Mr. Baan’s Bar and Mookata is a place to gather and share unique cocktails, wine, and spirits while feasting on charcoal grilled Thai barbecue.

Mookata translates is “cook it yourself” barbecuing experience. It consists of a domed grill surrounded by a moat of broth, which is enriched by the drippings of the meat. A mookata set comes with various marinated meats, vegetables, eggs, and dippings sauces. Come enjoy Mookata on Mr. Baan's patio which has misters when it's hot or heaters when it's col.

Mr. Baan's is run by Yotaka and Alex Martin.

We had an unforgettable dining experience at elements at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain. From the moment we arrived, the setting was stunning—perched on the side of Camelback Mountain with sweeping desert views that made for a perfect sunset backdrop. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. We started with the hamachi crudo, which was light, fresh, and expertly balanced. For the main course, the miso-glazed salmon and the Wagyu beef were both standouts—cooked to perfection and layered with flavor. Even the sides, like the truffle mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables, were memorable. The service was just as impressive—professional, warm, and attentive without being intrusive. Our server made thoughtful recommendations and timed everything perfectly so we could enjoy a relaxed, romantic evening. Our Somalia was amazing, he recommended several different wines. The host was very friendly and accommodating. Our waiter was quick and precise and friendly. He attended to our every need, he was constantly present. The food was amazing. The steak was perfectly cooked and cut like butter! The steak was so tender and seasoned perfectly. I will be back.
