Welcome to Benihana and a dining experience unlike any other! Our guests are seated at communal tables in groups, where your personal chef will perform the ancient art of Teppanyaki. Watch as we slice and dice, preparing a meal that will dazzle your eyes as well taste buds, whether you choose mouth-watering steak, tender chicken or succulent seafood. You can also enjoy sushi prepared by a talented sushi chef and indulge in a specialty cocktail. Benihana Anaheim is located in the heart of Orange County’s entertainment kingdom, only 10 minutes from Disneyland, California Adventure, the Anaheim Convention Center, and 5 minutes from Angel Stadium. The restaurant features 22 teppanyaki tables including two private booths, plus a renovated lounge and cozy sushi bar. An 18% service charge is added to all guest checks for parties of eight or more.

Lunch special was good but pretty small. The chef was nice and did a great job. The worse thing about my experience was the host when you first check in. He was very rude, had an attitude when we were there to celebrate a birthday.

We have been going to Benihana‘s in Anaheim for about seven years now. The food and the service is good however for the price that they charge for dinners the restaurant is old and worn out.The carpet is dirty the walls had crayon marks on it and the seats were really worn. You would think with the prices that they charge for dinner And drinks that they could afford to update the restaurant. I do believe it’ll be our last time going to this location because of that.

I went for my birthday with my boyfriend. The hosts are consistently not friendly. They seemed confused all the time. And when they finally call your table they are tired. Then the table was so close to the other table I couldn’t hear the chef talking. The waiter couldn’t hear me and brought me the wrong drink. There was a lot of trash on the floor at the next table. It was too loud and it felt claustrophobic. I have been coming to Benihana for the last 10 years and I think this was the last. I didn’t like it as much. And for the price we pay I expect a better experience.

Our chef was not very good. He burnt the fried rice. The food wasn’t seasoned well. The soup that day was very bland. We visit Benihana a few times a year and this is the only time we’ve ever been disappointed.

Not only were we fed 1:15 after our booked time the food was overcooked, bland and had way too much oil. Offered $40 discount, we didn’t complain but didn’t tip, we then got chased out by the waitress complaining we hadn’t tipped!

To noisy and crowded in a small space
Our cooker didn’t do any show other than crack 3 eggs after spinning them.
Food is ok , nothing extraordinary for the price.
It will make me comeback for the food or show??

Loved our private room! It was great for our party and we could hear what everyone was saying the entire dinner. Our waiter, Reese was great! Very personable and attentive! Our chef, Joe, was also personable and entertaining. Food was great!

I have to say that I have come to this location a lot. But this time I was very irritated. The cook was boring not a show at all. Also the server when the cook was done we all that’s people that sat with us grabbed are plates and started eating and she had already brought over the to go boxes and asked if we are taking it home? Really? I am trying to enjoy my food not be rushed out. I understand it’s busy but I felt very rushed and very saddened by this. Some of our chicken was tough but not as tough as it was to feel like we are being hurried through our meal we just started eating and asked what kind of ice cream we all wanted. There was no asking if we wanted hot tea just a crazy rushed night.

Overall the meal was excellent, good customer service after we were seated. The restaurant was obviously short staffed. With our reservation, it took about 30 minutes to be seated and about an 45 minutes before the main course was plated. The frustration was visible on the wait staff, but our server and cooks maintained their smiles and helpfulness. You can never go wrong with Benihana, but the wait did affect the overall experience.

Manager went to every table to apologize for the lack of chefs. Waitress did the best she could. Sat at the table for an hour+ with no chef. Waiters all said it happens every week. Cypress location was recommended by the staff for faster/better service. Food was delicious as usual. Just the wait was hard.

This was my friend and I’s first time here (we are from Ohio, in town for a work conference). We made reservations on open table for 6:15, arrived early, checked in and began to wait. There was no mention of being behind, but as time went on this was clearly the case. Others walking in with reservations were being told they were 15 minutes behind, when we, at that moment were 45 minutes past our reservation time. By time we were seated, we were 55 minutes past our reservation time. Once seated, we were met with more waiting and sat at our table for an hour before our chef came over. In total we spent 2.5 hours there, with the actual meal lasting maybe 20 minutes. I’m a business owner and hairstylist, I understand busy and falling behind...what I don’t understand was the complete lack of communication made by management.

Sunday night and the restaurant was overbooked!!! Our wait for the table was 15 minutes, but when we sat down we had a 50 minute wait until the chef came out. Looking around we saw 3 chefs for over 15/20 tables. Everyone waiting! When I asked the server if there was a shortage of chefs, he kind of brushed me off. If it wasn’t for the good being so good, we would never go back. Would not recommend the 5.30/45 time slot on a Sunday - the whole reception was filled with disgruntled hungry patrons waiting.

First of all we had reservations and didn’t get seated til 30 mins past the reservation time. Our waiter was rude and not very friendly. A nearby waiter spilled soup on my husbands feet. The ventilation was horrible with smoke everywhere while the various chefs made the food.....bad experience especially since it was my birthday dinner with my family.

This was my mother's first time at benihana. The food was fabulous and the server was outstanding. My only complaint is that the chef was in a rush and really didn't do the tricks that I have seen from other chefs. He did do the pumping heart rice, a very SMALL onion volcano and that's about it. I was expecting him to do the shrimp trick. Other than that, he was awesome. My mother enjoyed every minute. Thank you!!

Way too noisy!!! Way too smokey!!!!!!!

Hard to enjoy the EXPENSIVE meal with all the smoke and noise!!!!

Plus, they forgot my husband's chicken on his meal! The cook was done cooking and started cleaning the grill. We asked him where my husband's chicken was. He had to ask for chicken 2 or 3 times from the employees walking around. By the time he got it and finished cooking it, the other 7 of us were done eating. It was a terrible experience!!!!! Not even an apology!!!!

Came for my son’s birthday and it was his first hibachi experience. He was thoroughly enjoying the cook who really interacted with him to ensure he was having fun. The main challenges we experienced were the waitress not being attentive to the chefs needs resulting in him missing items from his cart and a really gross sulfur smell that inundated the restaurant. Additionally, we waited a seemingly excessively long time to receive the check and birthday ice cream. I absolutely love Benihana and the showmanship they provide during the dining experience, however I probably would not recommend this location.

We had the best experience ever this last visit. My family and I eat at Benihanas at least 3 times a year. This time the food tasted so much better. The chicken was so juicy. The steak had so much flavor and my salmon was so delicious. Our chef Dustin or Justin was amazing. We had 5 kids under 9 and 4 adults and everyone was entertained. Every single meal was delicious. He made suggestions on how to eat the food and how he was going to prepare it and he did not disappoint.

We had a 4p reservation. Most of the tables were empty. They made us wait while “they got our table ready.” Not sure why. Perhaps they wanted us to wait for another party to come in so we can be seated at the same time?

Our server had great customer service, was friendly, & accommodating. It was sweet of her to sing, give me a free ice cream & picture for my bday at the end of the meal. Those were highlights of the evening.

Unfortunately for us, our Chef, Jose, wasn’t very friendly, outgoing, energetic, or lively. Neither was his cooking demo. I asked him to keep the tails on my shrimp because I eat them, but he refused, saying he was supposed to cut them off. There goes 1/3 of each of my shrimp I payed for into the trash.

They don’t give you a knife with your plate setting, which I use to eat with.

I asked a different server walking by for honey. She said sorry, we don’t have any, & handed me a sugar caddie instead. So I got up, went & asked the bartender for honey. She had great customer service, was friendly, & was happy to get me honey & a spoon.

The portions are very small for the exhorberant price.

Only came in because we had the $30 bday certificate, which really helped.

Not sure if we’ll go back for another special occassion. Not sure if it’s worth it. Will have to think about it.

Our portion of filets were cut and cooked with other parties. Chef mixed it up. Although we didn’t say anything we felt like we were cheated.

We had a reservation for 6:30 pm. We arrived on time, were sat down 20 minutes later and the chef did not come out until 8:10 pm. All we got was an apology from the manager after we had to complain. I understand if you were short staffed but at least do something for your customers. A complimentary appetizer would have been great for the amount of time we had to sit at the grille, smell the food and wait for over an hour for our chef to start cooking.

The service was great. The chef seemed like a new cook. The chef didn’t cook my steak medium. The chef forgot my sons hibachi chicken. The chef also overcooked my daughter’s steak as well. The waiter was very attentive and nice.

We waited over an hour once we were seated and before a cook arrived. Our cook Justin was awesome and apologized. He was very pleasant and a great cook.

Horrible experience, Made reservations at 4:45, didn’t sit down until 5:15, then we didn’t get our chef until 6:25. I spoke to the manger and he said that 4 chefs didn’t come to work. I told him nobody ever said something to me. I had small kids and I would of left. Manger made no effort to make it better. Once again horrible service

We were seated quickly but sat there for about 40 minutes. our waiter was amazing and was trying to accommodate us as much as possible. Our cook could’ve been a little bit more prepared he was sweating profusely so maybe I would recommend wearing a handkerchief under his hat because the sweat was dripping down his face. I had my steak medium rare but it was a little overcooked. He was going too fast trying to hurry up and serve us that there was rice splashing all over the place and I even saw one of the ladies seated at our table remove one off her chest.

We had a reservation through open table at 7:15p. They over booked and understaffed. It took an hour to get seated and then everyone at our table was finally happy about that. We got soup and drinks and waited for the chef. We waited until 9pm before we finally got a cook at our table. Our table across from us waited until 9:45. It lost the fun aspect and we were all ready to leave before the chef even got to the table. We’ve been to several Benihana’s and love it. This was our first time at the Anaheim one and will be our last.

Reservations were for 7pm on Saturday 1/4/20. We were seated at 7:40pm. There was on the tow of us. Out waitress cane by for drink orders and took our food orders. Got our drinks, salad (had to wait for silverware) and soup. Then we waited and waited. At 8:30 I got a manager to find out what the story was. The went back to get the chef. The manager said he would be back after the show to check on us. The chef looked hurried and rushed. The table show was minimal.

We finished at 9:50pm almost 3 hours from the reservation time.
The manager never came back to check on us.

Poor customer service here. It seems like no one working there really cares about the customer. The carpet was not clean with food all over the place and the tables and chairs are very weathered.

Also never heard back from Benihana corporate on this issue.

It’s a shame the open table promotes this restaurant.

They were short staffed when we were there, so we waited over an hour for a chef to come to our table to make our food. The food was not as good as I remember. The noodles were extremely salty. Due to the fact that they were understaffed that night, which I understand isn’t their fault, they rushed through making our food. Overall the experience and food didn’t seem worth the price.
