We had reservations for 4 people at 6:45 PM. We arrived at 6:35 and were told that we'd have to wait to be seated which was fine. By 7 PM, the small area around the entrance was full of people with reservations waiting for tables that weren't available. I have a physical disability and told the 2 women managing the front that I'm unable to stand for long periods of time and can't sit in the type of chairs that they have in the bar (after being told 3 times that I should go wait in the bar and saying 3 times that I couldn't).
After 20 minutes we asked if we could order drinks. We had waited 15 minutes for a table at Bleu Provence once before and someone came after 5 minutes, took our drink orders and delivered them to us to have while we waiting. This time we were told we had to go to the bar to have drinks. We finally got seated after standing around for over 30 minutes. The food was as wonderful as usual except for my fish which was very dry. Disappointing after such a long wait.
We’ve been to this restaurant a number of times and loved it but this wasn’t a good experience. I assume that they had over booked, hadn’t told the people dining earlier that the table was only available until 6:45 and the 2 women managing the front didn't handle the situation as well as they could have. We’ll try it once more to make sure that this was an aberration but won't be back if this is their new normal.
We have been going to Bleu Provence for many years. We noticed a decline in the quality of food last year but figured we caught them on an off night.
We went this year for a family member's birthday and will not be going back again for a long time.
Their signature dish, the grilled mussels, were barely edible. The first two dishes came as appetizers and had to be sent back because they were too cold. Another person ordered them as an entree and they were not grilled as prepared in the past. The sauce was overpowering.
Other entrees were equally underwhelming. The best I can say about the experience was that our waiter was extremely efficient and charming and the table we sat at was quiet with a great view of 3rd Avenue.
This has always been one of our favorite restaurants but we will not be returning until the food improves.
As usual, food was outstanding! Getting the food out seemed to be a challenge. It took quite some time for our entree orders to be taken, and then took quite a while to get it. The restaurant was not overly busy, so did not see the justification for this
Nice atmosphere, excellent service and good food make this restaurant well worth a visit!
Great food. My wife and I celebrated her birthday there. It's away from the tourist area.
Our group of 5 had a lovely experience as part of Restaurant Week in Naples and a fund raiser for The Humane Society. The staff was charming, cordial and attentive and happily not pushy. The food was terrific, especially the soups and the desserts. Would recommend this gem to anyone that appreciates fine dining.
First time at the restaurant. Good atmosphere; good food; good mixologist and wait staff. Will be back.
This is quickly becoming one of our favorite spots to eat in Naples. The food is excellent and we have always enjoyed fantastic service. The fois gras is as good as we have had in Paris. The wine list is exceptional. The bar is cozy and the drinks are super.
Service and meal were excellent
Deplorably bad food. Everything was underseasoned. Duck confit was dry and tasteless. Veal burger looked like cat food. Food all looked and tasted like it had been prepared in the morning and left sitting out all day. Dessert crepes were sodden and inedible.
Great every time. One of our favorites in Naples. A must if in town.
We had the naples restaurant week menu which was good. For the price you are definitely getting a steal. Our service was great, we had a turkish gentleman who i can remeber his name.
I am big wine person as I have my certifications in the study. Their list is amazing if you're ready to read a text book. Please please please get an ipad that helps organize this, it will be much worth the investment; 'menuvative' is a great company to use for this.
Delicious food, attractive setting. We all enjoyed our meals and had excellent service. Worth another trip soon.
Bleu Provence does not disappoint. Interesting menu and well prepared. Spectacular wine list and very knowledgeable and helpful sommelier.
We've eaten here often and they never disappoint. The only negative this time was that it was extremely noisy. The night was rainy so no one was eating outside. As there is nothing soft to absorb noise it can get very loud. But they still have some of the best French food in Naples.
Waitress was fine but the server abruptly put our food in the table questioning who got what... for an upscale restaurant, this is not good! Also, at 7:30 pm, they had run out of the appetizer/salad featured in their specials. Not in a hurry to go back.
We've been enjoying Bleu Provence for many years every time we're in Naples we make it a point of visiting what was once our favorite restaurant but this time was our last. Unfortunately, we found the quality has diminished and not worth the price they're charging. The goat cheese salad with apples looked like a burnt egg in the middle of about 7 leaves of arugula. The sea bass was accompanied by a scoop of mash potatoes with two asparagus spears. Definitely greatly disappointing and no longer worth recommending. It's a great shame.
As always, Bleu Provence was excellent. Despite the rain, we were accommodated outside and enjoyed the ambiance. It did seem the service was a bit slower this evening, but the food was its usual great presentation. Small wonder this is my favorite restaurant.
Bleu Provence came highly recommended including someone leaving as we were walking in. The menu seemed encouraging. The selections the four of us chose were all different and varied from not impressed (polite term), Octopus and Mussels, to Ok, Pate and Tartar, to really good, Lobster Creme Brûlée and Argentinian Shrimp. The Crepe Suzette was heavy, possibly reheated. What was most disappointing was the wine. Our first bottle was a 2012 white that seemed to be just past peak. The second bottle we ordered was significantly discounted but still a bit pricy. We figured it was a lingering bottle the restaurant wanted to move from the cellar. The wine should not have been offered. It was well past prime. Several polite comments were made to the server which were ignored. Yes we should have been more vocal in accepting the wine but in an establishment with their reputation he should have known there was a problem just by the color of the wine. Needless to say we will not return.
Bleu Provence was once again a wonderful evening of dining for my wife and me. Excellent and attentive service is a warm welcome to what is to come from the kitchen. The bouillabaisse was perfect, but as good as it was, it paled in comparison to the best crêpes suzette of our experience in world wide travel. The flavors still linger in our memory and will certainly bring us back again. Well done!!!
We had a wonderful dinner and enjoyed great wines. We actually bought a case to ship home. Francois was the best and helped us immensely
Excellent restaurant. Always enjoy going there! Our waiter, Murat, was great.
Each diner in our group agreed all of the plates exceeded our expectations making this one of the best restaurants we have dined in for quite some time. Appetizers included tuna tartare, salmon with arugula, and soup. Entrees included swordfish, duck confit and sea bass(all ample portions). Deserts included pear tarte, Ille flottante, and violet ice cream. Wine selection was suprisingly wide ranging beyond the usual French and Californians. The Pieropon La Rocca Soave was delicious and a delightful find on the wine list. This was my mother's birthday and she was thrilled with the entire evening. Despite not having dined here in several years we were rewarded by this return visit renewing our fond memories of this restaurant.
A very special place that we discovered on our last vacation day in Naples. The service is exemplary and the food is exceptional. The wne list is one of the most extensive and we dine all over the globe.
Highly recommend for any occasion as well as regular dining!
We come here often and enjoy this restaurant. The food is consistently good and so is the service. No so much tonight. We brought guests and have to say the service was less than acceptable. First the appetizers were forgotten. This happens so no big deal. But waiting so long to have the empty plates picked, dessert menus offered and orders taken was nothing short of frustrating. It took almost 2 hours for a two course meal with the food arriving shortly after it was ordered. Felt we had to apologize to our guests.
This is a perfect venue to celebrate a special occasion. Charming decor, intimate setting, and wonderful food make this restaurant an excellent dining experience.
This is our 2nd and no doubt one of many visits to Bleu Provence. Our waiter, this time William, was great. He was so cheerful and enthusiastic, you can tell he knows much about food and the menu at BP. Amongst our menu items, we enjoyed, Escargot (some of the best you will ever have!), Steak Tartare and the Pompano (absolutely delicious!). There is such energy and love amongst the patrons you can't help but know you are in the right place.
We very much enjoyed the ambience, the food was spectacular, but the service needs improvement. The waitress was not able to keep water filled and forgot to bring coffee and other items when ordered.
Always fun and popular, Bleu Provence offers a modern French menu in a very comfortable setting and one of the most extensive wine cellars in Naples.
The meal was fabulous.
The atmosphere is so welcoming.
Thursday evenings food was delicious. It is usually but this was very good. But we almost did not come because my daughters friends, had a very bad experience at this restaurant and felt they were being treated badly because they were Asian. (And very wealthy, world travelers who would know the difference.). If I wasn't coming with a friend I would have cancelled.
The food was good but the quantity was very small for the price. The waiter was excellent, very knowledgeable and helpful, service was quick. Ambience is very nice.
I had been disappointed by Bleu Provence the last few years but they seem to have greatly improved and our dinner Monday night was highly rated by everyone.
Bleu Provance consistently serves the best french cuisine in Naples. Add to that the best wine list in Florida and you have the makings of an outstanding evening.
Very pleasant but extremely noisy. Probably won't return. We like to hear the conversation at the table rather than everyone else 's.
Excellent, you have to go.
A bit expensive but extremely authentic. Their fish soup is like none other except villa france? Our 4 th time there !!
Food was delicious, well paced service and a lovely celebration evening. When we were seated, I asked to not be in the corner but told table I asked for wasn't available. It was never occupied.
We will be back for another fine meal.
When one thinks of special occasion dining in Naples, Bleu Provence is always on the list, both because of the quality and choices of the food as well as the excellent service. Also, the wine list is superb, with quality at both ends of the price range.
excellent food and service in very pleasant french like atmosphere . Usually Mother's Day fare is not good but Bleu Provence did a great job. Fixed price 3 course menu with nice selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts which were very well prepared. One of the better Mother's Day dinners we've had. Well done!!
