I really wanted to love this restaurant - had heard some wonderful things about it. I do like the location, ambiance and menu, but unfortunately I received uneven and unfriendly service. Another table (both 2 tops) was seated just before me, and they received all of the server's attention and good humor. He lavished them with repeated visits, long stories, loud laughter, personal anecdotes, etc to the point that it was distracting to us and made us feel unwelcome. Finally, during one of the server's extended visits to the other table, he actually tossed the check onto our table. No gentle placement, no eye contact, no 'thank you'. That's never happened to me before and I was shocked. It was made worse by his failure to recover with a 'thank you' or 'good bye' as we stood and departed - of course he was busy entertaining the other table.
The food and staff were wonderful. It was my fiancée's birthday and they did an outstanding job. We will be back for sure.
This gem is a must-visit! Everything that we ate and drank was truly delicious.
I have been coming here for a number of years. This place never seems to disappoint, this time was no exception. The menu is small but will thought out and the daily specials are spot on. As usual the service was impeccable I have never had a bad dining experience here.
We love the Bistro- food and service are always excellent with good use of local foods without using the typical New Orleans or Cajun themes. The wine selections are varied , reasonably priced , and excellent. We especially appreciate the low noise level here- we can actually talk across the table and hear each other!
Fantastic food, beautiful ambiance, loved everything about it!
On this recent weeknight, as usual “Daisy” did not disappoint. We chose this small, neighborhood restaurant to entertain a new friend, recently made, who is moving to NOLA. This intelligent, aspiring actress has traveled the “world”, and her meal at this restaurant was” second to none”. Formerly of San Francisco and Los Angeles she found the fish special, sautéed Redfish, to be absolutely delicious.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our entrees, fish and “porcini dusted” poulet. Soups and salads were delicious and original. Finished with Creme Brûlée, shared, totally perfect.
Diane ,the proprietress, thoroughly charmed our guest while choosing a Savignon Blanc for the table which was the most delicious I have ever had.
The restaurant was full early, lively and boisterous as any good New Orleans “Bistro” should be. “Daisy” was the perfect introduction to the city for our new friend. WONDERFUL.
Tuesday date night with priority for a dependable, excellent dining experience. BD never disappoints and is consistently just the way you remember everything that was great about your last meal here. Wonderfully friendly and knowledgeable professionals able to assist the diner with any questions regarding your experience. They and the food/drinks/wine aim to please...and so do the prices. Outstanding value. Charming ambiance.
Just like coming home to a meal prepared by momma.
We may have dined on an "off night", but our server seemed confused and wasn't sure about the soups of the day, some of the sauces that came with the meals, or even what brand liquors they carried; yet she wasn't new.
The restaurant was not full, yet the service was not good. Our server spoke so low that we all misunderstood the special of the day, which was actually much better than the dish I ordered which was (sauteed shrimp and grits). The shrimp were dry, and the grits with goat cheese had a strange taste. I should have ordered the special which isn't usually on the menu.
The mussels as appetizers were delicious, and the drinks were very good; but the restaurant is so loud that you cannot hear what the people at the table are saying unless they speak loudly and/or repeat themselves.
The temperature was very warm inside the restaurant. In New Orleans when the temperature is in the mid 90's at 8:00 p.m, air conditioning is very important.
It is virtually impossible to find a place to park on the street around Bistro Daisy, so an Uber or cab would be the best option unless you wear very comfortable shoes and don't mind walking a couple of blocks in the heat to get to the restaurant between the months of June - September.
The price for the meal was very reasonable, but the food was not wonderful. There are many great restaurants in the New Orleans area. My husband and I were not impressed with Bistro Daisy.
Food and service were excellent.
Absolutley by far, my fav place in NOLA. Quaint and quiet. The food is amazing...never had anything that wasn’t amazingly delicious. And the wait staff is professional and friendly. Love this place. It’s a must go to.
My wife and I had a wonderful date night at Bistro Daisy. Every time we dine at this is restaurant is great. The food is always delicious and the service great.
Second time. Food is very good to excellent. New Orleans really is hit and miss but Bistro Daisy has been really good in the food area. Service excellent too. Got the same gentleman as last time and he knows his stuff.
Cons - it’s loud. I always seem to be seated next to a group and the noise level is deafening in these old houses with the tall ceilings. No one can hear anything so everyone just talks louder and is basically shouting at each other to be heard!
Is there not a quiet restaurant with good food in New Orleans?! Oh woe is me. :p
Wonderful night with great friends
My fave place to dine in New Orleans. Always consistent, always excellent!
Great food. Excellent service. Get there a little early, parking is limited.
Always a warm and friendly welcome as you walk through the door. Attentive service and expertly crafted meals. The fish special entree of the day is a consistent best bet. The chicken entree is certainly my personal favorite on the menu paired with a cauliflower and mushroom risotto. At $21.00 this is certainly an incredible value and a dish sure to satisfy any taste. The chef owner, his wife and staff are at the top of the dining experience in NOLA.
Amazing food, top notch service. We will definitely come back!
Absolutely delicious with wonderful service!! The entire staff made us feel like regulars!
Terrific food in a great setting. Definitely more local and not touristy like the French Quarter.
Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. I’d go back in a heartbeat.
Nice setting and good food; friendly; would go back.
Excellent as always. I highly recommend this place.
We have been going to Bistro Daisy since the first week it opened. It is our favorite restaurant! The menu is not huge, but all of the food choices are delicious and there are always specials. This is fine dining at its best.
A gem in plain sight, and one of our regular spots. Food is always excellent. My recurring favorite is the filet. My wife loves the bouillabaisse. I've also had the fish dishes, duck, and lamb. All well prepared and tasty. The spinach and apple/endive salads are also really good. Staff very friendly. It's an old New Orleans house, repurposed to a small restaurant. Charming and unpretentious. An Uptown must-go.
This is a great date place. The specialty drinks are very good. The crabmeat appetizer and warm spinach salad both excellent. I had the lamb shank which was good, however I expected A deeper more succulent flavor from the Lamb shank. We also got the shrimp and cheese grits entrée which my girlfriend said was amazing!
Our waiter gave us samples of wine pairing that were perfect for our meal.
The crêpe desert and the baked Alaska dessert we're both good… But could be better.
Overall a great experience!
I can't believe I had never been to this gem in all my years here. The inside is beautiful and has great character. First, the French bread at the start is fantastic. We had the crab and beet salad, shredded apple salad and bouillabaisse, which was so good with fresh crab, shrimp, oysters and red snapper. The blueberry cobbler was great, and I'm not a big sweets person. It had a lovely crust with just enough salt to offset the sweet. Their Gin / blackberry / lemon cocktail was also great. We will definitely be back...
Impeccable!!! We were six friends enjoying a birthday celebration and the evening at Bistro Daisy was perfect.
Food, atmosphere, staff (thank you Michael) were all fabulous.
Looking forward to our next visit.
Birthday confetti on the table....nice touch👏👏
As good as always. My favorite Restaurnt in New Orleans
Consistent service, meal quality, ambience, and value.
A “small but mighty “ kitchen which offers one of the best dining experiences in NOLA.
Wonderful food in a wonderful spot. Highly recommend it!
I have been going to Bistro Daisy on a fairly regular basis ever since it opened--at least 10 years, maybe more. I am never disappointed. The food is as superb as it was the day they opened. The menu is a wonderful blend of old favorites and new and seasonal items. The wine list is moderate in terms of quantity but the wines are carefully selected and have always been an additional source of delight. Service is impeccable--the staff are all knowledgeable, pleasant, and eager to please. Diane is a perfect hostess, and Chef Anton, her husband, is simply brilliant. New Orleans, a city whose culinary delights are legendary, is fortunate indeed to have Bistro Daisy, now a well-established and beloved part of New Orleans culinary legends.
We love Bistro Daisy! One of our favorite neighborhood restaurants! I ALWAYS order the daily fish special which never fails to be outstanding! Our server, Rachel, was the best—vibrant, energetic, attentive, accommodating. Can’t wait to go back!
Another great meal at Bistro Daisy. They always have great specials and wonderful friendly service. Escargot and spinach salad with goat cheese were excellent Skipjack (amberjack) special was very good. They have a very good filet and of course the duck is always great. Very popular with locals, and visitors to the city should try it
As always, the food was delicious and the ambiance is beautiful. Special shout-out to our server MICHAEL who was outstanding. Perfect evening!
Excellently prepared cuisine presented by an attentive, yet not intrusive, staff in an inviting atmosphere.
One of the greatest dining experiences in recent memory. I look forward to going back!
Another outstanding meal. The cold cucumber soup hit the spot. Drinks and wine are always top notch as is the service. Great restaurant.
Great intimate venue, fabulous food. Love Bistro Daisy!
Bistro Daisy is becoming a favorite for us - great prices, service, quality, atmosphere. The general vibe is great, with all employees seeming to sincerely care about your evening. In a city like NOLA, this is saying a lot - we have lots of choices, but for a guaranteed experience, Bistro Daisy has been fantastic.
