                                                    I am vegan, and the chef personally came out to talk to me about what he would prepare for me; he also hand delivered it to me when done! It was a delicious mushroom risotto, made without dairy. The green beans with garlic and shallot were cooked perfectly and the vegan strawberry sorbet was the perfect finish. My husband loved the Copper River salmon, which he said was crisp on the outside and cooked just right on the inside and we also shared the warm beet salad. The woman who waited on our table was not only delightful but very knowledgeable about the wine, and so thoughtful about my being vegan...she brought a lovely oil herb blend for the delicious warm bread. She definitely enriched our experience with her delightful personality. We love Bis on Main...it is always a great experience!

                                                    We were looking for a place to celebrate our weddidng, with the bride's brother and his wife, who arrived from Idaho. The bride's kids recommended Bis on Main, and we are thrilled that they did. From the moment we entered until the moment we left, we were coddled continuously. The food is spectacular, exceeded only by the host and the wait staff. Drinks were large and excellently preparedd. The Copper River salmon was amazing, even for this boy from the East Coast. The salads were large and well dressed (they are large portions, so we shared). In a moment of weakness, I ordered the cassolet as a second dish, and it did not disappoint. There is nothing I can possibly say that would dissaude you from dining here. I am sure that we will be back, to enjoy the staff, the ambience and the food.

                                                    The food was meh. Nothing special even tho I ordered the lobster roll. The brioche bun was the best part. The lobster “spice” was tasteless. Accompanied salad was wilted. The other eater had the chefs salad. Lettuces were wilted and brown. Salad dressing was incompatible with salad. Rather blah. Unfortunate because Bis used to have fabulous food. Not so much currently.

                                                    We came in for a 6:45pm reservation. While we waited at the front for a few minutes before we were greeted, we were sat promptly after. The food and service were excellent! Our party included a person who was vegan and she was offered a wonderful off menu option. The pacing of the meal was excellent as well. We will definitely be back!

                                                    We went for Mother’s Day last year and it was a great experience. So we went back for Father’s Day also a great experience. So we tried Mother’s Day again this year and we were disappointed. The seating was poor and the food was blah. The waiter was responsive and did his best but he was clearly rushed. We’re going to try another spot for Father’s Day. May give Bis another shot next year.
