Bazille – Nordstrom Rideau Centre Ratings and Reviews
I have several food allergies, and the staff at Bazille handled them without any fuss or drama.
My menu options are limited because of the allergies, so I chose the pan seared chicken paillard. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the greens were wonderfully fresh. For dessert, I shared the banana-chocolate creme brulee with my husband. I would go back again just for that dessert.
I ordered the French onion soup. While quite good (could have done with a little less salt) it was a challenge to eat in that the melted cheese stretched an arm's length when lifted from the surface of the bowl. Not something one would serve to Queen Elizabeth.
My main course was the berry and fig salad. Always good only this time the chef omitted to add blackberries.
Saturday is a busy day but service was still very good. My server apologized multiple times for the delays but I was in no rush. The food was excellent as always and worth my wait. I had the grilled chicken with angel hair pasta. Wasn't very heavy but still filling.
I had lunch at the Bazille a few times with friends or colleagues. The food quality is consistently good, so is the service, always friendly and professional. My favourite dishes are sautéed chicken with angel hair pasta and warm Asian glazed chicken salad.
It was bitterly cold outside so I ordered the hearty Onion Soup. It was very tasty with lots of onions and a very good melted cheese topping. I also ordered the club sandwich which was delicious. The french fries are constantly good. It comes with olive aioli however one can order ketchup and vinegar as well.
the service was awful; the food was not up to par with what I had expected
my red wine was too warm; the asian salad looked and tasted like it had been sitting under a lamp for hours; the server not very attentive and the restauant was not full. overall a bad experience and I will likely never tetue
Pleasant, young, modern, and excellent, creative food. But a little too noisy. Very difficult to maintain a conversation, unless one is given a table for 2 against the wall. One of us is 70 and I am 81, so it helped. Will go back! I gave 5 stars for the service because each we dealt with was very nice and friendly, yet professional - when they managed to come to our table as they are quite busy. I gave 4 stars for Value as it is not exactly cheap...
It was a birthday dinner out, and I had high expectations. I ordered the salmon entree, and the salmon came out smelling very fishy (which I think means it may have been bad?). I only tried a couple of bites, but it was also extremely dry. The service was also very slow even though the restaurant was almost empty.
I always enjoy coming to Bazille. A little surprised that the Chicken Caesar salad was removed from the menu but was total still available to order. The server said that while I could still order it that it was no longer offered at the inexpensive rate that it once was and therefore removed from the menu and that Bazille no longer wanted it on the menu because of that rate and would just be adding a couple of dollars to it. I do enjoy that salad....not because I am looking to pay an inexpensive price for a meal but because at 650 calories it is lower than a lot of the other entrees available and that is why I enjoy ordering it. I also don't feel that a $17.50 salad should be now removed from a menu as if it is a cheap price salad. It is an enjoyable salad - don't understand the pretense?
There are a few other menus not listed on line so there are expanded seasonal choices . I had a special lamb shank / cous cous that was delish . Friendly waiter also brought bread & olives to the table. Salmon on salad nicoise was overcooked even though we requested to be cook lightly. Only other negative was the high priced desserts.
