We were sat down promptly only to wait 25 mins before someone came to take our drink order. We waited another 35 mins before we got our drinks. It took over an hour before we finally were able to put our orders in. This is after we had already stood up and asked if we were going to be served. No one apologized for making us wait. I was shocked at the abismal service we received despite having a reservation.

Overall very good❤️The chef and food were the best but waitress was rude and could have done better. Our first time there and didnt help. She just kept coming back asking are you ready to order now😑
First and foremost, the food was delicious! The hibachi chef “Huy” was really entertaining and interacted very well. Now as for the reservation and seating that was the only minus, we were seated 20 min after our reservation and after we checked in on time.
The experience was great everything was great, only problem was the host idk what was up but she had a real bad attitude. She looked stressed poor thing the chef was amazing.

Had a great entertaining dinner this weekend. Filet mignon was to die for. Our chef Huy made the experience so fun and enjoyable! Highly recommend!
Celebrated my wife’s birthday
This was our first time visiting and I most definitely can say we will be back sooner than later. It was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to visit again.
Quality of food and service have depreciated in the few years I haven’t been here.
Service was great. Made reservations for 6:15 got there early and was seated right away. We were a party of 2 whom sat in one end and a party of 1 whom sat on the other. So we were socially distant. The chef wore a mask and was very polite , and the drink was awesome

Linda at the front was extremely rude. She left me standing at the front for a few minutes, didn’t greet me, then finally said can I help you. I asked her if my table was ready and she ignores me, walks off, and calls someone else to answer my question. The waiter Collins and chef were amazing. Great customer service on their end.
I took my niece and two great-nieces, aged 15 and 11 to dinner. There were customers waiting for tables when we walked in but, because we had a reservation, we were seated immediately.
The two girls had never been to an hibachi table dinner before. We all loved the jokes and knife skills of the chef! These chefs aren't just talented at the way they cook but they really put on a show with their slicing and dicing!
We each had a different meal from colossal shrimp to steak to two kinds of chicken dishes, and all were cooked perfectly.
If you want a special evening out with a great show and great dinner, this is the place to go!
This was suppose to be a special occasion for the kids this place needs a deep deep deep cleaning. Also the service was rude. I’ve been to many hibachi and this was by far the worst. Food is sub par will never attend again
Food was good. Server forgot a bunch of things several times though.
Came in and sat a a table that had bits of food on it (pieces of rice) and such even after it was cleaned.

The server was very nice. The cook was good, although he forgot to serve one of the plates the meat he was cooking. It took a while til he realized it, and apologized. Overall it was a nice.
This Benihana is my favorite location, even though I have been to others in the Houston/Sugarland area, as well as the first location ever in New York City. I think what sets the Gessner location apart is the staff. From the managers, to the servers, to the chefs, you cannot meet nicer people. Nantana, or regular server, is the BEST server in the organization. She has complete attention to every detail, is warm, friendly, and goes "above and beyond" every visit!
Our chef for the night didn’t do much intertainment was a bit rude too
We came for my belated birthday celebration. The staff are always welcoming and courteous. The food is always delicious and the family we were paired with were very pleasant. There is always plenty to bring home for another delicious meal at home. I highly recommend Benihana’s.

Celebrated two birthdays and had a great time as always. Had steak and lobster. The steak was cooked and seasoned well. Lobster was tasty and cooked properly. Also had chicken fried rice which is always worth the additional charge. Another fun and memorable time.
Restrooms were dirty and did not seem to have enough wait staff for number of people in the restaurant.

Food was great as usual, chef did an outstanding job but our server just sucked. He was always in the weeds because he had back to back large parties, like that’s our problem. He apologized at the beginning for taking forever to ask us for our drink orders, then proceeded to say he would take care of us. Totally not the case.
Didn’t bother to refill our water till the end when I told him I needed water and our green teas. Had to also ask him for my moms ice cream seeing that it was her birthday and the reason why we were there. So yeah won’t be back to that location again.
went to dine at this restaurant tonight and when I say the food was nasty and the building still has that old smell is an under statement. We were seated only to realize my dining experience was not going to be enjoyable, a couple sitting next to us decided that they were going to point over the food while the chef is cooking with the forks they were eating from and the chef never once asked them to stop, only for the chef and couple to continue speaking in Spanish the whole time and the chef was completely engaged in preparing their food and throwing us peanuts....I spoke to the manager and he said people do that all the time...I had to ask him twice, you are saying people play over the food and he said yes they are pointing, how do you point over food in the middle of Covid and I asked is this why you have all the tables in here filled and not have tables at six feet apart and he did not respond....I told him this is a nasty environment and unprofessional place and I will never eat there again.....$150.00 wasted the other black couple felt the same way and the manager did nothing....I truly do miss the old manager because the new management is horrible....I will not eat here again.....and to top it the old manager is sweating like he has Covid himself.....

Positives: The chef (Juan) was great! He was funny and his presentation was on point. Negatives: Wait staff took over 20 minutes to bring water, half my party had to go to the bar to order because our server would disappear for long periods of time, and items we ordered never came to the table. When we received the bill, we were charged for items we didn't receive. It was not the experience we expected in terms of service, quality, or price.
We've been to many Hibachi places in Houston/Katy but it was the first time to a Benihana. Not impressed. Vents weren't working so the whole place was smoky. At a table of 8 spots, we were seated with another group of 4 that insisted on sitting across from the chef, which didn't allow social distancing. The waitress told them to observe but didn't insist. Then they were rude to the waitress and argued the check despite obviously eating the food. The service was slow and the waitress required the chef to leave his station to get attention to the table. Not returning to this location.

Our server was fabulous and very attentive and the chef was delightful. There were a couple of kids and watching him interact with the kids was a lot of fun!
Good experience. The classic fried rice was good, as always, but some of entrees have lost their flavor. Otherwise, great service.
I loved everything about this Benihana! This was my husband first time here and in the end he loved the experience! My ONLY ONLY problem was that they are not following the COVID-19 guidelines. We were seated at a table for 8 and each party was in increments of two’s. We were SO CLOSE to the other couples you would think we all knew each other. NO ONE WAS 6ft apart!!!

It Was An Great Experience For My First Time Eating There. We Sat Around The Grilling To Watch The “ Show “. However I Was Very Hungry & We Had To Wait For One Person That Was Apart Of Another Group Who Also Sat At Our Grill. I Understand They Were Trying To Be Courteous But If The Table Is Full Nad We”re Waiting On One Person For Over 20 Mins. Let’s Move Forward w| The Cooking. My Patients Became Thiner & Thiner As We Waited.
Chef Tony was amazing at his job....not only did he hand sanitize but he wore gloves to cook our food as well, and the taste was amazing. Our waiter was attentive and anticipated what we needed. We were celebrating my son turning 15 and the staff was amazing.
