Arnold Palmer's Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The atmosphere is wonderful but the food quality was poor and way over priced. Very poor prime rib and the sea bass did not taste fresh. Also we had indicated that it was our anniversary and I was surprised that they did not make an effort to do something special especially after noticing they brought another guest a birthday dessert with candle.
Our group of 8 was getting together. One of nice aspects of our reservation was that they had gluten free bread.
We ordered some wine and drinks, and had bread delivered. I asked for some gluten free bread. None appeared. I re-asked only to be told they had run out the night before. Okay, it happens.
We ordered appetizers which came quickly and done right. At this point our server took our order. It seemed quite awhile before food appeared, but it was a group of 8. There was some confusion over which salads went where, but it did work out. Eventually our food came, with the exception of 1 person. Apparently, there was some confusion about his order. Again, we are a group of 8. Everyone was served, but him. So, the rest of started to eat slowly. We waited, and waited and waited. The joke became that they had to go fishing to get the fish. I finally went out and asked what was going on. They assured me it would be out in 2 minutes. It wasn't 2 minutes, but it was shortly afterwards. A couple of times, we had to ask that glasses be refreshed with wine/water. My husband and I ordered a side dish that never came. I had to remind the waiter that it hadn't arrived and said that it was so late now, to please remove it from the charges.
The waiter did without our asking, remove the cost of the one dinner that was so late.
Yes, we were a large group, but there are two large group rooms so I assume they are used to having groups. The friends made the evening, the food was okay, but it fell really short on service.
Wonderful Food in a Classic dining environment. Amanda has been our server a couple of times and she is FABULOUS. The young gals at the door and parking attendants are...... well, young and need some help understanding that the customer comes first.
Look forward to a return visit.
Arnold Palmer's never disappoints. Excellent comfort food, steaks and seafood, served in a relaxing environment, featuring tons of interest memorabilia about Arnold's long career in golf. Very friendly and attentive, professional waitstaff. An all around excellent and dependable choice.
Service was off the chain good! Food was good too but the middle of my fish dish was under-cooked. We had appetizers (onion rings and crab cakes) that were delish so the under-cooked fish came home to be re-heated and cooked through. It was a thick piece of fish and the flavor was very good. The one bite I took that was just about raw was unfortunate. I will return but may go with steak.
Again, enjoyed the service thoroughly, the atmosphere is fantastic (outside) with live music and heaters galore. Our lovely waitress did offer us dessert but we passed on having any or taking it home. Being in the hospitality industry, I think the kitchen may believe the waitress more if they know the customers weren't looking to get something for free.
Arnold's is in a contest with MacDonalds restaurant to see who can serve food the fastest. We were enjoying our starter and had only eaten half when the server asked if we were done. We continued and again had not completely finished our starter when the server brought out our entree. We sent it back until we had finished but the entrees sat under a heat lamp until we were ready. Needless to say the quality of the entrees deteriorated.
All in all a terrible experience.
I would recommend La Brassiere for the staff so they can see how a meal is presented and served
I was on vacation in La Quinta and this was my second time in a week at this restaurant. The first visit was a little disappointing but this evening was much better. We had great service from Rory. Wine and salads were served promptly. My order wasn't placed correctly as I received the wrong entree. Rory quickly came to the table and told me the mix up was his fault. Not often you see servers take responsibility for their error. He had already placed an order for my correct entree and it came within minutes. The food was very good, as was the service. When we got the bill, we noticed we weren't charged for my entree. Rory told me he was going to do that even though I assured him that wasn't necessary. Nevertheless, he did.
The only improvement I would recommend is a bit more time between serving the salad and serving the main entree. I didn't get enough time to enjoy my delicious salad. This happened both times I was at the restaurant.
We ate on the outdoor patio on a chilly night and it was wonderful...the heaters kept us comfortable, the live music was delightful, the ambience is second to none. Amanda our server was wonderful and the food was very very good. It was our friends last night in La Quinta and it was a perfect way to end their stay.
We loved this place! Our waiter, Corey, was so friendly and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed visiting with him. The food was excellent. The atmosphere amazing. The Arnold Palmer room was really cool too. We will eat here again if we ever get back to the area.
Our first server was surly and the table wasn’t cleared between appetizers. We asked about breads and water refills, he told me the assistant servers were too busy. One of our young guests made the wine selection and the server rather scoffed at him. One of my guests went to front desk to complain. Server was immediately removed and friendly servers stepped in. Our night turned around at that point. We dine here during our winter season very frequently. I think it was handled well and I do not anticipate disappointment again. Many times over we have had fun engaging servers here
My husband and I usually go to AP’s when we are in town on vacation. I’ve been probably 6 or 7 times in the last 5 years. The ambience and vibe there has been top notch. I will say that since they have crammed more tables outside in the areas that before were great ambience spots it’s just not the same. The fire pit was a great waiting area to have a cocktail before dinner. The golf putting area over on the side was always enjoyable and part of the charm. Now that whole area is covered with tables. It killed the unique vibe of the place. The food is very good. We had the prime rib and charcuterie board. The charcuterie could have been a bit better. Nothing special. Drinks were good. Service was what was moat glaringly lacking. Took awhile for a waiter to come over to our table and acknowledge us and he was always very rushed, sweating profusely, I felt bad for him . Looked like he had too many tables to handle. Anyway, a good place, just not the restaurant and cool place it used to be.
Our evening started out well. We had nice wine and an appetizer. Our main course, however, was served cool. The server took mine back to reheat and replace, which shouldn't have happened in the first place. The food was good--- the service could have been better by promptly delivering our food when it was ready.
Great restaurant with amazing views from the outdoor patio. There was a musician playing the guitar who was very good and provided excellent background music for dinner. The service was fantastic and the food was amazing, an excellent getaway in the desert. A must see restaurant for anyone who knows and respects Arnold Palmer for what he accomplished in his lifetime.
We were seated in a side room instead of the main dining room with fireplace. Didn't like the table location at all. The service was excellent and the food was very good although expensive.
We had made a note that we were celebrating a friend's 85th birthday which was totally ignored. The restaurant certainly didn't meet our expectations and we will not go back.
We sat on the patio which has a fantastic, big firepit, Large Palms and plenty of heaters to keep you warm on a January night.
The French Onion soup is one of the best you could enjoy anywhere. Pablo was our server and was delightful and offered great service throughout our dinner.
