for $75 I think the meal should’ve been $60 due to the lobster being not too bad and only 6 oysters and 6 shrimp. However, we still enjoyed it so it was fine. Finally dessert which I’m sad to say was the worst part. Not that it was bad mind you, but needs half the peanut butter filling. Overall it was fun and a place we plan on going back. The best of the meal I’d have to say was the service, spot on!
Birthday celebration was phenomenal!
Love the atmosphere of the place. I love the paintings on the walls and the food was great. Service was most excellent.
Ceviche is delicious and all of the entrees are tasty.
Enjoyed our meals. Everyone seemed pleased with both the seafood and steak offerings. Grace was a courteous server. Ambiance was nice, upscale while not opulent, pirate themed paintings adorn the walls. Our table was ready on time. As it was a Sunday night it was not very busy. Overall a pleasant experience.
By far the best steak and seafood we have had. The crab, and lobster were outstanding. The steak was one of the best I have had in Colorado, not just the springs.
Our table was ready when we walked in. Our server was attentive and answered our questions about the ingredients. The food was excellent and the portions were appropriate. We'll definitely be back.
Our experience was excellent. This was good food and it was not overpriced like most of the downtown restaurants. I am so glad we were able to have this wonderful dinner in a relaxed atmosphere.
Lobster roll has no filler. Splurge and get the fries instead of the salad. Will not need dinner tonight.
We had a great shrimp cocktail and a delicious bottle of wine. I had the scallops that were tasty and my husband had a great fish entree. Our waitress was outstanding. We really enjoy the decor and great people watching. Thanks
Service was not as good as we normally get at this place
Love coming here always great food and fun
Loved the seafood menu and the fries! We appreciated that the noise level was low enough so that we could all hear each other over the table. Wait staff was friendly but not too friendly which we also appreciated.
second time I've eaten here, the first time was decent, this time not so good, they were out of some menu items and drinks, our food came and we had no forks, I had to go and ask for some, my steak was not good, the shrimp in alfredo still had tails on, decided to skip dessert, it was pricey for the food we had, won't be back
Last minute find while staying in Colorado Springs. The food was creative and very good! Great seafood. We will be back to try the other dishes in the future and wish we lived closer!
I had the pleasure of taking my wife here on our 9th anniversary on Saturday (st paddys day for everybody else). The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. I would love to come back again for a regular date night. I would absolutely recommend bonny and read to anybody coming to Colorado springs. It's okay to send me some free beverage coupons. I'll allow it.
Quantity of food was poor. Not enough for the price.
We eat out often and particularly enjoy seafood. We are so glad we found Bonnie and Read! Prices and food quality are very good and we’d highly recommend this restaurant.
We had a great time at Bonny & Read! Matt was our waiter and he was great. Very accommodating to our allergies and the kitchen staff were too. The food itself was wonderful and plenty. We will be back!
Had a wonderful meal here. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was cool and the food was fantastic. It really was a nice date night for us and would gladly recommend to all of our friends and family. Will definitely be coming back.
We were attracted by the happy hour, with good appetizers. The steak was excellent. The underwater video reminded me of scuba diving. This night the music was soft enough for reasonable conversation.
Ciopinni was incredible, I highly recommend it!
This was my third visit to Bonny & Read and by far the best yet. There were three of us dining, and decided to split the Seafood Tower. Every piece of fish (oysters on half-shell, steamed shrimp, whole lobster and king crab legs) was excellent - really tasted fresh! Amazing to find good seafood in the middle of Colorado, and I'm an east coast girl who knows her seafood. We had been here twice before and service so-so, but this time our server was very good and attentive, even though it was a busy Saturday. I honestly think they have their A-game on with both food and service on weekend nights. Would recommend keeping dishes simple - best way to enjoy good fish! Added a side of asparagus and some (not so healthy but tasty) fries. All good. Lively street scene out the window and decent noise level rounded out a very nice outing. We will return.
Celebrating a promotion
We went to Bonny and Read for Happy Hour as we had to leave by 6pm for a show. We were pleasantly surprised by the appetizers available during HH and by the prices for food and drinks. We ordered two of the lobster cobb salads and they were amazing. We also indulged in the desserts so overall a great experience. We plan to return another time to sample the entrees as although not cheap, they look like they'd be worth the price.
Great place for an all important date night. We don't get to have many and when you go to a place that sets the perfect tone, why ask for more. The server was awesome and went above and beyond to ensure my date and I were well attended to.
This was our second visit and enjoyable each time . My husband and I had the snapper for two. The presentation was clever as the snapper is served as a whole fish and appears swimming in a lovely tasting glaze , lightly breaded and sprinkled with micro greens as if swimming in the moss of the sea. The flavors are outstanding in this dish served with coconut rice and vegetables . Our waiter was attentive yet allowed us to dine without any feeling of rushing us . The only negative I can think of is the placement of the booth was in line of the breeze each time the door opens . This is one of our favorites and we will return .
The staff was great. Quiet, Quaint and very cool ! Love going there for any occasion! I had a sirloin that absolutely melted in my mouth.
Got a nice booth it was tucked away from the door. Tried the lobster stuffed cod. It’s very much like having crab cake on top of cod so if you don’t like crab cake don’t order this.
My friend did the prosciutto wrapped scallops and substituted in the asparagus. My dish had asparagus too and both were cooked perfectly.
The happy hour wine was very tasty. We enjoyed the happy hour specials. I had 6 oysters on the half shell so good. Plus we had the ceviche which is very tasty as well but the chips seem to be a bit on the greasy side.
Service was outstanding and we really appreciated the attention we received and the service received from everyone in the restaurant.
One of the best meals we've had in Colorado Springs. Excellent service and great cocktails. We'll be back
Shrimp plate was great for lunch. Friend got french dip sandw, saith it was very good. Hush puppies are fantastic!
Excellent spot for a romantic dinner with good food. Everything was well prepared, although my steak was slightly over done.
