About
Our menu changes frequently and focuses on seasonal ingredients. We prepare everything on our menu from scratch, from the buttermilk biscuits at brunch to the hand cut fries on our daily grind burger. We offer dinner five nights a week, and Sat-Sun Brunch.
Our dining room is a mix of brick and reclaimed wood (we even have wood from a barn the owner's great-grandfather built on the family farm in 1902). Our quaint patio is one of Kansas City's best kept secrets.
Tried this place out for brunch and it was so good! Everything was made from scratch and so yummy. We will definitely be going back!
Great atmosphere...large portions..good value for your money..like the location.
Get the k.f.c. Korean fried chicken. Sweet and good. It’s an entree but 4 of us shared it as an appetizer.
Our waitress was fantastic. Recommended a beer I hadn’t tried.
It’s dark in there. Cozy. Not super crowded.
There is a parking lot across the street. Very convenient.
Food was excellent! Restaurant is open concept, therefore, tends to be noisy. Server could have been nicer, she was rather rude. Hopefully just having a bad night. Would definitely return!
We continue to go to BLVD Tavern because they are consistently great. Here is a casual place with very high quality food. The lobster gnocchi is fantastic, the short rib mac and cheese is really really good and the steak frites is the best value steak in the city.
A nice atmosphere with acceptable food and drinks. Not a gastropub really as advertised. More just a nice corner bar with above average offering in food and drink selection. If you are looking for a foodie experience this doesn't meet the mark. Looking for a cute place to drink and talk then this could be a go to.
Great good! Amazing service and the place is really cool. We did a group happy hour friend outing loved it!
Great food and atmosphere. Service could have been better. Need a happy hour menu to hand out. Great sangria. A little pricey for the portion unlike brunch where portions were large.
Food took about an hour and twenty min to come out after ordering. My food was cold.
Thankfully we had appetizers. This is not a place to come to if you are in a rush.
We met friends there for Sunday brunch. We found on street parking about two blocks away. We had reservations & got our table right away, which was the only quick thing about the whole outing. The service was lackluster and incredibly slow, even after the brunch rush seemed to die down. We experienced very long waits for our drinks, putting in our order, getting our food, refilling water, getting our check. The food was not particularly tasty (rock hard biscuits) or a good value (over $20 for a small bowl of shrimp & grits). The noise level was so high that having a conversation across the table was difficult. We will not go back nor recommend to friends.
With fish ''cod'' and chips at $20 I thought it would be better than average bar food.. The single fillet was unexceptional and the fries were wilted. Also the acoustics was such that conversation was difficult.
That back room is a bit blah and not inviting compared to the front of the restaurant.
They had the best lobster chowder we have ever had! We booked our Dining Out group for September it was so good! Nick was a great waiter and the bartender made great drinks!
Service was horrible. Our waiter never stopped by on his own doing in the two hours we were there. Flagged him down for drinks, food, and check by waving across the place. I typically just go with the flow and enjoy the company, but we almost ate our arms off waiting for him to come back and take our order then waiting for said order. The food was pretty good, but very unreasonably prices for American/bar food. About $17-20 a plate for a burger or chicken. Drinks were moderately priced. Won’t return here.
I found this tavern searching for poutine as my husband has been on a poutine kick recently and we were planning a trip to KC. The happy hour food menu is what caught my eye and the food was outstanding! Best poutine I’ve eaten. My husband ordered the lobster and corn chowder. I’m not a fan of seafood, but wow it was really good and the corn was sweet and delicious. The person at the next table ordered a pork chop that looked amazing and my husband has already decided that is what he plans on getting the next time we are in KC. I would definitely recommend this place.
My aunt and cousin came in town and we met them here for dinner. The food was delicious. We were very hungry when we arrived and ordered the poutine fries and the chicken wings as appetizers and they were both delicious. I had a fish dish and everyone else in my party had the burgers with side salads. We also enjoyed a very tasty bottle of red wine. Very good and we will definitely be back soon.
We went for an early dinner. The food was great and the cocktails hit the spot. We will come back for happy hour during week.
Fathers Day brunch. Fantastic service and amazing food. We’ll be back!!!
Good food. Creative chef.
Their menu is very diverse. The waitress was fabulous! Food was good also. Coffee was delicious.
Sea bass ponchatrain dish was excellent! Pork chop was a bit overcooked therefore kinda dry.
Went to BLVD tavern to try somewhere new for Brunch. Was not a good choice- our group are regular brunchers in Kc. We were sat in the dark back corner by the bathrooms, end of the bar. Their mimosas are terrible! #1 it is all juice, and #2 it is not even orange juice it tastes like Tang. The biscuits were hard as a rock and dry as heck, we asked the server for more gravy because they were so dry and was charged $5 for a side, on top of the $16 dish.... Our server was not great, no personality and messed up the bills at the end. Some places should just not do brunch if they don’t know how to do it. Fix your food quality & mimosas for sure.
Hostess was very friendly and overall very well run establishment
Great service and food as always. Highly recommend!
The people who run Blvd Tavern could not be any nicer! They always make you feel at home!
Awful. Mediocre food and the service was worse. I asked for a simple substitution on the side and was flat out refused. The basic explanation was that their potato prep process was much more than my request. When my food did come the meat was nothing close to medium rare but instead was so well done it was crumbly. After I asked the manager about the substitution and he refused, he told me maybe I should have chosen a different restaurant. He was right. Learn from my mistake and eat somewhere else.
Shrimp and grits were absolutely amazing and I loved the atmosphere. Prices were a bit high compared to what we got, but not enough to not eat there again were we back in town.
One of the great locally owned restaurants in Kansas City. Always good food and drinks!
Food was well prepared and very good. We brought a child to an early dinner and the server was not helpful in catering a meal towards her. In general the server was less than enthusiastic to be serving us!
This was the best decision i made for a Mother's Day outing. My mom enjoyed every bit of it. We will for sure be back for other meals.
Amazing food. Made a reservation for mother’s day, there was a little mix up technology wise when I updated my reservation online later to include one more person and they were completely understanding and accommodating. Food was out of this world good. Music was a little loud, but enjoyable. Atmosphere is laid back and comfortable. I will definitely be back often.
This was a great pre-wedding shower dinner restaurant.
Wonderful first-time experience with our sons and their girlfriends. Enjoyed the fantastic hummus w harissa and pita - great flavor. Dinner choices for the group included the tuna poke, steak frites, diver scallops, kfc korean fried chicken wings and shrimp & grits. Some of the wings went home, all other dishes cleaned completely. I'd have liked a bit more kick to the shrimp & grits, but that's just me! My only real complaint is parking in this area of town, especially on a Friday night. I would strongly encourage the restaurants in this area to band together and create a valet service. Perhaps it's an area frequented more often by the crowd living in the local apartments and lofts. Personally, while I really liked the restaurant and the food, I will not come again on a weekend night - it's not worth the hassle factor for me.
Everyone in our crew had positive things to say about their experience. The Korean wings are delicious - and the hummus was fantastic, too! Quiet enough for a conversation, but loud enough to feel like a welcoming place.
Easter lunch with family and very disappointed.
Unexpectedly nice!
Great place friendly people! Excellent food!!
We love Blvd Tavern! The food is always outstanding. We can't wait until the patio is open again!
We planned to see a play at the Kauffman Center and found the Boulevard Tavern, it got good reviews and the location is very close to Kauffman Center, so we thought we would give it a try. The best word I could use to describe the experience is disappointment. The prices were above average but the food was not, it was ok but for the price it was disappointing.
Went there with out of town family on Sunday. Great table and service. The hummus was excellent and large amount for 5 people. The cheese burgers were so good and came with wonderful salad or fries. Prices for beers great and lots of choices.
