Loved it! Great vibes!
The service and the food were warm and well meaning. I loved it always do.
The service was terrible. We were allowed to reserve a table on Open table at 9.30 pm but kitchen closes at 9.30 so they rushed everything in few minutes. Waitress was rude and ruined the whole dinner experience. Horrible experience and very hard to call the food Italian. Only the pizza was good and similar to an Italian pizza from Napoli (similar not a real one). The rest of the food poor quality, fake Italian and overpriced.
First of all we had excellent service! Our server was very friendly check now it’s just the right amount! I have a gluten-free pasta which is homemade and it was delicious! I also have to say the hostess was very accommodating!
Did not enjoy the half chicken. Very dry, small, and under seasoned. Had to order extra sauce which took about 20 mins to get. It was mine and my sisters birthday and we were not very happy with Ava restaurant… they also did not have the Ruffino wine we wanted. We were given house wine for the same price!!!!!
I’ve been here multiple times but just now tried the pizza 10/10. Very good, all the food was great. I enjoy the experience every time I dine here. Great cocktails too.
The food was great but the service wasn’t so good. We waited about 10 minutes to place our drink orders, one of the food orders wasn’t made the way it was requested, and my second drink never arrived - thankfully I wasn’t charged for it
Food was absolutely exceptional as was the wine. Great atmosphere. Modern rustic design very comfortable environment. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
The restaurants atmosphere was amazing and full of life, food was great and fast.
You can never go wrong with the breakfast pizza, or their French toast. Lots of food and delicious. Make sure you order the egg on the pizza over medium, otherwise it comes out very runny, barely over easy.
Service is absolutely wonderful, hostesses and waitress were friendly and efficient. The food here is always just so so bleh but it’s a convenient location that frequently has availability for small groups so it has drawn me back. If the food was improved I’d be more inclined to dine here frequently!
Despite the food being good it was not worth the price and the service was not good. We left and said there’s no reason for us to return at this point, there are places with better food and better service for less
Horrendous service. Food was very good but plating was sloppy and the meal served without silverware. I had to get up and get silverware for the table because the server disappeared. I also pulled all the plates after the meal after they sat empty for 15 minutes and walked them to the dish room myself. Water and tea glasses sat empty for most of the meal. For 260.00 after tip I expect at least moderate level service. I won't be back.
Very loud inside … food was really good… gnocchi was feather light, rabbit ragu tasty .. husband’s linguine with clams really tasty .. he said one of the best he’d had … lots of fresh clams. Waitress was almost sullen so service indifferent .. I swear the only reason she cracked a smile at the end was to boost her tip. In spite of excellent food, will not be visiting again.
Apps and pasta were great. The pizza was a little soggy but had good flavor.
great freshly made pasta and margarita pizza rocks
Waiting about 15 minutes for the waitress after being seating. Cups were dirty with lipstick, advised the waitress who brought out different cups that were still dirty. Ordered the avocado toast, found a hair in it so wasn’t able to enjoy the meal.
My scallops were amazing and our waitress Nicole was fabulous!
Good ambiance, but the food was weak. Tomato sauce tasted watered down - I would have been disappointed with this quality at Olive Garden.
Great dining experience and the food was meh. The ambiance is great and he staff was very friendly but the food was just a little bland. High quality, just not super flavorful.
Dined on a Thursday at 7:15. The food was mediocre at best. We were seated outdoors at a table with one chair and which was not preset. I’m not sure if it had even been wiped down. The service was underwhelming. It wasn’t particularly busy. A different server brought food to the table each time even though there were open tables around us. Eggplant parmigiana arrived to the table lukewarm at most. Spaghetti with the parms was over cooked. Tomato sauces were over salted. Italian soda ordered for my daughter along with the food arrived just as we were finishing our dinner. We were planning to have dessert but decided it was time to get out. We chalked up the meh service to a labor shortage but still tipped 20%. Absolutely no excuse for the food though. We went to celebrate two events. Not planning to return though.
Our server, Cory?, was the best part of the meal. She was very helpful and friendly.
The food was delish.
We so wanted to love this restaurant given its sister restaurant 717 South across the street is beyond fabulous. Ava is good and we give it a 4 overall but it’s a low 4 (more like a 3.8). The pizza is really good as are the wood roasted veggies (they are incredible) and we highly recommend them. We had a table of 5; 4 of us ordered chicken Parmesan. Everyone else liked the chicken Parmesan but I was disappointed in the sauce. It wasn’t tomatoey enough for my liking. I think it was the addition of the grana Padano cheese. One person in our group got the papperdelle bolognese and said it was simply delicious. Someone else in our party said a friend had recommended the papperdelle. The service was okay but we had to wait a while to be waited on and we had to ask for bread. Otherwise we would give the service a higher rating.
Very surprised servers and staff were not wearing masks. Our server very respectfully put one on which asked by my table mate who is immunocompromised. However other staff bringing out food, clearing table, etc all were unmasked.
Brunch is something my friends and I do every weekend, so when we first went AVA. They were quick to seat us but then we never received any drink menus though we asked twice. Then once we ordered the drinks one of my friends glassed a long strand of hair hanging from the rim as well as dirt on the rim. When we asked for new glasses of mimosas, the NEW drinks had what looked like dirt, hair and lint. It was like she just poured the drinks out and poured them back in. Then when we asked for the waitress to take the glass back and if it alright if we can just leave - she gave an attitude. Will not go back.
Bruschetta here is awesome. Had twin filets but they mixed up our orders & I got my friends but we didn't realize it till we cut into our 2nd filet. Service has been subpar the past few times we've been. Maybe they have a shortage in staff like most places in Tampa.
From the menu it looked like upscale dining. The atmosphere was unappealing to say the least. There were young people in their 20s slamming drinks and yelling above the normal crowd noise. The food was average and the service and quality did not justify the upscale pricing. $300+ for 4 with one beer and one glass of wine because the server was absent. The definitely lost out of alcohol sales. Apps came out fast but it took over an hour to turn out 3 fish and one pasta dish. They didn’t have a lot of tables and there was no explanations of the hold up. No motivation to give it another shot.
Was good food but tiny portions for cost. Drinks were great
Great atmosphere and great food!
This is a cool place. We went for lunch but they only had a brunch menu and it was breakfast forward. Pancakes, omelettes, Benedict options, and a breakfast pizza. We actually had a margarita pizza and it was very nice. We really enjoyed the avocado toast with burrata. Service was excellent! Overall good vibe.
The scenery was very good. Service was good. portions were large. There was a birthday party going on and they were noisy. Facility was clean and spacious, indoor and out.
It took 50 minutes to get service and order our initial drink. The waitress was not personable whatsoever and it seemed as we were inconveniencing her by being there. Unfortunate service for a nice restaurant.
Arrived 10 minutes early for a 10:45am reservation. We were seated immediately, but it took about 20 minutes before anyone came by to the table. We put in our order the first time our waitress came to our table around 10:55. Our drinks arrived and were delicious, but we waited around 45 minutes for our food. The food was mediocre at best and definitely not worth the wait. The breakfast potatoes had no seasoning and tasted like had been cooked in old/bad oil that needed to be changed. 5 other tables around us who sat down after us got their food before our table. The waitress didn’t apologize for the delay or explain what happened. Overall, they have horrible service and terrible food. This seems like a place you would go if you want to sit down and drink for 2-3 hours and didn’t plan on ordering any food.
Nicole was excellent
It was OK. Disappointed simply because the other reviews were so good and we were excited for the first date night in awhile.
The service wasn’t great. Our waitress brought our drinks spilling them as she was walking and set them down and didn’t even offer to clean it up or get a new one. She simply said, “they filled this one to the brim!” So we were left with about 3/4 even before the first sip was taken. Then we asked her opinion on which pizza and we went with opposite of her suggestion and she brought us what she suggested. Sure, it was confusing I guess.
The shrimp and scallop appetizer was not worth the price. Tasted like cold seafood doused in store bought cocktail sauce with other sauces that didn’t make a lot of sense.
The pizza was fantastic, no complaints there.
It was just, OK. For restaurants being back open and all the choices available, they just need to step it up.
The hostess tried putting us outside in the sun at 5:30. It was like 92 degrees out. There was literally 25 open tables inside, she said they were all reserved. Really irritated me to be treated like crap. We ended up sitting in bar area
Consistently one of the best restaurants in Tampa. Incredible staff. I had a steak that was incredible.
Great brunch selection, wonderful food, and fresh dribks!!
