Bob's Steak & Chop House - Grapevine Ratings and Reviews
Everytime we come to Bob's Grapevine we have a great meal! The Kansas City strip was outstanding, my wife had a lobster tail also terrific. They offer a shrimp sampler appetizer that is a must do. The atmosphere is special and now decorated for Christmas it looks particularly amazing. Great friendly staff. We just celebrated our anniversary AGAIN at Bob's!!!
We liked everything about the restaurant except the noise. It was very difficult to carry on a conversation. I don't know how this can be resolved, but due to that we chose low rating on ambiance. The food was excellent. Our waitress was great and accommodating. It was a little pricey, but not too bad for the quality and amount of food you got.
The ribeye steak just wasn't very good. It was supposed to be a prime ribeye but was not tender at all. It contained a lot of connective tissue that also made it tough. The rest of the food was really good. Tables were very close together and it was very loud. Conversation was tough with people at your table.
It was a Monday night and I didn't expect a crowd so I booked a business dinner. However, the restaurant was packed by 7:00 PM and VERY loud, so conversation was difficult. Past that, food and service were exceptional. The fact that the meals come with sides and not served a la carte is an additional plus.
In a world of reduced flavored steaks stuck in a sous vide warming bath for days waiting for someone to order them (looking at you The Keg, your steaks are dry tasteless garbage), it was nice to get an actual flavorful, juicy steak cooked as order. Great wine list. Very good portion size. The rack of lamb was cooked to order and was very very good. Great service. It is a very noisy environment but not in a bad way, just don't expect a quiet intimate experience. It is more of a bold old school upscale steak place. Overall the experience to expense ratio was an extreme winner. My only complaint was the steak knives were ridiculously dull. When you order a rare steak or in my case a rare rack of lamb, you need a knife that can actually cut rare meat. The food was so good, I would bring my own knife next time.
Been to Bob's many times. Always a great meal. Amazing bread and butter and pickled cucumbers and peppers on the table right away is a great start. Love their salads and steaks cooked simply taste fantastic. Great sides too! Prices are quite high as to be expected in an upscale steakhouse. Service is great, but slow, which I believe is intentional. It's meant for business dinners and nice dinners out where courses come out slowly so you can relax, talk and enjoy the experience and not feel rushed. Since this time we were there for my son's birthday they gave him a big piece of to die for chocolate fudge cake on the house. I have a shellfish allergy and they always let me know that will be noted by the kitchen and I have nothing to worry about. Looking forward to our next excuse for a great steak dinner at Bob's.
We had a 7pm reservation we arrived 10 minutes early for and were forced to wait 30 minutes. What is the point of a reservation if it is not honored? Was very embarrassing. Food was fine. Waiter was excellent. Bob’s is not so much better than the other steakhouses that it can provide bad service and get away with it.
Took my wife there for the first time for her birthday. We had reservations and arrived 45 minutes early but was offered to be seated immediately if we wanted. The server Paul was awesome and asked about why we were there. We explained it was our first time and that it was my wife's birthday. A few minutes later the manager came to the table to welcome us, find out a little about us and to let him know if there was anything he could do to make our first time experience positive. We both had rib eyes and they were cooked perfectly. The spinach salad with applewood bacon was phenomenal. We will definitely be going back. The only thing that threw us off was, we figured it was upscale and that dress would be more dressy vs casual. There were people dressed up but also many in nice jeans and shirts, some even in shorts and t-shirts. The latter we felt was to casual for that place and we did feel a little overdressed but as I said about 1/3 of the place was dressed nicely, 1/3 nice shirts/jeans
Go for the beef! The food overall was solid—but the steak was OUTSTANDING (bone-in 12oz filet, medium rare). The meat virtually melted in my mouth. Sides were good and dessert was also good (note: GOOD). Service was excellent—good to have someone who know food and wine...and of course—the menu.
We love Bob's! It's our go to for a date night, special occasions, need a break from life moments or any good reason to have a nice dinner and get away from the stress of everything :-). We start off in the bar always, where the bartenders are masters of the martini! We then move to our booth to enjoy their bread and pickles, along with a fantastic steak, exceptional salads/side dishes, and a great bottle of wine from their extensive wine list. Mary, our favorite server, is phenomenal and takes great care of us! After dinner, I enjoy the berries and cream dessert, which is delicious and oh so light. But our favorite part of the evening is spent with Izzy, the best server in the cigar lounge. We sit on the leather couch, watching whatever game is on TV, enjoying a fine cigar along with cognac, scotch or another martini. It's honestly one of the best restaurants in our area, and we're very lucky to spend time there. Thanks again Bob's for everything you do...you are stellar!
