Service was wonderful and ambiance was beautiful because of the view. Steak was a bit tough and pretty expensive, although we were comped this meal, which we appreciated! The wine special glass of the day showed as $3.5 on the menu, however was shocked to find out it was actually $35.00 per glass as relayed by the waiter before I considered ordering it!! Nice experience overall but plan to pay more than a usual steakhouse.
Went to the restaurant for our 25th wedding anniversary. Our waitress was delightful, but the scallops (among other things) were massively over salted, and the meal overall was mediocre. Made me sad, as the food has always been quite tasty in the past. It’s just difficult to go out on a special occasion, only to be disappointed, especially for the amount of money one has to pay for a meal there.
Sea bass was returned for being tasteless. Replaced with pork loin that was over cooked. Not a good experience.
My wife and i had our anniversary dinner this past weekend. Everything i must say was outstanding. It was perfect.. Service, Food and Sunset View was fantastic.
We had a lovely evening. I very much appreciated no loud music that I had to talk over. Our steaks were perfect and perfectly tender and delicious. I especially loved the asparagus. The Lemon cake was to die for.
We sat at a table near the exterior wall and near the glass door to a party room. The door near us was left open even though all traffic in/out of the room went through a door on another wall. The people in the room were not continually loud, but when they laughed, we couldn't hear one another. Why wasn't the door near us closed? (We couldn't locate our waiter, so we didn't ask him to close the door near us.) There were bread plates on our table, but there weren't butter knives for each plate. We spread the butter with serrated knives. I expected better knowledge of tableware. The pepper shaker wouldn't release pepper. I find this to be common. Apparently, those who fill pepper shakers are not schooled to fill pepper shakers no more than 2/3 full. If they are less than 2/3 full, then the pepper doesn't "fluff" to a volume that prevents the pepper from being released. Our waiter finally sent someone to fill our water glasses. Apparently, he had something more urgent than observing that we'd needed our glasses refilled.
Great food, service, and atmosphere, we will be back!
We live in Albuquerque and always bring our our to town guests to Bien Shur —wonderful menu —great food—I think it could have been served a bit hotter —I like my food served directly from oven to table. The view of the mountains and golf course from that height is stunning. Love it and so do our guests.
The food was outstanding & our server was very professional and courteous. Will definitely return for another visit and recommend to others.

The ambiance is amazing. The service spectacular. The food, mediocre. Considering the cost one would expect a stellar meal. My wife & I both ordered the NY strip, when delivered to the table the food looked great, but upon first bite we discovered both our steaks too be cold. Once notified the server remedied the situation, but the meal was lackluster at best. If one goes, go for imbibing.
After figuring out where to sit, it was wonderful. Made reservations for a window seat (I would highly recommend) but when I got there the host said it would be a 20 minute wait. So they seated us in a terrible location with bright lights shining on my head. I looked to my left and there was a table by the window along with other nice (non-window) tables open. I asked if we could have the window table and they said sure. The host was clueless. The place never filled up.
Once that was settled it was fabulous. The sea bass was cooked to perfection (as always) and the waiter was absolutely amazing. His timing was perfect and a very pleasant person. Looking over the City lights was absolutely beautiful. 5 star . . . just don't listen to the Host.
Disappointed in service - it took 30 minutes after salads for dinner to arrive. Since other tables were served it seems our order was lost.
We had been to Bein Shur for special occasions before, and decided to go back for my birthday. We had a wonderful meal -- we were seated where we'd requested to be in our reservation, the service was excellent, and so was the food. The room was partially full, but quiet enough to carry on a conversation easily. bien Shur is my favorite special occasion restaurant in Albuquerque!
When you dine at a Casino’s feature restaurant you expect at least a memorable meal. The dishes were lukewarm, bland, and mediocre. The cocktails were undoubtedly watered down and weak. That is, once the waitress got around to getting them (we were one of two parties in the entire place and waited about 15 minutes for our second round). We had two drinks each and didn’t even feel like we had a light beer. It was a $200 bill for the two of us. Very disappointed with our meal and it wasn’t nearly worth what we paid. We’re sitting in our room wishing we spent $30 at the buffet, which would probably have been more satisfying.

The salad and main course were great, but the onion soup was quite poor. It was like a stew instead of actual onion soup broth. Add more soup to the ingredients, less cheese and it will be very good
Best fillet mignon I had in Albuquerque. Cooked very rare and so tender you could cut it with a fork. Side dishes were also very good. Beautiful view as well. Made anniversary special.
We were very disappointed to find a limited menu when we were expecting the amazing buffet we had last year.
Over priced for average tasting food, and the portions so small, left hungry. Not worth the views.
They didn’t have anything special on the menu for Christmas Eve, and the staff probably would have preferred to take the night off. Tiny portions of cold and lousy food. Very very slow. Beautiful view. Good but small and slow drinks! Could not be more overpriced if it tried. My elderly father even tried to complain, and they said that they would give him a free breakfSt if we were staying at the hotel, which we were not. Boo all around.
Great ambiance and service. A great leisurely dinner to celebrate birthdays Ordered NY Strips. The food came out, great presentation and huge steaks that were cooked perfectly. But the steaks were tough. I expect NY Strips to be a bit chewy, but these were hard to carve. Great flavor, but....
The filet mignon was tender & very tasty (excellent).
The steak’s accompanies were not good at all. Sun dried tomatoes were the consistency of leather the greens were not good at all.
The waitress was not knowledged on the food menu she had to be asking someone else when we asked what certain items were in the menu.
I had wine & I had to ask our waitress twice to service my wine glass.
A young girl kept coming to our table interupting us, first, she was hard to understand when she spoke, she was asking to take our wine menu & we couldn’t understand her. second, asking us if we were done while we were still eating. That was puzzling.
The Maître D is an excellent person to greet the customer we have been there several times & he has always been friendly & makes us feel very welcome.
My steak was cold. The server took the steak back and re-heated it, but no one came over to apologize or even follow up. I expect better service and food when I spend $50 for a steak.
My husband and I went to Bien Shur for our 28th anniversary. We have always loved going there because the food and the service are perfect. We were treated warmly and promptly as soon as we walked in. We had reservations and were seated immediately and near a window which overlooks the city. I wish I remembered our waiters name because he was absolutely wonderful and made our night amazing. Thank you Bien Shur. We will definitely see you soon!!!
The lamb special was swimming in oil. The pork tenderloin was good, but rather small portion. The pumpkin, Cherry etc. cake was interesting. Loved the green chili cheese bread and the oil dipping choice.

One of the best dining experiences we have had in Albuquerque! Loved the delicious wine, perfectly cooked steaks (with fois gras!), exquisite chocolate creme brûlée, and incredibly attentive service. Can’t wait to go back!
Another wonderful experience! The filet was prepared to perfection, as were the scallops, tender and succulent! The waiter, Joseph, was so kind to my elderly mother when she accidentally spilled her wine. He kindly relayed his own similar experience, easing her embarrassment! Excellent dining experience, from waitstaff to delicious food to gorgeous views!
Almost everything was perfect! Wait staff, food, food, food (incredible meal! server. Our server (please look up his name) picked up on our senses of humor which made the entire evening almost perfect.
I say almost for the following reason: the dining room was almost empty when we arrived. We purposely booked for 6:15. I had left a special request that due to my inability to sit around tables from all sides, that we get a table with a city or mountain view. The host acknowledged my request and brought us to a table with a partial city view. My friend asked for the table next to it and the host said it was for a larger party. The room had very few customers! Including when we finished our meal and and left. The available tables on the mountain side were closer to the room’s center; that wouldn’t work.
I have dined at least a dozen times at your amazing restaurant and will continue to do so. But I will perhaps ask for a manager if that were to happen again with similar circumstances,

First time dining at Bien Shur. The view was beautiful, I recommend going for dinner right before sunset. The service was great, very polite and prompt. The food was delicious! We had the lamb, seafood special, crab cake appetizer, and pumpkin almond cherry cake. The focaccia served before dinner was a little salty and hard. But, all in all, it was a great experience.
Hosts arguing in front of us. Silverware dropped on floor by waiter never picked up. Water poured into wine in wine glass.....etc.
Wonderful experience—best filet mignon I have had in quite awhile. Nothing to fault—great anniversary dinner, with a complimentary dessert.
This was my 36th anniversary, and the host and server both called attention to that fact. It was a nice touch. We had a great time, and the service was incredible. We will be back.
The food was delicious. The wine that was recommended paired well with our dinner. The waiter was excellent, kind, and prompt to our needs. Dessert was also very delicious! The view from the 9th floor overlooking the Sandia mountains is beautiful. Highly recommend the restaurant.

Breathtaking venue atop the Sandia Resort in Albuquerque, NM. Sandia is the Indian word for the mountains East of ABQ. It means "watermelon." Sunset dining at Bien Shur is perhaps the best place in the city to watch the Montague light up with the sunset reds that transform the mountain into a watermelon. This was our view as we worked through multiple courses of New Mexico-inspired cuisine. Every dish had elements adapted to include cheeses, chiles, peppers, spices, etc. from the local food cultures. Amazing fillet and fish dishes. Wonderful wine selection. In fact I found a Pinot noir on the menu that I'll be adding to my reserve at home. Excellent service. Beautiful decor that combines the historic adobe style with the more contemporary Californian Tuscan style. Bottom line, my wife and I will be going back... And bringing friends. Definitely recommend.
