For the food, I would make a couple of changes to how my dish was cooked. It was a lovely catfish filet with kale under it (my choice, instead of rice), but the kale was under-cooked and way too chewy, and the cook did not even bother to take the spines or stems off, leaving big chunks of wood-like, un-chewable pieces attached to the slices. This is simply laziness—or maybe just not caring? Kale should be stemmed and cooked in a way that it doesn’t take forever to chew it. Other than that everything was really good.

This past New Year's Eve some friends and I did a big group dinner here, and the same group met up for brunch because we loved it so much the first time around. The food is just incredible (hooray for many vegetarian options on the menu), the space is gorgeous and welcoming, and the volume level is perfect in that you're easily able to hold a conversation over the music. So looking forward to coming here again and again.

The food and service were amazing. The physical restaurant needs some attention. It is showing age and lacking in décor.
We asked for a good table upstairs. they sat us downstairs near the kitchen. The lighting was a little bright for a fine-dining experience. There was fluorescent light coming from the kitchen.

Went for Valentine's day, had a limited menu. Waited 1 hr 50 min for food to arrive. Cost for value of meal didn't quite add up. Probably skip it for dinner in the future. Brioche French Toast Is good though during brunch.

My wife and I celebrated Valentine's Day at the Blue Bird and enjoyed it. My wife remarked that she is normally leery of Valentine's with the throngs all packing the restaurants, but we were both pleased to feel a mellow vibe at the Blue Bird that didn't feel crowded or busy even with all the tables full. Great food, healthy and local. Love the tin ceiling and tile floor. Service was attentive but not hassling us every 5 minutes to top off our water glasses. Thanks Blue Bird!

They did have a few vegetarian choices which was appreciated. After ordering, it took a long time for the food to arrive. For some reason kitchen smoke filled the dining area which was odd as this restaurant has ambience it seems like they are trying to create a nice atmosphere inside. Was disappointed

We went there for the restaurant week, but ended up ordering regular brunch dishes. They were very good. Cozy, cute interior and great service. The only complain is the poor ventilation in the kitchen (we smelled like food by the time we walked out of the restaurant) But we will go back again for the great food.
