    Have been to Blackwall Hitch a few times over the years and have never really had a "great" time. With all the options in downtown Annapolis, you'd figure there'd be more pressure to bring it to the next level. You would be mistaken. Got a gift card for Father's Day, so the wife and I decided to head down and use it. We asked for a "secluded" table as we were celebrating (and the restaurant wasn't full) and got put smack in the middle of the main dining room. We had people next to us who sat down a few minutes after us, they were greeted and served drink orders before our waitress (the same one who served them) even made eye contact with us. We finally gave up and flagged down another waiter who took our order, our original waitress finally made her way back and took our order. By that time we were ready to another round of drinks and the manager came over and brought us another round. Then our waitress came back a few minutes later with the same round. We told her that the manager had helped us, she rolled her eyes then walked off. Food came, it was fine. I got a burger and my wife a pizza, both of which are pretty hard to mess up. Check came, we gave them the gift card along with our credit card (we had no idea how much was on the gift card). Manager came back, said the card wouldn't run and that he'd "credit" $50 on our bill. He made an additional charge on the bill, said he needed to keep our gift card to "investigate" the issue and that he'd get back to us. Guess what - he never did. You kind of have to try to screw up this badly. I know we'll never be back unless it's pick up a gift card which I'll probably give to a relative. Order at your own risk, folks. They need, but don't seem to necessarily want your business.

    Great meal! Started with calamari . I don't eat it, but my friends loved it! Also fried green tomatoes were very nice. Our teen had the truffle fries and said they were vey good. I had the stuffed rockfish and it was delicious! Very tasty! Our only issue was the upcharge for using a credit card vs paying with cash. I never carry cash! I guess I'll bring cash next time, as there will be a next time!

    Overall food was great. Would suggest less old bay on the naan that comes with the crab dip. The sauce in the steak was a little salty. Overall very good, enjoyed the food, service and atmosphere.

    We were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary and wanted a nice place to celebrate. The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was great, that service was very attentive. The lobster bisque was great as were the oysters and the calamari. We had a great time and would go back again.

    Ruby was our server and absolutely amazing. She got all of our orders perfect, lots of personality and constantly checked to see if everything was good. The hostess was also wonderful

    Service was a little slow but the manager made sure we were okay. Food was delicious and worth the money for the quality and flavor. All in my party enjoyed their meals.

    We dined here with friends early Saturday evening. We were seated quickly with our reservation and they were ready for us with a high chair for a toddler. Our server checked in on us many times throughout the meal to make sure we had everything. We enjoyed drinks, apps, and entrees. Portions were generous and everything tasted great. We will come back if we are in the area.

    I'm guessing they were just short on staff. Went for a Saturday afternoon brunch for 8. From the time of seating to entrees arriving was an hour and 45 minutes. Food was ok. Sandwich was good not great. Fries were cold. Just a blah experience.
